- I live in North Port FL and flooding is getting horrible after Hurricane Irma. The only way to evacuate would be the way I went. If I turned other way it’s under a lot of water. I made it to Wesley Chapel Florida from North Port FL in my Tesla charged with solar energy. I have a full POV video coming soon for more context. Subscribe for that.
Just so you know my LIFE was endangered. I got a tip that flooding was going to get worse. This water was shallow. I saw my neighbor get picked up by national guard. They know someone in emergency management. Now I have heard to get out of my city is 1.5 hour wait just to get on interstate its too crazy. I will be posting POV video later. I had camera on my head during the WHOLE time. I really wanna share its terrifying. Give me some time its a lot to go through. And a lot emotionally to process. My house could be underwater.
Glad you got out safely, hopefully if something happens down the line Tesla doesn't lazily point to this video as there excuse for denying warranty claims.

Teslas die from water. Humans don't if they are healthy, young males that are prepared and good swimmers. Next time. Park the Tesla on a floating platform, make a cheap one from planks and old oil barrels and leave the Tesla behind. Driving this car in water can cause fires, total destruction of the value and lock you inside to Rip. The Tesla is worse than no boat at all

When driving through water you need to go slow, going fast is just dangerous bc you have no clue whats under the water. Also it causes water to splash up into places like the frunk, plus in teslas with air suspension you can only raise the suspension to the highest when going under 10-15 mph.

Most dangerous thing there was when you were speeding down a flooded road. You're not supposed to go fast, you will lose traction. Blows my mind that people from Florida still don't believe that they will get hit by a hurricane or by flooding. 🤯

The water was not that deep, I was expecting to see it float like a boat. That's the claim that it can actually float for a short period of time.

This was interesting. I don't think I would have risked it with the downlines and debris that could be lurking in the waters. We get that a Tesla can do what a lifted truck and airboat can do. My SUV could do the same thing. Being that I live in Florida and had flooded roadways and streets and being a Health care worker. I advised my neighbors to stay inside and wait until it was safe to go out. You ended up knocking off the bumper to show us you could make it through the water even if it wasn't that deep. In the end, stay safe and I hope everything is ok on your side it is getting better in central Florida so far thank goodness.

Meanwhile, I hit water in my model S, only 30 seconds and took the first side street. Died 100 ft later. Estimate almost 9 k and wasn’t flooded.
Kiss those motors good by, they are not sealed by any means. You also did way more damage by panicing and driving that fast through the water. You better get that thing to a shop asap and get the undercarage pressurewashed and the motors serviced, otherwise its going to start rusting like hell in the next six months.

I have a 4x4 diesel with a snorkel it can go in water up to the door windows but the down side is I only get 63 miles a gallon..
About €55.00 to fill up with dinosaur piss so about 563 miles to a tank full but top speed of only 130 mph

Mainly the motors, they are not made to drive through 3 ft of water and aren't completely sealed.

@@twinsnails4983 Those can always be cleaned, that thing has a bunch of computers all over it though including outside the car like the battery management system which is on the bottom of the car. The motors also have a crap ton of boards too that will develop rust.
