A new breed seems to be emerging, one who 'watches anime', but really spends more time listening to people discuss it on youtube. Similarly to the memer, they will have vast knowledge on any of the current seasonal anime although not having seen a single episode of anime within the last 3 months.

It's basically a Lifestylist. I bet alot of us old anime fans are like this.
You missed one: The Closeted Anime Fan. These fans are hard to find, due to their unwillingness to share their love for anime publicly, and only do so in private with a few trusted people.
These types of fans are always lurking in the shadows. They appreciate the memes, cosplay, and collections of the other weaboos. It is possible for them to evolve into another type given the right situations.

This ultimate guidebook didn't include the closeted anime fan because they are so well hidden within society that it is hard to capture one for research. Manga readers are similar but it is easier to bait them out using manga sourced anime adaption releases while pure closeted fans will not reveal themselves no matter the situation. It also goes to say that the closeted fan is one of the more powerful anime fan types (almost like a non-sinnoh legendary pokmeon) for they are rarely seen and have condensed so much anime fan power within their closeted lifespans that if it is ever released, could possibly contaminate a 50 mile radius. They are also one of the more powerful fan types due to their kind as being hybrids of all of the other anime fan types. They have been a hidden type that doesn't stem from causal, weaboo, or elitists alone, but rather from all three of them simultaneously

I made a post detailing AniGamers. Sadly that type of hybrid is spreading at an exponential rate. And a true AniGamer can play a 100hr+ JRPG and keep up to date on seasonal anime. Where they get the time to do so is a mystery.

side note: i think to many anime use the cgi for cars, and though some times it works often time it breaks your enjoyment of the animation because they'll do it at a really cool intense scene and then, boom mediocre cgi car chase.....it must be an animation shortcut

I was about to get left without one, until I rolled Ruler Martha today ^^ Good thing I grabbed a good amount of golden and silver Servant statues from the event...
I rolled both of the servants I wanted in three rolls (andtwoXXyeet). I was so afraid and confused that I rolled 8 more times to simulate a normal banner.
I was planning on rolling big on the summer gatcha, and then they all came in like the first few summon tickets. I was left with the most odd mixed feeling of anti-climax and joy

I've reached the mythic, "started reading Japanese light novels but accidentally fell into the endless abyss of Chinese novels" species. Chinese writers power trip so much harder than Japanese writers.

The manga reader part was very accurate, I related a lot as am I one myself, except that when I find an anime or anime adaptation of a manga that I like, I'll definitely watch it entirely. If I didn't like something I started watching (which doesn't happen often since I select the anime that I want to watch and don't often jump in a random anime) , I won't pretend I watched it to the end.
Don't forget shoujo fans:
Wholesome people who have a manga collection bigger than your rich uncle's house. Often seen praising artists online, they will spend hundreds of dollars trying to find the last volume of a 90's shoujo manga whose English publication was discontinued. While for the most part they enjoy cute and wholesome love stories, they also usually have a secret penchant for Junji Ito manga, which they will discreetly hide under every volume of Yona Of The Dawn and Fruits Basket.

It’s true. I’ve been reading MHA since like chapter 20, well before any anime adaptation was announced and since season 1 came out I’ve adopted a lack of respect to those that actually watch the anime. Everyone is just jumping on the hype train. I’ve also lost 50% of my interest in the series. It’s a dilemma but the manga is just better.

I'm the hype beast. I mean, whenever I watch some 少年, I find courage and energy to work hard for my goals (for about two days, a week if the show is really high). But even after that I sometimes randomly get encouraged while thinking of my favorite characters.

As a manga reader I can answer the question of "Where are we?" It's really quite simple actually, you see, we have already read every single chapter of any manga worth reading (probably several times) and so we either scour every manga website we can find looking for some hidden gem or new manga that shows promise. If we find nothing that interests us we go back and re-read a manga or two and we only surface occasionally to complain that "That scene was better in the manga" or tell people "The next arc is going to be sick; I hope they do it justice in the anime." However, since we have evolved to subsist entirely on manga we can't stay out for too long which is why you only hear from us occasionally. Hope I've helped your research.

I've been watching anime for years and I still consider myself a "noob". I've only seen the Studio Ghibili films, a couple of 80's anime, a few recent "mainstream" stuff, and a lot of random underground titles. I still find things that make me say WTF out loud. If I was a "veteran" then I think I would be immune to all of the craziness in modern anime.
Tbh I belong in this group I've seen only 40 odd anime that too small ones, exception being hxh, for about a year, and I really want to reach a level where I can see gigguks vids and be like " I've seen all the anime used by him for the clips!"

You forgot an extremely dangerous new breed of creature: the AniGamer. While it was once a fact that a hybridization of the Gamer species with the Anime Fan species was nearly impossible outside of strict highly specialized breeding pits like the Pokemon Trainers, the explosive spread of both into large number of new species and general numbers allowed for a true hybrid to be born. I am a manga reader too, but sometimes I read a whole series in under 2-3 days and I forget about it so I read it again after a while... The only times I watch anime is if its a movie or a lightnovel that doesnt have a manga.
And then catching up in the manga just to realize that you have to wait a full month for less than an anime episode... It's a hard life, but manga it's still the better media

The Romancist: This one in a kind of anime fan can only watch romance anime and will ONLY judge the anime in question depending on what relation best girl ends up in (This can vary from: Alone, unawsered, accepeted, refused, etc..). This anime fan can also judge a quality of an anime depending on the first episode regardless of popular positive/negative opinions of the anime and will evaluate potencial romantic parteners for EVERY character (This must be done so that no one is left out, even if this bring homosexual/bisexual relationships into the mix, IF someone happens to be leftout then they should reavaluate the vast cast of characters and define or just guess what characer should die or travel abroad and crash on a deserted island).
This anime fan can not be trusted to recomend anime unless the one asking is from the same species, since as was said before he cannot judge an anime for it overall quality or specific plot points and only on it's ending.
NOTE: It's highly unadvised that recomendations are made to this fan as the one recommending will feel frustated with the response and potencialy end the most strong friendships.

Ah, forgot Seiyuu-Obsessionists: The anime fan who will watch entire animes just based on who the lead character is voiced by, collect every and all interviews/drama CDs/songs and covers their favourite seiyuu have featured in from all dark sides of the web, and the type who will love certain characters purely on their voice actor. A rare breed, but they certainly exist.
Oh yeah, the kinds of people that put so much stock into the Japanese voice cast but can't understand a word of it and never realize that the Japanese performance is by default over the top and campy, like a Shakespearean melodrama.

Luke Johnson well i mean lets be honest here, anyone who doesnt have nostalgia for it or isnt a newb anime fan criticizes naruto.
Naruto sorta opened itself up for criticism as soon as Kishimoto started making mistakes in rapid-fire during the War arc.
I watched Naruto in 2015...after I started anime with One Piece and HxH...it is still very amazing and doesnt deserve all the flak it gets by people who dont even understand it.

I used to watch anime all day long but now I have other responsibilities so i end up watching anime that iam sure I will enjoy by asking my friends . Also for some reason I spend more time discussing or watching videos on UA-cam about anime than actually watching it nowdays

I have phases where for a couple months I will read a lot of manga and watch little to no anime and then for the next couple of months binge anime like it is the end of the world, also there are now different types of fujioshis and fudanshis.
