    Thanks for the video. I recently decided to go with the UMC1820, and your quick take proved exceptionally helpful in narrowing the field.

    A little bit of inspiration finding this channel, and so much info on the Behringer that is really useful in a simple video: it’s class compliant and you show it working - it doesn’t say that anywhere on the websites I could find. I’m using an iPad also so this a great piece of information. I am also not a musician, but have been fascinated by sound and recording for a while.

      That is awesome to hear! Very cool to connect with others on the path that are having fun regardless of their musical abilities. I just got rid of a few other pieces of Behringer gear but the 1820 has been going strong. I no longer use it with the ipad as other smaller devices have entered the scene yet if needed, I am confident it will do the job!
      If you ever decide to share anything, I am following and look forward to it. Again, thank you and stay safe!

    I watched a great review about this device today, and yes phantom power can be switched on per 4 channels and yes both switches can be on at the same time. I am researching my options. I own a Behringer XR18 for years now, but now that I bring some more hardware into the studio (the Volcas for example) I am outgrowing that one as well. My main issue is that I want/need an interface for my iPad and one for my PC and they can not be connected through USB to both at the same time. Would I buy one extra? Not sure yet. I am glad you got this interface and you will like it I am sure.

      Thanks for sharing the info of the phantom power. Good luck in your research. Curious to see what you land on.

      Just bought a Behringer eurorack mixer which gives me 8 stereo or 16 mono channels to feed into ,my normal Behringer 1204 usb, but have been considering one of these as it’s nice to have the option to record to multiple tracks in cubaisis at the same time.k was looking at a tascam interface but 8 of the 16 ins are dedicated mic inputs and I have no use for 8 mics. Trying to decide between one of these and a k2 (ms-20) clone for Xmas. At the moment I have far more synths than my studio has space for

    Great Video! I have one but need a Power Supply. Can you share the Part Number for the power supply that comes with the unit? I am having a rough time getting that info via the googles or even at Music Tribe.

    Can I use this to run multitracks via an iPhone? Connecting a usb cable from my Iphone ( With an adapter) into the usb Port B of the UMC1820; and get the multiple outputs ready to connect it into sound board?

    I wondered if the mic preamp is bypassable if I use an external preamp?
    How do you find the latency?
    I understand it have no audio loopback feature though.

    Super interesting ! I have one question : On AUM can you send to ADAT output to communicate with a DAW on desktop ? Have an apollo and find a solution to send 8 channels from ipad (Koala SAmple with AUM) to my DAW. Thanks for your answer :)

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, if AUM sees the channels via ADAT

    • @TheWaxidermist
      @TheWaxidermist 5 місяців тому

      @@krazywabbit Thanks so much. Will probably be the good solution for me. So you can use AUM as mixer, not needed to record stuff to route to ADAT?

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  5 місяців тому +1

      @@TheWaxidermist yes. You can use AUM as a mixer only. It can record if you want. Choice is yours. As always, before buying anything, check your return policy in case you find it’s not working out for you. All the best.

    Hello, this is a very useful video. Please tell me, does the behringer umc 1820 work on macOS Big Sur? I wanted to buy it, please help.

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks. I can’t answer that as I bought the device in 2022. Big Sur came out in 2020. I would check behringer website to confirm.

    What iPad program is that? And does it let you run a quadraphonic set up on it or octa?

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  5 місяців тому

      AUM. it all depends on the interface and is it class complaint. If it sees eight out, you can send it.

    Hey there. Can you please tell me what the round trip latency is (for example : at 48kHz/64ms or 32ms ) in AUMs menu ?

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  9 місяців тому

      Help me out. Not something I’m into. You want me to hook up the iPad to the UMC, run audio through and report the latency or just the settings.

    • @metomett
      @metomett 9 місяців тому

      hey@@krazywabbit AUM reports RTL (round-trip latency ) for any usb interface connected to the iPAD. Open AUM, touch the 'dsp' monitor icon ( top right) - there you will find the RTLatency time. Can you, please tell me, what the RTL will be ( for the UMC1820) when you set 48kHz and 32 samples ?
