Works off the hydraulic oil pressure of the pump and the drum drive. The wetter it is. The less oil pressure it takes to turn it. On my front dump. A 1,000 psi on my gauge is about a 5-6 inch slump. 2,000- 2,400 is a 0-1 inch slump for curb mix
Pretty much in simplest way, it gauges the resistance required to turn a drum. Think of it this way. It’s easier to turn a drum of water than sand and rock. Easier the turn the lower the gauge number

You are right. I call such truck a concrete truck. Concrete is applied to large areas of sidewalk, on steel building floors, and in precast molds. Cement does not come in a large truck. I have seen cement poured on a small square on a sidewalk, smeared on broken concrete, even as masonry on bricks. Your writing is just fine.

How physically demanding is this job? there is a lot of lifting and climbing involved with the job correct? you have to climb up the ladder and wash the inside of the drum after you get loaded each time you have to hang the chutes on the back when you get to your job, 2-3 chutes depending what your truck carries? when you’re finished at the job you have to climb back up and wash the drum down again and wash the chutes clean of concrete then rehang the chutes on the chute holders then there is additional climbing up the ladder to add calcium chloride , color or fibers it the job calls for it So how hard do those aspects make the job?
Not hard at all bro, those are all valid things that come with thr routine washing down after every job is easy and you won't always use chutes so you'll be hanging them up half the time but other then that it's easy that's my take on it👍
