Pouring on a crazy hill

- Today we got a very early start with a driveway. Then we poured concrete for a garage slab, and a foundation wall. We ended up in the hills overlooking the Yakima Valley pouring concrete for a custom home and the views were amazing.
I started this channel after I began driving cement mixer trucks in Eastern Washington. As a cement mixer truck driver, I enjoy watching trucker videos but rarely came across local truck driving jobs like cement trucks, pick-up and delivery, and construction. Judging by comments and questions I’ve seen on other truck driving channels, many people don’t realize that there is a side to the trucker lifestyle other than long haul OTR driving. I am excited to bring more truck driving content to the genre. I hope you enjoy it!
Please let me know in the comments what you like, what you don’t like, and what you’d like to see more of as I continue making videos. Thanks!
As a fresh as f**k ready mix driver. Your channel has been soo insightful! I'm impressed at your lack of cursing, and your professionalism. Keep the videos coming PLEASE!!!
Put in 62 hours this week mixing mud lol why am I watching this. 😂
Weird right? LOL
the first time they say add 5 gallons I usually double it. We have one guy who only does manholes, he's like "add 2 gallons" I would argue that it only heats up the mud quicker, but he's been doing it around 30 years so i do what he asks.
When they tell me "add 5 gallons", I add 7
I know they don't usually know what they're talking about
100%. Always add 2x what they ask for unless its a state/federal job. We have a residential contractor here that will tell you to add a gallon of water and even once he told me to give it 3 ounces of Super 😂. When you have experience it's pretty easy to know what they want and just do it on your own.
I drive a mixer in New Zealand. It's really interesting seeing how similar our jobs are but with so many little differences. I drive an Isuzu 10X4 cab over with a Tag axle that carries 7.5 cubic meters. Thanks for taking the time to share your stories. I might have to go buy a GoPro. 🙂
Yeah really haha! I would be really interested to see how you do things in New Zealand...
we don't do meters here bro
Feet and inches and yards are a superior method. This is the USA bro
Do u think we became the greatest country the world has ever seen by using the metric system?!
@@vaekkriinhart4347 You're a troll imitating an American or an American who doesn't represent the rest of us.
I drove for Robertson's for a couple months. Just couldn't take the random schedule.
yeah it's rough sometimes man... can't really plan anything for the evening.
Please share your schedule like. What’s like? Is it 5 or 6 days
@@rs9217 every other Saturday had to work. Start time varied from as early as 1am to latest 6am. Didn't know the schedule for tomorrow until you called in the office at 6pm to find out. Sometimes you wouldn't clock out until 5pm.
I am happy to read this. You made the right choice. This is not a good industry and it deserves no new drivers. I hope you find a career that treats you well and with respect. I will leave this career one way or another this October.
Looks like you pouring in and around Benton City and West Ricland. Lived there in the valley most my life been here in Alabama last few years. But seen ur channel by accident and was like I know that area! Lol
Why dont you rinse your hopper down after getting loaded? Seems like you only wash it after the job
Do you like the automatic truck better than the stick shift?
What is your hourly rate out there if you don't mind me asking? We're close to $40/hour here (union). Just curious what other parts of the country are at. We deal with winter snow so that plays a role in pay too
Super i work in Amsterdam in the Netherlands for a concrete factory greetings Piet morees jr 👊👍
its there always a place for you to washout?
Hi. Was wondering, when you give hand signals (guessing to the batcher) when your loading. What is it for. We don't do it where I work.
Great channel BTW. Learned stuff from it👍
He is letting the batch man know how many additional gallons of water he would like to be added to the drum after he has been loaded and has checked his slump meter. This way he can save some time at the shower rack.
@@SkylinesTheLimit thanks. Been puzzled by that. Where i work, if extra water is needed we just do it ourselves with the hose we fill the tank with. Thanks for answering that one👍
The only hand signals I ever give to the batchman is to add water to my load. 5 fingers means 5 gallons of water
@@vaekkriinhart4347 the only hand signals I’ll give to a batchman involve only one finger
@Deadlocks86 same. Our batchman can't even see us when loading, just the hopper from a camera. Their loading style is a little different than I'm used to, we also have racks to wash down and it looks like they just use the big hose from the ground.
what kind of acid were you using to clean off the mixer
Probably Backset or something similar
Raul needs work boots
Choppy and difficult to watch, work on your videotaping skills.
I hate none English speaking contractor labor. Who gives a shit how long they have been waiting. Don’t even ask.
Please get out of this industry. You can do better.
Driving around for 90% of the day not a bad job
@@oakesiii3412ready mix isn't driving 90% of the time 😂
