Be aware that removing a shattered screen will be tedious and you must be patient and careful to remove all of the bits from the glue channel between the screen and the phone body. Removing the old glue is a VERY tedious and time consuming process so be prepared to take considerably longer than the 30-60 minutes shown in the directions. Also be aware that having a magnifiying headset with lights should be a high priority purchase along with this kit. Re-attaching the screen-to-phone connector is also incredibly tedious and frustrating. It took more than 8 hours of work to get ours replaced. At first it all worked fine and 10 minutes later the screen failed. Be prepared to either be delighted that your efforts bring a phone back to life or that it will end in utter failure and frustration... it is NOT as easy as you think. The UA-cam videos are all missing this information and make it all look easy...... not so.

Hi Thanks for the video. My Pixel 4a 5G glass is broken, but the LCD works fine. The screen only part is much much cheaper (about $15) but I see no videos on how to replace that. Have you ever replace the screen only? Is it impossible to get it off LCD that's why everybody replace the whole thing?

Hello! First of all, thanks so much for this! I couldn't have done this without you as I had no experience fixing phone screens so I had to watch your video multiple times! My phone screen now is replaced but it's showing 1 straight horizontal green line on the left side of the screen, end to end, although the top end changes to pink sometimes white light half an inch under the camera. Can this still be fixed? Thank you!

    • @RealWorldReview

Sounds like the display was damaged during installation unfortunately. Either that or the screen was defective. Sometimes this is covered by who you bought it from

@@RealWorldReview Thank you so much for the prompt response! Sounds like I did eff it up. I tested it before the glue and clamps and it was working fine before turning it off. 😭🤦‍♀️

You can try to remove it and put it on again because as it does sound like the screen was damaged during replacement but it can also mean the connector is not fully connected

Not sure how well it'll actually hold. And don't put it behind the screen as that raises the chance of breaking the OLED

Do not separate the OLED and the glass. If you do, you’ll ruin the OLED (if you’re not trying to preserve it, that’s fine.) on this one, there’s no frame around the screen that’s removable at this point. So make sure to lift at the glass, not the plastic trim

I can't get the touchpad on Google pixel 4a 5g. I disassembled it, cleaned the glass on the camera, I put it together and I can't see the touchpad but the bottom buttons are fine. About as it was disassembled I accidentally pressed power and the phone turned on because there was a sound. Please advise.
