Hey guys!! I missed you lol Do you trim at home or go to a stylist? I had to reupload this video so it's not perfect lol for example no music 😩😩😩 but I hope you guys enjoy it!
I decided not to trim my own hair anymore. It’s overwhelming and I usually end up making my hair really uneven. I’ll be going to Natasha 3-4 times a year. Thanks for plugging her! I struggled to find a stylist in FL and am glad I gave her a shot!
Even though many naturals are divesting from the natural hair community, I still love watching natural trim, wash days, and hair styles after many years of being natural myself.
I don’t understand the whole “divesting” from the natural hair community thing. I find it melodramatic. I still enjoy watching natural hair videos from time to type, especially women with long type 4 hair. It’s inspirational.
@@ladylaurenia I agree. I don’t think a majority of black women are “divesting”. I think many women don’t want to do the work, but relaxing is more work
When I trim I cut off what I can see through. That's all the damaged ends. Not concerned with the length, but different strokes... Also , going Natural is a fad for some, I have been Natural for 12 years, not going back . It gets easier once you find the products that work for you.
@@KLB1218 I’m fully natural, but i was relaxed for majority of my life and it was definitely less work lol. But if you have thick long relaxed hair like i did it can be alot of work. thick hair in general whether you’re natural, or relaxed it will always be alot of work sadly.
I butchered my hair once and it took me months if not a year to grow my hair out of that bad shape..lol. I've since learned from my mistakes and go to a salon but I feel comfortable trimming my hair at home now. I've been postponing going to the salon and you just convinced me to do it myself again. Tfs!
It made my day to hear that your hair sheds a lot naturally because most of my friends have natural hair as well and I'm the only one that experiences it. Thank you for that! It made me really believe that I was really doing something completely wrong
I'm so relaxed watching you trim rn lol! It's like asmr. I trim or dust every 4-5 months. Sometimes it's in a loose blow out as you're doing, other times it's in twists. I _love_ freshly dusted twists more than anything! So clean, neat, and thiccc! ETA: Your hair is gorgeous! Thick and growing so much!
I’m a salon and at home trimmer. I only allow one person to cut/trim my hair. I haven’t trimmed since June, but my stylist is on maternity leave. So either I’ll wait for her or I’ll do it myself. I am a licensed cosmetologist. Great video!!!!
4:06 i’m confused because I thought you should have cut off a little bit more because at the ends of your hair you could see where it was thicker and where it was lighter meaning you can see your yellow shirt through the scraggly parts so shouldn’t you have cut off all that part?
Your hair looked bomb after your trim😍 I usually trim my hair in twists right before I get braids or faux locs. I find that super helpful cause I retain more length when I do that🙌🏾
LOL when you asked “if you have not joined…are you good, are you OK?” I had to subscribe right then and there. Love your hair and your personality is amazing!
I used to blow dry my hair and straighten it before trimming when I was relaxed now that I'm natural I trim my hair in mini twist. I find that it works just fine too. I also trim my ends when I'm experiencing high shedding (which I hate because I have fine strands and I don't want to look bald lol) and when I'm really struggling to dentangle my hair even after a good deep treatment. So for me like every 4/5 months. #HealthyHairGang 🙆🏽🙆🏽🙆🏽
Hello, you described my hair perfectly. I washed it today and I struggled with so badly with tangles, Ugh! I have bra strap length, fine hair. May I ask what you use for your tangles? Today was the 1st time I've ever blow dried and trimmed my own hair. Been shedding but I think its only when I finger detangle. Did a protein treatment today too so we'll see how these steps work. Any advice you have though would be greatly appreciated.
@@virginiawilliams648 Hey! :) I use the alikay naturals lemongrass leave in conditioner right after I rinse my deep conditioner out and my hair is still wet. Then I go in with the Shea moisture curl and style milk section by section to detangle with a wide tooth comb. I always layers my products because I have high porosity hair. So even after I use those 2 products I go in with the TGIN buttercream, Jamaican black castor oil, and last but not least the As I Am double butter cream to seal everything in. My hair is waist length! Regular trims are important too! I think you’re doing a great job!!! Hope this helps darling 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
You did an excellent job cutting your hair.👍🏾 I'm saving this video so that I can go back to it when it's time to trim my own hair. Thank you for sharing.❤
I found your video right on time 🙌🏼🙌🏼. I was in need of a trim before my protective style and I did it using your method. It was quick and easy and my ends look 💯 times better.
I think I need one again. Lol I went to see a stylist, but I want to try to home trim. My hair is in braids rn and winter ❄️ is around the corner 😂😂. I had excessively shedding before I big chop. I have it now as well, at least I don’t hear my hair snapping anymore 😌. I needed this content today 🙏🏿. Thank you.
KandidKinks I did it similar to how you did it in the video, but I didn’t blow dry my hair 🤦🏾♀️ I know it would’ve been better if I did. But my ends feel much better though 😊
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! This really help. I did the trim while my hair was twisted but after I did my wash and saw all that hair in the tub after I detangled I almost cried! I feel better now and my hair does too :)!
I trimmed my hair as a teenager. I thought I had loads of split end damage( which I still think it was and is sadly). So I started to trim, and next thing I knew it turned into a cut. My hair was butchered 😂. I had one part that was shoulder length and another that was above my jawline and another not passing my ear. It was so funny lol. I was walking around like this but no one could tell as I was hiding it very well lol. Made it look like a very cute bob 😂
Great video that was helpful. I have been thinking about calling my old stylist (haven't had a professional trim since October 2015!), for a trim. But, with COVID, I am reluctant to go to a shop. Currently my hair is about the same length as yours, maybe a little longer. I just dusted my ends in small twists. But I really want to get all of the unhealthy ends gone! Having seen your video, I feel inspired to blow my hair out and give it a trim. Really interested in seeing my full growth... Thanks mucho!
yep i trim at home every 6 months.I am a lazy natural so no blow out for me, only a heavy cream+ a gel like curl maker to elongate and snip snip 😋😋😋 Girl, hair and skin are on fleek 😍😍 😍
Love this, just did a heatless hair trim video On my channel on my short 4c hair. Your hair is so beautiful, hope to get mine to this point too one day
oh my God 😲 I have not watched your videos for a while and now you come on with all that hair girl your hair looks thick healthy and voluminous thank you for sharing so inspiring. I cut my hair at the beginning of spring then again in the fall. But also when my hair sheds a lot when I wash my it I know then it needs a trim.
It was so crazy to see you with blown out hair lol. A stylist trims my hair only mostly because I have layers, I’m accident prone, and I have no hand eye coordination 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ Great video as always and I think you did a great job!
Hey KandidKinks!🤗🤗🤗🤗 Welcome back,as always, and your hair is looking super GORGEOUS!!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 I do at home trims about every 3 months and dusting when needed. Because I have fine 4c hair, I stretch my hair with magnetic rollers before trimming. Still on the fence about Revair blowdryer. Trying to decide between Dyson and Revair. Been using low heat, which feels pretty cool, to give hair a little more stretch.
A hearty welcome back Lexi 😁😁😆😆. I trim every 6 months at the salon, I tried the home trim with hair in a twist recenty and I'm not a fan of it so I will not probably not do that again. Love the look. Is your hair bra strap length now? Which gives better view of what needs to be trimmed silk press of just blown out?
Do you know how many times I’ve OVER trimmed? I had to stop and just decide go to a professional. This year alone, I’ve trimmed off about 4 inches of HEALTHY hair. My hair grows super fast but I can barely tell this year since I kept cutting a bunch of hair 😒
How do you clean your shears that’s the question I’ve been stressing over cause they are quite expensive 😬 and I want to make them last for as long as possible
Your hair is deceptively long and thick. When it's wet or in a twistout, you can even tell it's as long or as thick as it is. That's some serious shrinkage; I guess it's a good problem to have though. TFS!
Now see I like your trim. My stylist would've cut all the hair off that was "see through" per se. So I walk in with a nice length and leave out shoulder or neck length. 😒
It depends on how well you look after your hair and how often you trim. My ultra-fine hair really needs to be trimmed every 6 weeks. One week in the holiday sun gave my hair one inch of damage. My hair is damaged easily. My stylist caught it quickly and because I went to him within 6 weeks of the damage. So he treated my hair with bond repair treatment and I have been diligent with my alternating weekly protein and moisture treatments and weekly protective styling. He cut half an inch. I just cut eighth of an inch at home and at 8 weeks he will cut another half of an inch. So my stylist is cutting 6 weeks of damage which is hardly anything. Now if you go to the salon ever 12 weeks or 24 weeks and you don't take care of you hair that's why the stylist has to cut off inches. The damage travels faster than most of us can grow our hair. I'd say everyone should check their end ever 6 weeks and self trim. Then if you still want to go to the salon go ahead. Coarse hair needs trimming less than fine hair and 3a hair needs trimming less than 4c hair.

Why did you go back to a relaxer 🤔

Definitely saving this for future reference. I too don't really care if my hair isn't leveled. I don't see myself straightening it anytime soon.
