I have a question. Some UA-camrs with natural thick long hair say DON’T trim that it’s “ridiculous” others like you, with gorgeous healthy hair, encourage it. So I’m a little confused 😅 because I’m growing my hair and I don’t know when it’s necessary to trim. I did a big chop after bleaching my hair (which I’m NEVER DOING AGAIN) so my hairs are like 5 inches.

I found that trimming my hair makes my hair grow longer, because I had too many knots and tangles, I had never cut them, and my hair didn't grow because the knots broke it, my hair didn't pass my nose, now my hair is growing a lot, my mom would tell me "you don't have the genes to grow long hair" and now she's surprised (i cut my hair without her knowing because she would kill me, i'm 15), I also trimmed my sister's hair because of knots and it's also growing a lot.

Great video! I was always told if you want your layers to grow out just leave them alone. Dont trim them! I have waist length hair. Good tip about good hair shears! They need to be good quality, and really... don't go cheap on shears!!! Mine are razor-sharp (brand Ultron, I'm in the EU/Belgium) and they have to be because I have very thick hair, fine hair, but a lot of it! I used to have regular drugstore shears and they "sawed" through my hair, a sign that they aren't sharp enough, they really need to "snap" make that cut easy.
