You make it sound like steel buildings are more expensive, but as someone who is in the process of building a 60x60. My steel building is a third of the price. Will last longer then the wood , especially if you sinking the poles in the ground with the concrete.
i mean maybe... The poles yes.. our 80 year old pole barn needs all the support poles in the front replaced.. my building is about 80ft long and 50ft wide. 6 stalls, center can fit about 6 cars, and a workshop on the otherside that will fit 1 car, 3-4 inch slabs in the workshop area and horse area at least for the horses walk way anyway, its a board and batton barn.. I mean 80 years is a long time mine lol. 6x6 beams are only 56$ in lows, its just the work of swapping em out. The main reason my poles rotted is due to decades of prior owners not replacing the gutters. If the gutters were replaced that wouldnt have been an issue. Mine arent in the ground, theyre on cinter blocks above ground but the blocks go down the frost line 3 feet down.
