Yes absolutely
But its quality is so bad.. What would you do if daily you first need to push it from back to start it as it have so much starting problem. If you do stand it idle for 2 -3 days it will never start by self even if you use chock. Its not only me who face this problem but every second buyer who purchased it feel so guilt as same as i feel right now from the day i buy it..

@@manojk1330 obviously t would be bad, UM is bought by Chinese and they have been producing cheap Chinese knockoffs of Japanese/ American motorcycles and selling them in the Indian markey at a premium. Hope people do basic research on the brand and it's history or atleast look at it's wikipedia page before investing your valuable money.

RE Classic 350 was my first option, after looking at Commando on the internet it caught my attention and thought of going for this later came to know that Commando is identical to Avenger in height. Since I'm 6.2", I own a Classic now.
Don't but this bike at all. The company is one of the biggest frauds. There is no proper supply of spare parts. Neither there is any assistance from customer care no. No one ever picks up the call ever. I also bought this bike and seriously fed up with this bike.You may be thinking it may be the problem with one service centre, but I have a transferrable job and I went to three different service centers in different cities, everywhere it's the same story. Every bike has some issues but if no proper service support is given than it becomes pathetic to own this bike. Even if you get faulty parts from the company than also you will not be replaced with new one free of charge. They will charge you full amount. This happened with me. My bike lockset was creating fault, hence I replaced it with new lockset costing Rs.1300. But the new tank lid which came with new lock set was faulty. It was creating air gap in the fuel tank because of which fuel was not flowing through the pipe. They told me that it will be replaced free of cost because it was a faulty one. But it has been 8 months nothing got replaced. Now i am using my old tank lid instead of new one and because if this I have to use two keys for my bike, the new one for ignition and old one for tank lid. My bike has wiring issues also. I asked them to fix it they told me that I have to rewire the whole bike which will cost me around Rs 8000. My rear wheel spocket is also having problem and whole rear wheel is to be replaced which is costing Rs 12000, I am even ready to pay after these all but agian there is no spare parts available. And this is only few issues which I am addressing, other than this there are several issues which company never take cares of. Once you buy it than company forgets you. After this even I am holding on to this bike only because of one reason and that's it was my first bike from my hard earned money, kind of a dream one. Other than that there is nothing holding me to sell this bike. Believe me don't even think of buying this bike. Because for some people it may be kind of dream like me and its all about there hard earned money. And still if you want to waste your money or you have alot to invest kind of rich than go for it. But if you are middle class like me and its about all your hard earned money than don't even think about giving it a shot. If you have any doubts go to the UM customer care site and call to customer care no. You will find your answer.

i road the Renegade Commando at the Gurgaon dealer and bike was awesome.,salesman was clear to me saying it was a pre-production bike,,.the bike rides much better than my RE classic, specially the acceleration was superb. kudos to UM USA designers,,,.i am sure the common man in India will love these bikes,,.my RE is now for sale after this test ride! time for a change...
can you do a review with the updated bikes too?

70 KM PH in 1st gear? UM is crazy.
Yes Crazy for good! Finally cruisers under 2 lakh that can perform for our market! Liquid cooled, 4 valve, 25bhp engine with 140 km/h top speed... Will be sharing my demo ride and booking experience, awesome bike overall. Aligning turn signals, handlebar and water in side leds dealer showed me it was addressed for mass productions, I will see when I get my bike!
Yes the gearing is quite strange.
The handlebar is excellent, better than any other cruiser. The handlebar positioning and shape is the biggest drawback of REs. I got neck pain after riding 2 hours continuously on RE Bullet 350.

How good is the renegade when it comes to covering long distance? And also the spares in Zambia 🇿🇲, i have a CBX750p with a knock engine and it's been 2 years now can't the engine.
mileage please ? any idea where is the showroom in bangalore ? i have seen many negative comments on RE due to vibration, servicing issues and maintenance cost. confused which one to buy either RE or UM

Is it having good service backup?
My Friend bought the Commando 1 year ago..On Road it costs approx 2 lakh.Initially it was all good then problems started to appear. You have to ride it very softly or else It won't last.The Service is pathetic.Spare part isn't available most of the time. Body vibration will give you an irritation to such extent that you will prefer to ride your old bike/scooter for daily commute. TBH this bike should cost around 70-80K.Resale value is very low.

I took a test ride of commando today , it looks good. Wider wheelbase , bigger tank , 6 gears ,stylish looks ,comfortable sitting . But the cons are that it was having a low rpm not as much stronger as RE , gear shifting problems ,i felt power is lesser than RE ..
I had visited the UM showroom and they said they were pre production model which were given for test rides. After receiving the feedback they have fixed those issues. Can AUTOCAR do a review now in 2017 and update if Quality and Fit and Finish is improved? Please reply.

I am having the latest... Commando model for about an year.
Many of the problems have been dealt with, and with extra new features.
I heard its not launching model. After poeple rewies they renovating all these models.
Can anyone tell if the green colour is going to be available in the Indian market?

I checked out this bike... Make is really good...its vibe free unlike REs.... Switches are not backlit and very basic...Hope UM would fix this ...nice alternative fa cruisers...

@@mahfuztuhin8601 No sir, it has a manufacturing unit at Kashipur, Uttarakhand and it's 50:50 join ventured with Lohia Auto, India. Also it's now a Chinese brand and it discontinued in India.

i visited the showroom in nashik the bikes looks very cool specially commando but i didn't got the testride they will start testride from coming saturday . i like the bikes and love to have them between my legs.

Most probably not
End product is what buyers will get. Preproduction bikes are just for show, not for sale and usually still some details are to be improved. ,,.. This was explained to me during my test ride two days ago...
Yash ask your dealer to share with you. These demo bikes that are in UM dealers pan India are bikes that where manufactured a couple of months ago.
Since then they have improved the fit and finish details we have commented and have implemented for mass production and delivery bikes.. I hope they live up to the promise.. Cant judge the quality after 20,000km at least...

Please go and try both bike like I did.. RE 350 engine vibrates heavily after 80kph.. UM you can feel a very small buzz but at 140 kph! See the review again!
I think avenger cruise Is better, they need to sold it around 1 or 1.3 lakh. At this price point many of us going to buy re instead.

I had booked a renegade commando in new Delhi, cp showroom last month..they said delivery expected in November..the first batch of bikes coming out this month.
me2.. November delivery.. seems they are fully booked and catching up with demand.. color you chose>? we need to create some kind of riding club in Delhi,.
my bike is due for September but I'm becoming sceptical seeing the comments here...can u share ur views please...I booked from CP only but the test bike was in a poor condition..now I'm thinking of RE...:/

Define your use . City commute, highway, offload? Test ride them all and decide what you want then.. Himalayan is good for rough, adventure rides but poor as daily use bike and engine has 24bhp even being a 410cc, it is oil cooled and only 2 valve. RE desert storm is a cute, classic, vintage bike with poor performance, old technology, push rod air cooled engines with 20bhp that vibrate like hell but that are nice for city use. also you will find yourself with many look a likes in many traffic lights! Renegade Commando is new breed of rugged looks, size, comfort and performance with 25 bhp, 4 valve, liquid cooled engines that have takeoff and top speed. good for city and highway use alike. And finally decide if you follow or want to be followed! Hope this help in your search... I am in the same process..

Yes. Assembly plant in Kashipur. Interesting facts I was able to pull out from dealer principal ; 70% local India integration on these bikes and big name local and worldwide component suppliers.. Gabriel shocks, TVS tires, Endurance brake systems, Minda, Hilux, Bosch germany... I recommend if you are really interested in bike to visit your dealer and validate with your own eyes... ;)

Minus points for rear drum brake.
Guys in time u will see it for ursleves... this is gonna occupy a lot of share in 250 - 350 segment... provided if the UM motors give better services. Yeah I agree that it's bit costlier and less fuel efficient than RE, but it's totally worth it !!!!!
If the Sport S in matte black colour would be awesome! just like Sons Of Anarchy Harley Davidson. Tbh I like both. These cruisers are better for beginner rider.

I just booked mine. according to the price sheet Ex showroom price is 185000, Insurance is 6754, Road tax and registration is 21500, Accessories and handling is 3500 Total is 217000. is this the price all over india?
