I unscrewed the bottom screws for all 4 climbing sticks and installed 4 with steel wires, aiders for my novix climbing sticks. I can get up to 30 feet plus
When I first did hang and hunt I watched tons of videos and got ideas but the best learning curve was just going out back and hanging it up and getting down. Go slow at first and think about the tips and tricks as you go and try them. Most of the ones I thought were cool didn’t work for me. You’ll find your own rhythm
Love those rubber bungee straps, that's exactly how I carry in. I cut a pocket out of a pants and my buckles get wrapped in that, and strapped behind the bungee. It's quick, quiet, and simple. Also I carry the stand with seat up towards my head so in event I slip the sharp platform grips are pointed down
Took nearly 25yrs off from deer hunting until late last season. Didn't even know what a climbing stick was back then. Trying to figure out how to become a mobile hunter on your own is pretty damn intimidating, especially when it comes to getting in a tree safely, regardless of the apparatus. I've looked at saddles, climbers, and now seriously looking at the beast stand. Without having someone to help me learn personally, I've basically committed to primarily ground hunts, but vids like this really help out. If I do end up with a beast stand Im sure I will need this video several more times. Thanks for taking the time to help newbies, Josh....and greetings from the Evansville area.
I'm with you on the cam straps. I have the lwcg doubles and still use the cam buckles. I find them easy and proven safe. Another thing about hunting height, I find higher isn't always better. I use only 3 of my 4 doubles. I set up above the lowest branches of smaller understory trees. The branches and leaves help hide me.
Josh. U look so gorgeous and that stand looks so perfect on your back hanging from those big brod shoulders. I hope some day they come out with a ultra light double beast stand so we can enjoy the great outdoors together...
I'm a sit n climb guy but interested in a platform setup. Is there a video for climbing a tree with small limbs in the way? How you you do use your linemans in that case ascending/ descending?
This is the proper way to hang a stand (though I would have put the stand a little bit lower) but most importantly always hang your stand below your linesman belt
Any system is good when you practice with it until it's reflex. Been using a saddle with linesman belt as a safety harness while putting up similar set ups, very secure.
Very helpful video. Always hunted with climber stands. Want to start hunting with lock on stands. Can get into many different trees. Many good ides to help tou get in and up faster and more quiet. What kind of sticks are you using?
The only problem with those Rubber Budgies is in COLD weather they loose their elasticity. Here in Soprano Land Police pull over and give out tickets if you use them on ladders to Roof Racks. Ladders used to fly off the Van Roofs because of it.
I would love to hunt mobile like this but my deathly fear of heights won't allow it. Even watching Josh climb the sticks made me nervous, ladder stands are the best I can do.
Good video. Just a thought from. Primos guy, don’t ever leave anything on the ground. That pool noodle has enough sent on it to spook deer that would never get you in the air. Great video man. I’m stuck on my JX3 Harmess or summit climber. But this is very portable. Youd be surprised how many thick trees I can climb with my harness on and hunt at 8 to 15 feet without a single stick. Man I love deer hunting.
Great video Josh- your content is informative and inspiring! One question, how do you raise your bow within this routine? I have only raised with para into a ladder stand. Is it hanging somehow or resting on the ground? Thanks!
Hey Josh, enjoy your videos, question: how long is the stand when laid flat out, from the v bracket to the seat? I know that the platform itself is about 29 inches, how much longer is it when folded flat. appreciate the help
How do you pull your bow or gun up to stand when set up? I will usually have a parachute cord tied to my belt loop down to bow. It can kind of be a circus at times with all the cords and straps moving around.
Dan, I got the stand and love it. But I do have a concern, I don't know if it's from the standoff distance to strap attachment point, or just the width of the bracket, but I noticed on a number of trees even with all the slack taken out the strap is hitting the bracket. Am I missing something here or is this normal? Can't say I've experienced this with any other stand
Its normal... Put the strap on at a 90 degree angle, and when you cam lock it, ir it slides down, sometimes there is contact with the strap. Mostly on larger trees. Shouldnt hurt anything.

Thanks for sharing! New to hang and hunts with this type setup. These tips will help
find a nice easy straight tree and climb it 2x a day for a couple weeks and it will be second nature bro.

Thats awesome
Tbw podcast is a great resource. Jason is very beginner friendly and breaks things down in easy to manage chunks
Hey Josh, what kind of linesman belt do you use? Also hardness?
I enjoy your videos. Some helpful tips and ideas, thanks

Your bow is amazing man! So cool!

Just buy one and set it up in a tree directly across and gaze lovingly into his eyes.

Does it look familiar lol

Hey Josh, great video thanks for sharing your set up!! That aider you showed a picture of does that just connect to the beast button on the stick?
I would not recomend an aider be used from a button. Buttons cant support downward weight like the steps can
Josh that was good video. Thanks Dan! Josh that stand looks light as a feather when you were hanging it!!
Ha it is
Nice system. nice bow too

Jason Samkowiak style
I was going to say the same thing. This is EXACTLY JS’s method

Thanks Josh, the pool noodle is a great idea!

Eastern woods outdoors one stick method can’t beat it for mobile hunting
Good video Josh. A guy needs to find what works for him and run with it.
Easy to assemble.

Need to check out the one stick method with the saddle video was great but in my opinion one sticking with the saddle is the best way to go
I just struggle a bit shooting a longbow out of a saddle
What length Beast sticks are you using? Thanks for sharing.
How do you pull your bow or gun up to stand when set up? I will usually have a parachute cord tied to my belt loop down to bow. It can kind of be a circus at times with all the cords and straps moving around.
I just carry some 550 cord with me and attach it to my belt loop or my harness... nothing fancy

Great video, pool noodle all the way. Are you running a modified rock climbing harness?
Yeah it a pretzl
Are those the kifaru x ray backpack straps?
Yep
How much higher can you get with your aider.?
How high can you get with the 3 sticks I looking to buy set up but was trying to figure how many sticks to get
about 15
Ok awesome I probably go with 4 than thanks
Where can I get one of those stands
www.huntingbeastgear.com
How much to make someone a bow like that Josh?
Who long did you let the wood set to dry for the bow… that’s awesome
he mentioned 2 years in the beginning of the video
@@dleemt guess I missed that part. Lol
How long did ya let the wood set and dry
2 years cut it in March of 2019
its too bad that stand is almost $600, looks great and lightweight too, just a bit overpriced still.
Very annoying watching someone using one hand to make a video, can’t you use a tripod for the camera?
