Thanks for showing this in real time. Is that the standard amount of noise you make when getting up the tree? I am just starting out hunting and am always concerned with making the tiniest noise so it takes me almost a half hour to get up the tree and settled in. Am I being too cautious?
Only time i worry about noise is don't want metal hitting metal. Otherwise the woods is loaded with natural bodies from squirrels, and bird and branches falling etc. I only worry about metal on metal
That's the key right there! Watch how people do things and they take away from it what will work good for you and then tweek what doesn't so thst you get a perfect system for you

The strap stager makes weight almost a non issue. Luv the platform size as it’s a few inches bigger all the way around then my WindWalker and it’s rock solid in the tree!!!!!
@davidsisamis1595 had a strap on hook 3 times and left all 3 in a tree by accident. They are great but I have a condition where I seem to often forget them.
@caseymclamb5890 these were straps that hunting beast had a close out on a couple years ago as the color came out wrong so they were selling them for 3 bucks a strap.
Well it all depends on what type of hangon system you have. Some take longer than others to set up and plus the type of tree youre climbing in. If you wanna be in a tree where it has a lot of vines , branches and all kinds of junk around it will take me 45 mins to set up. But if im in a straight oak tree or any straight tree, 15 mins

@lukebonagurio4503 to be apples to apples comparison the harness had to be left out as many wear it in or use a harness that takes longer. I am harnessed in and being safe but man I have some work to do. Caming the stand in, thats even worse lol. Hoping with more practice I will feel comfortable.
@chadrichhart8095 yep many feel uncomfortable hunting from hang on stands. Best bet to get the comfort is to practice with one stick close to the ground and hang the stand and practice. And remeber you don't need to hunt high to kill deer. As long as you have cover 8 feet works just as good as 16 feet
@bluegrassdroneguy3495 i still do use the tether often. And tree with branches i will use a running bowline knot on the tether along with the lineman belt. Anytime it raining or i just feel like I want the extra security i will run the tether also. On a simple straight tree like this i usually just run the lineman belt as it's a simple non complicated climb and easy for me to keep my lineman belt tight and controled
@@SamkoTradBow you got to admit tho if a step or something breaks the linesman rope will not prevent you from falling down tree, takes a little more time and effort but better safe than sorry or injured. I Enjoy your videos Jason.

I am NEVER in a hurry. I take my time so I can minimize movement and noise. In the AM I often stand on each stick and listen for several minutes. It's not a race and when you rush you make noise, forget to do things (like take your pool noodle off) and you make a lot of movement deer that are close will see. I've had deer walk in while I'm setting up.... that would not happen if your rushing and make a lot of noise and movement. And the last point is it is far safer to take your time. I've shot deer off my 2nd stick going up and down the tree... I pulled my bow up and shot. There just is not a good reason to rush.
@davetoms63 better for safety yes. But as a guy that often in the rut and in hill country have to move 2 or 3 times a day because of thermals or just shifts because a doe walked theu 40 yards away and you know every buck will follow her and you have to move. In these situations speed and efficiency is paramount. I have been busted so many times trying to make a mandatory move. And if I can make that move in 12 mins system to finish vs 40 mins is really increases my offs of being set up again before the next wave of deer come thru.
@SamkoTradBow I do the same ... I practice all year with my stand and sticks, it doesn't take me long if I want to.... far less than 5 minutes..... and like I said I'm always ready to pull up my bow and shoot.... and movement and noise can alert deer.
