I'm looking at why the Export settings are grayed-out on Bridge for C4D 2024.3.2. It looks like you're running 2024.3.1 on Windows and it's available. The support page for the Megascans plug-in says support for up to R25 and (I think) 2023. I've downloaded and reinstalled a few times. Running on MacOS 13.5.2. I can try on Windows but haven't been able to get the plugin to work.
I've been following many tutorials on UA-cam, but I must say, this one is top-notch. It led me to create a scene with numerous troubleshooting solutions and expanded my knowledge. Thank you so much. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
im used to work with octane in c4d.. i wanted to try reshift because of the faster render times.. but it seems not so intuitive like octane. :/ octane you get faster better results.
Thank you for this quick tip. How would you tune the distribution? With a plain effector set scaling to -1 and a vertex map on the plane? Or is there a better way? Cause with a plain effector you can't really paint the density of clones. U can paint just the size down to zero. How would you paint the density? E.g. If you want areas with 100% density and others with less density. Is it possible to "paint" or influence the distribution of a cloner? Maybe that's not possible in C4D. Basics in all other 3D packages, but not for C4D, maybe.
@@effectatron Thank you for your reply. But I described only one way? Seams it's not possible to paint the density of clones... Those limitations of C4D are so sad. But Maxon will never understand. Problem with a scatter tool is, you end up with thousands of real objects in the scene.
@Vannellus I read it as two. You can use the plain effector with fields. Or you can use vertex maps. Also the scattwr tool creates instances just like a cloner. You also could use proxies if you need a huge amount and don't want to slow down your scene. There are several ways. I think you are under estimating c4d.
@Vannellus yes you can actually. ua-cam.com/video/-Gu3Aw95eWs/v-deo.htmlsi=Pjn_LjvN-tk3Rd1f use a method similar to the one in this video. Combo of plain effector and vertex maps as a field
Useful tutorial as usual 👍

Some major tips in here. This is top tier 🔥
Thanks!

Thank you very much!
Great tutorial! Question, when do you prefer the cloner over matrix scatter when doing vegetation?
Count. 100k -> millions I do Matrix.
🔥
This is so useful
Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Absolutely great tut! Thanx Derek!
excited to learn about the windy field.
3MIN AD that is crazy lmao
You’re on a tear with these 3rd party library videos! 👏
So quixel is free to use in c4d?
Are there any subscription fees or anything?
Read their TOS :) free for personal use. not for commercial

I'm not sure I agree with you. But use whatever works best for you, there's really no wrong answer if you get the results you want.
@@effectatron never the less a great tutorial! I would love to see the tutorial with the windy field (wind simulation on the plants).
never mind i found it on your channel :D

All of those ways. Also you can use the scatter pen tool and literally paint them on where you want :)

@@effectatron Yeah, but it's still not possible to paint the density via vertex maps.
