easily one of the best videos of Turkey. as someone who literally has only heard of Istanbul, Antalya and Bodrum this is a great breakdown of the cities! I have visited Istanbul and loved it. amazing country and people. I know to stay away from Fatih and the city with young kids now lol please do more of these videos! they were thorough and honest. I love that!
I lived in Istanbul in the 1960s and I loved it. We lived in a really sweet two bedroom apartment in Etalier. It was a great place to live, we even had a lovely view of the Bospherus Straits and loved watching the ships passing through.

I was initially drawn to this video because I was interested in finding out a little more about Istanbul as I often watch an excellent cooking show from there with a lady named Ayensur. Love the Turkish food she prepares , and was intrigued by the the glimpses we get when she is out and about shopping.... This was a great over view--thanks for the price estimates to rent. You are literally are the most accurate channel who introduces Turkey. Some people make it seem too Western while some of them them make it seem too Eastern. It is really somewhere in the middle. P.S Sorry for my English

I spent two weeks near taksim, it's loaded with hustlers and beggers who will sell you a bottle of water for 10 liras and if you give them a larger bill don't expect the change back. Just visited the Asian side and loved it. Perfect in every way. Thanks for helping. Your information is a great guide. 👍

My Friend lived in Bomonti, great for food, a whole road full of places, good mix of folk and local restaurants too, great to get everywhere....i stayed on the dodgy side of Omer Haymaan,(so could walk up the hill to Bomonti)..... from my place I discovered Kazimpasa, a great little area, very local and few expats, also with the ferry to Karakoy every hour, and lovely views from that small dock area... but my favorite area is the Tom Tom area road down the hill towards Topanie and also the Karakoy tool shop area....great walks lovely area...Ive been bitten by the Byzantine virus,.Kolie gelsin, and Sonra Gorusuruz!!

It's been 9 months since you posted your question and no answer. I would recommend Kadiköy and for familes Göztepe is great. Safe to live, really good shopping, goid parks and "your own" beach in Caddebostan. I know a bunch of Scandinavians with small children living there.
It depends on your budget and culture Also if you are looking for conservative community or Western open community Cause some immigrants are conservative Muslims . Let me know what you are looking for

When I visited Istanbul, I stayed in Hilton Hotel -Bomonti ,seen in the video . It is truly a nice place and yes it is a walking distance to Taksim Square or just one train stop. . This is very helpful - thank you! Something to keep in mind is how walkable are the areas - are there a lot of hills or is it mostly level? That's something that can be difficult to find out until you get there.
You explained very well! I have been in Istanbul many times and all you mentioned is ok but you missed talking about public transport. I think for tourists would be very helpful. Some beautiful areas are not very well connected with Metro and you have to take taxis or buses to get there. Traffic is a big problem!
Now I want to visit with your videos as a guide. I was there in 2005 for a course for 4 days and managed to see some parts of the city at night. Just loved the way the cats are looked after on the streets. Please do a video on the cats. !!!!

Been a lot's of times in Istanbul Didim bodrum around the Aegean coast . Very beautifull and my favourite country to move in the future. Turkey is the place to live. This is very helpful - thank you! Something to keep in mind is how walkable are the areas - are there a lot of hills or is it mostly level? That's something that can be difficult to find out until you get there.

You explained very well! I have been in Istanbul many times and all you mentioned is ok but you missed talking about public transport. I think for tourists would be very helpful. Some beautiful areas are not very well connected with Metro and you have to take taxis or buses to get there. Traffic is a big problem!

Now I want to visit with your videos as a guide. I was there in 2005 for a course for 4 days and managed to see some parts of the city at night. Just loved the way the cats are looked after on the streets. Please do a video on the cats. !!!!
