I've been living in Istanbul for 40 years, you analyzed better than me, bravo to you.
Wow that means a lot to us!! Thank you so much!
im so distracted by how the lady lovingly stares at the man when he's speaking. cute. lol
I thought I was the only one😂😂😂
Me too 😂
Creepy as fuck. Very cult like.
Haha.. Same here ❤❤
Look creepy to me 😂
As a Kadiköy native who has been living in the US for many years, I knew time would come for Kadiköy to shine. Someone at work the other day mentioned they went to Istanbul and stayed in Moda and I was pleasantly surprised Kadiköy is now a choice :) Although I hope it doesn't have the same fate as Beyoglu and become overly touristy.
I’m living in Beyoğlu but I like Kadiköy because of the many food shops and the much more favourable prices in the restaurants and bars.
I always stay right in the heart of Sultanahmed in Peykhane str.
Best location for a week long visit to pack in all the sites and shopping.
Bus 51 runs from Balat though to Taksim to Sisli We have done it more than once as we have friends in both places.
I was just there, stayed in Moda/Kadikoy... best district imho... then moved to stay in Fatih, very central, close to everything. Istanbul is a Megapolis and a week ain't nothing. Gotta go back to explore more. Great video guys!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the video! Yes we love it in Kadikoy! You are so right about the megapolis comment! It is hard to even scratch the surface in a week 😁!
Those visual representations on the map are so useful!! Great video
So glad you liked the video! You’ll have to tell us which neighborhood you choose to stay in!!! Hope you have a great trip!
So informative .. again, knowing which district lies roughly in what part of the city, helps and makes it so easy for us viewers to understand .. hence thanks for showing us that on the map
So glad you found the video helpful, thanks so much for watching!
Amazing and informative video. This channel deserves much more view, absolutely wonderful content.
That is so nice of you to say, thank you so much!! 🥰🥰
This was SO helpful and I am so grateful for the map demos and detailed explanations!! I am leaving next week with a few more nights to book and this video solidified where I want to stay. Thank you!!
Amazing review of the neighborhoods!!! 👏🏼
Thank you guys for sharing such a useful info. I am coming to Turkey by the end of this month on half marathon run. Hope to see some beautiful places and most probably catch up with you guys, thank you!
AB
Thanks for watching! Hope you have a great trip!
THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HIM MAKES HER SO CUTE . Good for her .
Beautiful description of Istanbul. By the way, Sultanahmet is misspelled at 3.35, I think.
We finally arrived!!! Get the Istanbul guide and enjoy with no worries!
Thank you so much!! This really means a lot to us!! 😍😍
@@WaypointofView We are back in the US😩😩😩😩😩. But plan to go back in December. Your guide help greatly and will help us again when we return. Hopefully we will meet next time around. Take care.
Cihangir or Karaköy is the best neighbourhood to stay in in my opinion.
Where were you having a glass of wine looking at the tower in the sunset? I sure would like to know. Thanks for the vidéo.
Thank you so much for organizing all of these materials! This video is clear enough and informative ❤ btw the way you two look at each other are so sweet. Love your work and please keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you very much. This video was awesome and saved me plenty of $$$ as I had booked a hotel that was more expensive than necessary and not in the type of neighborhood I prefer. Very much appreciated.
This makes us so happy to hear!! 🤗😍
Very nice, indeed. By the way, you realise that you covered approx. 40% of the neighborhoods only, right? Levent, Arnavutköy, Nisantasi, Sariyer, Beykoz, Hisar, Kanlica, etc.. are great places to reside, as well.
Thanks so much! Glad you like the video!! And we certainly realize there are many neighborhoods we did not mention 😂 and you listed a few of our favorites to visit! (Walking along the waterfront in Arnavutköy is amazing!!!) In this video, We were focused on recommending neighborhoods for people who are coming for their first visit and only have a few days short days to explore Istanbul. Maybe we will get the chance to highlight some of those other neighborhoods in other videos!!
@@WaypointofView Nişantaşı might be interesting for you to visit and explore. Just drive to Teşvikiye Mosque or to StRegis as your starting point to get familiar with the area. Enjoy my city of birth, which I miss very much since I live in Germany.
So informative! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Awesome video!! and I agree with everything you have said about the neighborhoods as that has been my exact experience during my Istanbul visits.
Question: Though I have visited Kadikoy but for a very brief period. Having said that, please suggest airbnb locations for a family of 4 adults in the Kadikoy neighborhood. Thanks
great review thanks a lot. I will visit next month…..
Hi whats the best family friendly place to stay with young kids and use of prams
Great tips with many options. Could you please comment on how long it would take going from sultanahmed to taksim using public transportation (and vice versa)? I noticed there aren't many rentals on the fatih site outside of sultanahmed.
Hey there! It will probably take around 30 minutes from Sultanahmet square to Taksim square.. there are a few different ways you can do it but we would probably recommend the T1 tram to the Kabatas funicular.
Also you should check out some of our other Istanbul videos.. we have a full video on public transportation you might find useful. ☺️ hope you enjoy your trip!
@@WaypointofView busesare easy too and go to most places .. and were cheap unsure as prices all doubled
either taksim or karakoy. someone also said kadikoy but i don't know where that is. i need to go music shopping so i was told to go to taksim.
This was really useful thank you
I spend 6 months a year traveling the world. You make really great videos
Thank you so much!!
Great video, very informative 😍
I’m gonna buy the book. I need the best Hilton near the kempenski cirigan. I would like a place near tram… and where the action is…
This is a Truly great video and just what I need! I am visiting the city for the very first tine for 18 nights in January 2025. I want to see and do as much as posssible and try tio capture as much footage for my UA-cam channel too! What would you reommend> A week in the galatica port area, a week in faitgah and maybe 3 or 4 days on the Asia side ???
You guys are so sweet. Nice video and very informative! Love and peace ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!

As an Algerian i really would stat again in aksaray
Good changing rate good prices, alive AT night safe even AT 1 in thé morning very cheap well connected to all the areas with a tram and a subway
Video interessa bravi👍👏..mi chiedevo ma voi fate anche la guida li sul posto per aiutarci a girare instanbul ?
Thank you for this useful information.☺️ I have a question, how do you find Istanbul in terms of safety?
hello, thanks for the video, what about barkirkoy? Is it far from the historic center? I found a hotel there that I would love to stay, we will have a guide so we should go for two days to see the main tourist points and then we would stay more at the hotel 😊 we have 5 days in Istambul total
Bakırköy will keep you in the center of the city.
Thank you. I’m planning a holiday. How do i contact you?
Super helpful! I'm going in 2 weeks
So glad you found the video helpful! Hope you have a great trip!
Very helpful video! Any recs for the best place to stay for a family with kids? First time in Turkiye and staying for 2 weeks.
For two weeks you might not want to be in Sultanahmet for the whole time. Depending on how old your kids are the hills in Galata might be tough. Karakoy could be a good option! Easy to hop on the tram to get to the historic sites or the Tunnel metro to get up to Istiklal st. and it is not too hilly!
Hi thank you for this. I like Karakoy and im planning to come for 3 days to Istanbul. I just want to know would it be safe for me and my 8 year old son? We are alone and he isn't really into historical sites so much i thought the modern side might be more fun for him. What do you think is it a safe area for my son and i and fun? Thanks xx
I'd say nisantasi/ karakoy are arguably the better options as they are safe and close to pretty much everywhere by public transportation.... yet I agree with these guys, better way to experience the local life is on the asian side... from kadikoy to bostanci (seawalk) you can pick pretty much any district and you can't go wrong with any of them =)
What’s your take on the area in front of canal Istanbul the pasha train station
Where should I stay if I'm staying for one month. Vacation. Great video thank you
We would recommend an Airbnb in Kadikoy for a longer stay like that :)
in which 2-3 areas to stay with family for 20 days in istanbul?
is it wise to stay in a lovely hotel in bakrikoy? will travelling to tourists sites be hard
I've been to Istanbul and other cities in Turkey over a 2 month period. Im coming back and plan to stay on the Asian side this time. TOO MANY tourists and locals on the other side 😅
Do you recommend a hotel for families in Beyoğlu?
so helpful, thank you!!
So happy to hear that, thanks for watching!
Thank you , Great information
I love this 🎉❤😊Thank you ~ your both awesome 👏🏻 will be in Istanbul September 18-28th 2023
Thanks so much for watching! We hope you have a great trip!
Hello. Since I will be just 4 days in Stanbul during next winter, I am looking for an area (Galata, Askin ?!?) near bars/restaurants and main attractions. Which one do you recommend ? Thank you !!!
Can i ask, can i stay in Turkey for 1 year? If i yes, how much does it cost for visa or travel pass
Awesome video
I am looking for someone to guide me. Can I hire you or do you know if there is a service available?

Thanks,nice descripcion…Estambul si a beatifull city,this time I plan to be 3 weeks,I’m going to need your help…thank you
We hope you enjoy your time here!!
Hi, why you choose Turkey for long term stay?
I want to rent a house for 4 days there ..how it costs per day
Hi, enjoyed your video. We would like to know the best priced hotel in the historical area since we are only there for 5 days. Also, we want your guide but is it still relevant one year later? Agape! Sam and Kayla USA
Absolutely, our guides are updated every month with the most up to date information. The last update we did was on November 12th. There is a ton of information in the guide and if you are looking for hotel recommendations, we do have a section with about 30 different hotel recommendations throughout Istanbul organized by budget. You should know however that pricing fluctuates quite significantly so our budget ranges in the guide are just a general guide.
You guys have a lovely smile!
Thank you!
I heard the area around galata and taksim is unsafe?
Love your videos and want to buy your guide. Is the guide a pdf? Should I buy it on my iphone since that is what I will have with me on the trip? If I buy it on my computer can I share it with my iphone? Thanks so much!
Hi Jeff! Yes, it is a PDF. ☺️☺️ Once you purchase it, you’ll get a confirmation email where you can download the guide and you’re able to do that from both your phone and your computer (from that email).. so it doesn’t really matter which device you buy from initially. Please let me know if you have any other questions!! ☺️
Thanks so much. That's perfect. Just a suggestion. You might want to include that information on your guide home page so people don't hesitate to buy.@@WaypointofView
Great video. Planning to stay in Istanbul for a month next March 2025.
Thanks for watching, we hope you have a wonderful time!
When I watch your videos....it really make me can't wait to be there ...I'm hoping that disember will come very soon to me😅
We hope you have a great trip! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for sharing,
Can you pls recommend any accommodation options like apartments if there is any to say for 1 week?
Hi guys, I am currently in turkey and am wanting to rent in your area or within the surrounding neighbourhoods at least. Can you recommend a realestate agent and am I able to get something for $1000 usd a month?
Hello!! we are going to Istanbul, we are looking for a quiet place to stay, we go early to bed, we love to have a quiet sleep, so where you recommend to stay, having just 3 days to visit that area. my husband, and I are having so much fu watching your videos.
Based on the limited time, we would recommend you stay in one of the more centrally located areas so you can be close to all the main sites. Generally speaking, you shouldn’t have much trouble in the Fatih district with nightlife noise. I would check in Sultanahmet and Sirkeci.. just be sure to read the reviews of the specific hotels you’re considering to make sure there aren’t noise complaints. If you use a site like booking, you can even search within the reviews for something like “noise” to double check this.
Exactly what I needed, thnx
So glad you liked it!! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Be sure to check out our other videos on Istanbul too 😀
I will be there for 3 days and I still am more leaning toward your area as you said most don’t open until 9am and it’s only a 30 minute boat ride. I assume during bad weather the boats don’t run so is there another fast option?
Yes you can take the Marmaray line across :)
Well Done!
Great video
Thank you!!
I'm 2 weeks. I love street food. Cheap food, Im muslim Mosques nearby. I love historical sites. We don't party, Day people as well...any ideals?
can u be my tour guide when i come on may 7th 😭😭
Hi Jess and Myles! Can you please tell me what neighborhood we should stay for the best authentic food? It's our first time in Turkey, but we're only there for 3 nights. It's all about the food for us!
I would say Kadıköy on the Asian side.. somewhere on/around the Moda peninsula. This area has a really local feel and tons of amazing food options. Also you will still have close access to the public transit (ferry and Marmaray) to get to other areas of the city. Have a great trip!
you are so great! thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Very much informative. It’s beautiful to see how you stare at your husband/boyfriend
Got your guide- it's VERY useful and has lots of great info. Going to be in Istanbul in early Oct '23 and can't wait. Definitely feel more prepared after getting the guide!
That's SO awesome to hear, thank you so much for sharing! We hope you have a great trip!!
so how was your trip in october? mind to share here?
It was pretty amazing! We ended up hiring a guide for a day and it was well worth it. He took us to many recommended places in your guide and a few off the beaten path spots. He got us appointments at Cağaloğlu Hamam which was quite the experience! Your guide was especially helpful for just walking around Galata area and finding cool neighborhood restaurants and spots and what to eat! We had an Airbnb near Galata Tower w/ a view over the Bosphorus, but we walked everywhere. Did a sunset cruise, the bazars, the cisterns. One of the best trips and definitely want to return! Oh and on the way back to the USA we flew under the Northern Lights that were putting on a show over Greenland. It was a stunning end to the trip :) @@ismailwisnu8403
Where to find the park with cats?
nisantasi.
Is all of turkey & Istanbul accessible for people with disabilities & in a wheelchairs ♿️
I am sorry to say that I do not believe you will find Istanbul to be particularly wheelchair accessible. I believe there are some areas and sites that are accessible and you can surely find hotels and maybe even navigate the metro but Istanbul is a very hilly city and it has a lot of uneven pavement and challenging sidewalks. Access would be limited. As for the rest of Turkey, that would all depend on where you plan to visit and what you plan to do. I am sure there are resorts along the coast that are accessible as well as possibly a few museums but many of the ancient sites and old town centers might not be…
Nice video 😍
Thank you!!
Define “a few days”. Is that 2 days? 4 days? Less than 6 days?
I think we would say 3-5 days would qualify as a few days. If you are here for more than that, then we think you might have enough time to justify exploring options beyond the more centrally located neighborhoods! I hope this helps!
Hi
If we rent a property with a 12 month contract can we apply for TRC please at kadokoy
We are moving from UK
How about people with class : Nişantaşı
Interesante video 😊
Thanks so much for watching!!
Should we rent a car
We will be staying in sultan ahmet
We do not recommend renting a car for Istanbul… outside of Istanbul, yes.. but in the city, definitely not.
How about a nice American hotel for our limited budget ⁉️😂😜
True !
nice
Thank you for the great advice… do you have an email address that I can write to you?
Yes, it’s waypointofview@gmail.com ☺️
Hi there, sorry for the random question but wanted to ask someone who lives in Turkey. I'm planning to visit Istanbul arriving 16th April, and i noticed that Eid finishes on 12th April. I just wondering will everything such as shops, markets, touristy type things be open again the following week? Thanks in advance Kevin
I love turkey! I've already visited turkey few times but I need a new place to visit
