I got "instant locs" the other day, and it's basically just coils with a small amount of crocheting. I'm going to get them undone tomorrow and I plan on going go you in a few months because you're one of the few locticoans that actually does proper instant locs.

This looks great! Please inform as to why you are doing two methods for this style (palm roll and instant loc and or interlock) instead of just doing the whole loc with the instant loc way?
I do it this way because I get to show the client their parts make sure they approve of the parts and then we start to instant lock I used to do it as I went but I find this method organizes the process a little bit better. It’s not two methods per se we come coil the roots and the client is able to have a preview of their parting before we start and stop walking I would re-twist if I didn’t calm coil before the instant locking

Honestly there is not much you can use I’ve seen people use thumbles (finger condom) and other things to help their thumb and their fingers but I found that to be even more risky because you cannot feel the needle it takes a lot of practice to not cut yourself the more you practice the more it’ll be easier

ive always wondered this do they start budding and get longer or do they just stay the same as is throughout the whole locking process

Nope! You can comb them out, with a lot of patience lol UA-cam lock comb out and you’ll see examples

From what I hear in other videos the stiffness is temporary and they still kind of go through the same stages in terms of expanding and stuff
