I just made a batch for my husband. It will be a Christmas gift for him. He will be surprised! I never made them before, and he has hinted for several years for me to make him some. Thank you for sharing!
Not only did I make your delicious Buckeye candy…but I also made these Caramels! These things were absolutely amazing! They were the perfect texture! I’ve never made these before and the instructions were super easy to follow. Note: These were definitely made with a lot of love and patience. It was a slow process but totally worth it. 😊I gave these out as Christmas gifts and everyone loved them. Thank you!
What a lovely treat this became for gifting our neighbors and friends, all just loved it and the recipe was requested and passed forward. The best caramels all of us have eaten. The post office ladies just raved. When we had an extra gift left over we too it to them. When they saw my husband hold it up they immediately left the window to gather up the cherished parcel 😂. They told customers it had to be prioritized. Thank you for sharing your sweet recipe with this channel. Thank you for passing to us❤
Thank you Tom and Melissa for sharing my caramel recipe! I hope you do not mind that I answered some of the questions in the comments. Merry Christmas to you both 🎄
My father made candy every Christmas, my mother would cut wax paper into squares. Then we would wrap them and place in an air tight container. We also did this for Taffy. The paper never stuck to the candy. Christmas, my mother would cut wax paper into squares and then we would begin to wrap the carmels and we did the same for taffy. When done wrapping it would go into and air tight container.
@@heidebenedict894 I make these every year at Christmas. I have for 45 years. One year I could not find cut-rite waxed paper and had to get the store brand. I had to throw away that whole batch. It stick to the paper. I’ve never bought anything but cut-rite waxed paper since. lol it works perfectly.
That might be a wonderful addition. I hadn't thought of that, but I love salted caramel. . .everything. . .. so I'm betting you are on to something great.
My granddaughter and I watch you and she always says I wish Tom and Melissa were or neighbors. We're from Columbus, Ohio so now maybe we should find Tina and ask her to be our neighbor. 😊
My all time favorite candy with fudge running second, can you just see a tin with half caramel and half fudge bites. What a perfect gift. Thanks for sharing Brett and Tina, also a big thanks to Tom and Melissa.
I have had this caranel recipe for about 35 years now, i wanted you to know you can half the recipe if you want smaller batch and you stir appx 15 minutes. Also, my 16 oz Karo had exactly 2 cups, lol. I love your videos, you give such easy to follow directions. I also made your chicken dressing casserole with Stove Top and we all loved it, thanks again for sharing ❤

❤My grandma made a table full of candies every Christmas, caramels included! I missed those days and made lots of candies for several years. Now the local family is small so we just do dinner and a dessert or two. Memories are sweet too.

They will help cut and wrap (and eat) them. Thank you so much for sharing Tina’s recipe. Merry Christmas and God’s continued blessings 🙏 Issaquah, WA 🇺🇸
I have been making this exact recipe for years which came from a candy book. Tina is spot on! I make turtles with it which is my mail carriers favorite. She looks forward to it every year. These caramels are the best! I pour the caramel in a silicone square pan. After they have set up, I can remove the entire square to cut. They can be frozen too so they last longer.

You can also make wonderful caramel by just putting a can of condensed milk, unopened in a boiler. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Turn fire down to just keep it barely boiling. You will have to add boiling water to make sure the can stays covered. I lay my can on side. You cannot use one of the cans with the pop open tab.. BOIL FOR 3 HOURS. Remove from fire. Let cool until you can handle it.. open can and enjoy ……. IT IS WONDER.

Great video and recipe, guys and Tina! Thx for sharing. I love sc milk also, thought I'd share my hack for getting every last smidgen out of the can. Not having your patience, I take the paper off the can and open it and set it in a pan of really hot ( even boiling maybe? Lol. If I thought that far ahead) water for a few min. Run a case knife around the can and most of the contents plop right out. If the can is built like the older ones you could even pop a hole in the bottom and forego the knife bit. Also to make sticky stuff like syrup empty out of the measuring cup easier you can rinse it in really hot water first, and it'll run right out. Move fast tho so it doesn't cool down.
I made this caramel recipe, and they are wonderful. Smooth, soft, flavor perfect. A must try!!!
I am going to make some. Thanks Tina and Tom and Melisa❤

I love to make candy. I've been wanting to see someone make carsmels before l try it. Thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait to give this a try!
I make Buckeyes every Christmas and My Brother in Law always comments on the amount of powdered sugar 😍 It’s once a year and I gift most of them.
Looks so yummy...I'm going to get the ingredients today and give them a try. Thank you and thank you Tina!
You are so welcome! We hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
