      Unfortunately, until Twitch gives us the option to disable ads completely, there will always be complaints from both viewers and streamers. I am glad you found this video helpful though!

    Looks like i need to change my settings. Twitch has changed tgeir settings since i set mine up. I do 1 minute every 19 minutes to kill the pre roll for the hr, but looks like now im getting pre roll bc of their changes. When i set mine up, there wasnt the little pre roll bar to show me on my timeline ad bar.
    Thanks brother.

      Thanks for watching and I am glad the video helps. Currently, the best option through the ad manager is to run 90 seconds of ads every 30 minutes or (the latest update) 180 seconds of ads every 60 minutes. Hope your community enjoys less frequent ad breaks!

    I just read that Stream Display Ads don't stop midrolls, but this was in 2021 by someone on twitch on Twitter. Can't find any source they stop mid rolls

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  7 місяців тому

      No, you cannot stop mid-roll ads, and as far as my research has proven, you were never allowed to. What we can do is prevent pre-roll ads (partially or completely) depending on the duration and consistency of the mid-roll ads.

    Hey man thank you for this video! Im curious to what happens if I click the run 1m30sec ad, will it renew my preroll disable time?
    And is there an easier way to automatically run ads, maybe when I switch a scene?

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  Рік тому

      If you click the run ad button, it will add time to the pre-roll off timer. Twitch is looking to change this feature, though so don't rely on it. But it will not reset it. It is possible to auto-run an ad when you switch scenes, but that will require the use of a streaming bot, such as Streamer.bot (my recommendation) or Mixitupbot and others.
      If you need any bot help I do have some videos for that as well, but I am also available for hire to help you set it up and get everything going smoothly, if it is needed.

    Hey man don’t know if you’ll see this but when I’m in my settings for ads it says there is a error with revenue share or advertisement and I think that it’s stopping my ads from running

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  3 дні тому

      One thing I can promise, Twitch is running ads on your channel. They won't stop that for anything. There are a few reasons for such errors. Your exact one and what is causing it cant be discerned without more information. If you need to share screenshots or anything come over to the discord. We have the specific channels for such things and can get everything sorted pretty quickly.

    There isn’t an affiliate link for me

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  8 місяців тому

      Twitch recently made changes to their nav menu. Assuming you are an affiliate, the location is on the Twitch Dashboard, under "Monetization" >> "Ads

    • @beardedink

      @@Jenji. That is correct. Non-affiliates don't have ads running on their channels at all. Once you reach affiliate, though, that is when it all begins.

    I have the ads enabled and any of my viewers where able to see any ad at all!... i even asked them live and they said that nothing showed up.. do I need to add a new Web source for the adds on OBS?

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  10 місяців тому

      I am not sure I follow. The ads are shown by Twitch, it isn't an overlay. It is essentially an interruption to your show, replacing your stream with a commercial. The ads run on a schedule, that you can control (the schedule) and while you can run an ad manually, that will only be allowed if enough time has passed since your last ad break. Also, not all ads are replacement ads. Twitch also runs silent banner ads on the side or bottom of your stream. And lastly, subscribers to your channel, Twitch turbo users and Prime subscribers will never see an ad. Assuming you followed all the steps in this guide, your non-subscribed viewers will see an ad every 30 minutes you are live. Nothing else for you to do to make it happen.

    • @rodrigo6459
      @rodrigo6459 10 місяців тому +1

      @@beardedink yup.. all set up as you suggested and no ads are showing, I even created a new account making sure I was not paying any premium stuff, just the basic and still no add showed up even watching it from my TV, where clearly I can't have any ad-block running.

    but most viewers just use an adblock so they're not seeing ads regardless??

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  Рік тому +1

      Yes, a lot of people are using ad block, or Brave browser, but Twitch also has an API to detect this and after a certain amount of time you can be shadow banned which will result in the streamers and other chat members not seeing your messages at all until you remove the ad block or turn off Brave Shield. Also, for those that don't use these methods, you still need to have a best practice plan in place.

    If I run ads manually during a break, will it push out the automatic ad timeline?

    • @beardedink
      @beardedink  Рік тому

      Twitch *used* to add time when you manually ran ads with the ad manager turned on, but a few months ago said that was a glitch. The expected use is that running a manual ad break will reset the pre-roll timer but it won't add to it anymore.

      Assuming you are a Twitch Affiliate, then you want to head to your Creator Dashboard (click avatar on top right of main Twitch page). Then on the far left text menu look for "Settings" and drop open that menu and "Affiliate" will be at the bottom, under "Moderation" and "Streamer Survey"
