I'm going on 45 years soon and am forced into a career change due to a workplace accident that broke my neck and left me unable to continue my trade as a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician (heavy duty mechanic). I'm half through my degree in UAS and it has changed my life. I just started an LLC and bought my first dji air2s. 8 years ago I was living in a garage and my car with a dog. No hope.
I disagree with the idea that it's "exciting" that Amazon received FAA approval for drone delivery. These companies that want to deliver via drone do not like hobbiest drones in their airspace. They will fight behind the scenes to destroy the drone hobby, just wait and see.
I take my FAA Part 107 next month! When I pass I’m looking forward to all the opportunities that come with this. Any tips for someone new to this field and at an entry level/starter spot
@@JonathanRichey My next move is to practice a lot and get really good. I contribute to stock agencies so I'm planning to submit some shots there and incorporate it into my video production shoots.
@cin8films if practicing flying, I'd recommend two drone simulator games that can definitely help in flying confidence: Liftoff & TRYP FPV. Both games are available on steam & you don't have to risk crashing your own drone to practice. Goodluck!

Three more to add. -You Tuber: This guy! -You Tuber: Joe Tegmar and Zandler (+ others) have channels and fly and upload Tesla factory-build construction progress reports. Joe does this nearly daily and has many subscribers. -Here in CA fire zones the local power company SCE sends out drone teams to inspect power lines. Not just the big towers but also the wood phone pole's lines, insulators, and transformers. Wind damage causes weak components and these residential and forrest lines have been the cause of many wildfires so they want to stay on top of their liability.

I would Google 'wedding photographer near me' and start networking. Check their website first and see if they offer drone services in their wedding packages. If not, make a phone call or send an email. Introduce yourself, let them know how you can help them grow their business via wedding photos/video.
Searching for new apartments will only help you find realtors, not drone jobs in construction. To get those jobs you need to create a portfolio of the work that you have produced and then contact contractors.
Good question. Unfortunately I don’t know of any but that would be super helpful if there was. But, I can say this. Every drone job will be unique based on location, difficulty of the task, the required deliverables, how soon it needs to be done, etc. This might also be something I address in a future video.
I think it varies by state; I know here in NC a drone pilot who was doing inspections was told to stop because he wasn't a certified inspector. But I don't know if that is how every state operates. Thanks for watching!

Not quite. The FAA is not trying to ban drones, but there was legislation passed in the House that all drones made by DJI be banned. However that bill was not passed in the Senate. If you look up DJI on Instagram they have some updates on the situation that explain it in better detail.
Working for exposure is a sure way to turn your business into a hobby or to just go out of business. Ask almost every photographer... If your work isn't good enough to get paid for then you shouldn't want anybody to see it because you need to improve. If your work is good but the customer just doesn't want to pay and you give it to them for "exposure", you have a hobby not a business.

freelancers and companies are charging 15 to 17 dollars per acer for spraying, seems super way to make 100k under a limited time

Yes, before you start charging clients for money, you should be Part 107 certified and be insured.

Just start it and then advertise it. You dont need anyone to talk with you. You just need to have a vision for yourself and "Just Do It!"

Do your research thoroughly, the business is getting saturated with cheap labor. Was great five years ago.
