There could be a few reasons for this. It will depend on your settings and a few other factors. On the deck edit page look at the top right corner. Make sure it says "Connected" with a green wifi symbol. Also, make sure you are using the link to the URL from the "Launch Deck" tab and not the Edit Deck tab. Finally, if all of that is correct, click the little monitor icon (to the right of the WiFi symbol) to turn on remote connection and try it that way. Many tablets, phones and laptops won't push through your local connection and need the remote instance instead.

Go to the Commands tab and find your command for the lurk action. Double click the command to open the edit window and look on the left side under "Options" for the Sources check boxes. Make sure "UA-cam Message" is checked. This will alert the bot to check YT messages for the command also. Also, make sure you have a "Send Message to Channel" sub action for UA-cam, or else there will be no lurk message sent to the YT side. (right click in sub actions panel>>UA-cam>>Send Message to Channel)

Do I have to be streaming for the commands to activate? I have it all set up for both Twitch and UA-cam, but UA-cam refuses to display it. I even setup to send a simple message to UA-cam and still it refused to display. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

@@StompGojiStomp Have you been live on UA-cam since connecting SB to the YT account? If you have not, this will most likely be why, as there is no user data to pull information from and the subaction will just fail. For non-user info stufff (alerts, send message, etc) you have to be live on YT for them to appear. YT API doesn't have an "always on" chat like Twitch does

That is what the "Default Voice Alias" selection box on the Settings>>General tab is for. I apologize for glancing over this part and not going into more detail. Simply set up a voice alias (I named mine "Default Voice") and add everything just like you do for a named voice. Then on the General tab select that voice from the drop down (bottom left corner). Now when someone who has voice permissions uses the TTS command, it will default to this voice alias if they do not have a specific one assigned.

This will depend on several factors, such as how you are pulling in the song information, what song service you are using (I assume Spotify) and how your actions and sub actions are set up. Somewhere you will have a send message to chat sub action that pulls the song info and triggers this message sub action. You can disable this send to chat section and create a sub action that does only this feature with a command trigger.

In the meantime, don't forget that you can always go to the "Action Queues" tab then the "Action History" tab and find the command you just ran/tested/ Right click on it and choose "Inspect Variables After Run" This will show you the entire list of the variables (on the left) and what they were populated with (right). From here you can tell if you are using the right variables to get the information you need.

@@banditscorner9164 Yeah, it can be tricky at first. But basically the action history list tells you what is being called (variables) and what is being populated in those variables. For example the user name may use the variable %targetUser% and when you look at the action history log, you will look for "targetUser" on the left hand side. If it is there and the right hand side is blank, that means there is an issue populating that variable. If "targetUser" is not there, it usually means you are calling for the wrong variables (using "from user" instead of "from input" in your send to message sub action. Etc. But, it is a place to start. PS bits use %bits% for the number of bits received. Populated by the "get target info from who redeemed" sub action ;)

Hi, thanks for watching! The short answer to your quiz question is: yes. There are several ways to go about it, with the most popular (and cleanest) to use C# code and a few commands/actions. You can also do it purely within SB by utilizing the read/write to file sub actions, delays and random line codes.

@@TokiGK Yeah, most things will be done in sub actions. I would start with an action named "chat replies" and use the write to file sub action. Have it add the %rawInput% from a command to a file. So if your chat says "!quiz my answer here" then "my answer here" would be added to the file. You can then use those answers how you see fit.

Twitch has made a few changes to the dashboard since this was released. The Ad Manager is now found under Monetization>> Ads from the left-hand navigation panel in the dashboard

I am glad you found it useful! And yes, I know what you mean. Unfortunately, using only the Twitch Ad Manger is not going to get you what you want. Even setting it as stated, you will always have that first 1 minute of pre-roll. The main problem is that even set to 1 minute, the ad break can show up any time between 1 and 4 minutes, with the average (I've found) to be about 2:45 after going live. Which, will be 61 to 63 minutes until the next ad break. The best way to get what you want is to disable the ad manager completely, and use a bot (such as streamer.bot) to manually control your ad breaks. This is what I do and I run my 1st ad break at 35 seconds after going live and then every 63 minutes after, using a timer and chat messages as reminders. The bot runs the ads, displays the messages and alerts me when they are over as well. I will be doing a full tutorial on this for streamer.bot in a few weeks.

Ok so if I well understood if I want to get the full control of my adds I've to turn the Twitch ads manager off and launch my own ones either thanks to a bot set up such as Streamer Bot or manual commands from stream decks such as the Elgato one or Touch Portal, right?

@@GuiDaFunkyMan Yes, that is correct. IF you happen to use Stream Elements, Nutty made an ad widget that will alert you when an ad is running and have a visual timer for when it is on-going. That is a much faster set up. You can search for "Nutty Twitch Ads Suck" to find the video. I prefer to have everything in one place so have moved away from everything except Streamer.Bot, but it is an option for you

THank you for your kind words and for having a look at my video! To answer your question: No. Not natively. Nate has avoided this for several (really good) reasons. But there is a small need for it. To that end, there IS a solution. TerrierDarts has created an extension for SB that allows mods, subs, etc to add, edit, delete and list commands. These are basic commands only, so no full-feature commands, but it does work. I find it a bit clunky and it is easy to just add a new command in the bot post-stream, so I do not use it. I have added it to my install to test it and check it out and it is pretty flawless. You can find the instructions and import code for it here: extensions.streamer.bot/docs?topic=101

Thank you for watching and for a wonderful question! What you are talking about are called variables. Unfortunately there isn't a list of every possible variable SB uses. Well, not in a single list anyway. (perhaps I should make one!) What you can do, though, is figure out what your action is (running an ad break, for example) and head over to streamer.bot and then click on "Docs" in the top right. This will open a pop up where you can search for your action. Find the result you want (Twitch Ad breaks or similar, and read through the various options for those actions/sub actions. The variables you can use for those sub actions will be listed there. Good luck!

As for capturing the chat... in OBS you can do a window capture, but as of right now there are no configurations for transparency or colors of the chat box itself, so you will have to work around that. UA-cam is very finicky with their API variables. For the image you *can* use %userProfileUrl% but it still doesn't work in commands, only events and as set variables. Lots of workarounds to make things work. you can still use the %user% to get their name for the hug commands, just make sure that you select the UA-cam options on the command creation window instead of Twitch (which is selected by default)

Also, don't forget you can always test the action and then head to your Action Queues Tab> History and right click on the action selecting "inspect variables after run" to see the list of variables used by the command to get the specific results you need.

@@beardedink wow. I honestly didn't thought you'll reply. And I know it will be too much to ask you but can you make a streamer.bot tutorial for UA-cam live stream. I wanted to make a command for eg. !punch (username). Anyone can redeem it with points and this will show the msg on my overlays as (redeemer) punched (username) and their (username) profile pic is displayed and punches comes (media source green screen) and punches them. I hope I am able to get my point across.

@@beardedink you also showed in the video how to get timed msgs for stream.bot to show your commands for eg !punch or !laugh without him triggering the command themselves.

Actually, yes, I do. I am making a full tutorial on the chat feature. In the mean time, though, yes, the chat uses different variables. So %user% becomes %username% for example. You can go to your Actions Queue and inspect variables (after run) to see a list of the variables pulled by the chat for various actions. Or wait for my tutorial LOL

Thanks for checking out the video! Without seeing your sub actions and set up I can only guess. First guess is that you are using the wrong Add User Info and don't have it set to "Front Input" so it isn't pulling the names into the variables list

@@beardedink ive rechecked it and have it set to "from input", but it still behaves the same. I found a workaround that behaves similar and intended though! I switched the "from input" to variable and enter rawInput as the variable. From there, i changed the Logic if/else operator from "does not contain" to "is null or empty". It behaves the same as what you showed to first initailly set it up and you can @ any user =3 Took a bit of time but im glad I knew some coding logic to find a work around xD

@@SyncAh I am glad you have a work around. Do be careful with the rawInput though. As now you can "hug" any word or phrase. I would suggest running a few test hugs and using the rawInput[1] variable so it only takes the first word (hopefully a name). Likewise, if you want to figure out why the initial method didn't work for you, you can join the discord and post your sub actions and screenshots in the "streaming-help" channel and I can have a better look. :)

Channel point redeems have been added to the list! Channel points aren't much different from other actions and events. But you must ensure you create the point redeem in SB and NOT in Twitch. If SB doesn't have control of the redeem, they won't ever trigger.

Voice Commands and advanced scripts like keyboard presses are a bit beyond this tutorial, but will be included in a future tutorial! Basically though, they work like everything else. You make your action with the key-press sub actions you want and use a voice command trigger, instead of a command or channel point redeem, to set it all off.

You can create or edit in the command tab, but the linking has been removed in 2.x versions of the bot. All linking now happens in the trigger section of the actions tab, which allows for linking to multiple actions from the same command, which you couldn't do before. However, the Command tab still has its uses, such as batch adding or editing of existing commands.

@@beardedink i followed Nutty's video a few days ago as my introduction to Streamer.bot but it didn't match the current 2.2. Turned out he was using 1.18 which is so different. I've been floundering. Finding Command under Core was just what I was looking for. If you're in a Twitch mode, I turned on Shield mode, I thought to hide/clear my testing chat. Nothing works now. Shield mode is off but Streamer.bot is ignoring my chat messages. Any help would be appreciated. A little knowledge is dangerous!!!

Account deletion seems to be an extreme measure. But I am happy you got it sorted. Keep in mind that right now Twitch is messing around with their own backend. They are testing experimental chat features and adjusting the API. This makes things like chat bots (including SB) to break during the testing. This has been going on an doff for a couple days and could be the cause of your current issue.@@cowbanchalam9725
