Thank you so much for this video, it really helped! I recently had a falling out with one of my followers for being inappropriate and I had to ban them and I was always annoyed because they had a founders badge that now will never be used! So I am happy to learn that you can get rid of there founders badge and it will go to who ever was next in line. Thank you again!
One more perfect scenario that this was a good idea from Twitch (see? they do have one from time to time hahaha). I am happy that it has helped you out!
Being able to change your founders makes being a founder pointless. Unless there is perhaps a certain amount of time given before you can remove or instate a new founder. For me, I feel that founders will always be founders - if they happen to disappear or lose their sub, taking that away just doesn't make any sense. I thought that was what the loyalty badges were for?
The feature is optional, of course and no one forces a founder out. It was a highly requested feature that was added very quietly. There are several reasons it is warranted, though. New streamers are bombarded with a lot when they first start their journey, friends who may not be friends, those after something in return, general bad people overall. One example is having someone become a founder and after a couple of years you have a falling out, perhaps this person has become toxic, disrupts your streams and chat, using their founder status to belittle new subs and followers. Things like this (and worse) happen every day. Having this option helps your channel stay your channel.
@@beardedink OOF I literally wrote a page of response and clicked back mistakenly. For me I can understand taking away the badge, but giving it to a viewer who wasn't there founding your channel with you is nonsense in my head. After all, if you say cut the red ribbon with someone and then gave them the big scissors, five years down the line they leave, do you give the scissors to the person you hired a week after cutting? As for loyal and support, there are plenty of other badges and titles you can give to viewers like streak, tier, and even VIP status. For the badge itself I recently read that it only shows up if the viewer has an active sub, so if someone turns dark sided and doesn't keep up with the primes or whatever, the badge won't even show up. (Actually I just tried this as I have a founder badge for a channel I simply can't afford to sub anymore or to anyone actually) but if that stream decides to revoke my badge for not keeping up with subbing, I was still there on day one and instead of putting pressure on me to retain it, I'd rather just let it be taken. So take my scissors, okay. But give them to the next in line who wasn't there for the ceremony? To me it takes the meaning out of the scissors totally. I don't know it just doesn't sit right with me. TD"LR Taking away - fine, giving it to someone who wasn't there when the channel was in founding state - not cool. Thanks for the reply and sorry for the lengthy response!
@@WebMetlReese No worries on lengthy responses. That is what this is all here for. And yes, I tend to agree with you in most cases. But, as stated in the video, you don't really get to pick and choose who gets it. As for your ribbon cutting scenario, this is true, but think about the active supporters side. The first 10 subs get the badge. What if your first affiliate stream you got 15 subs? 11 - 15 were still there from the start, but zero recognition. And if #10 becomes toxic to you or your community, #11, who also was at the ribbon cutting can also now be recognized. I do appreciate the ability to do so for those that choose to. But, it also isn't mandatory for those that do not wish to take advantage. That's about as close to a win-win as it gets.
@@beardedink Thank you so much for the discussion. I can see how many streamers like this option and when I considered your example of #11-15 I can see that perspective. IDK I still feel that the founder's badge should be something that is a permanent affix - since it really isn't now, I feel that it simply lost the original meaning for it. Anyway, thanks again for the responses! Keep growing!

Thank you for watching! I am glad it helped!
will you tell me how to change the badge
You cannot change the actual badge itself. Twitch has never allowed this, though they did consider it at one point.
Thanks so much!!!
Thank YOU for watching!
Good vid💪
Thank you
