Snes may have had Capcom in the early 90s, but Saturn era-Dreamcast era, it was Sega and Capcom. It's not like Sega needed them in the early 90s, they had their own arcade and Disney games, and the handful of games they did get were decent in my opinion. Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition was included in the Mini for a reason, despite not coming with a 6 button controller. My only real complaint about Capcom on Dreamcast is the controller. I love the DC controller, but it was not made for fighting. It's more for 3D games like the N64 controller. You need 3 punch buttons on top of 3 kick buttons and you better have a decent stick and/or D pad. Dreamcast had none of those. They sold arcade sticks tho.
That brought ne back to the 2000s. I loved my DC and it was one of the best consoles I've ever had. Too bad that it died too early. One of my favorites was CVS2!
As much of a Sega Dreamcast and Capcom fan that I am, I honestly had no clue that Capcom made 40 games for the DC. I still have a well working DC, but I retired it after I found out about the emulator, Redream, for the PC. It runs about 80% of the library at full smooth speed, and with a $5 donation you can play the games in 4K. I dropped the cash to see if it was worth and oh man! While most fighting games like MvC2 you can really see pixels in sprites, games like Power Stone, Crazy Taxi, Project Justice looks AMAZING!

The thing with MvC2's music is more of a cultural difference than a "downgrade". In the West, we tend to associate fights with Rock music, especially Hard Rock or Heavy Metal. It captures the intensity and insanity of the fights, and the loud drums or the chugging guitar riffs can match up with the powerful hits. But in Japan, they associate fight scenes with Jazz because of the musical complexity in that genre. Very difficult improvisation that still manages to flow together with the rest of your ensemble, while also seeming flashy...describes Jazz AND MvC2!
Looking back, it's a relief that a game like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 came out when it did, because it would be the perfect title today to be loaded with DLC.
Something I liked about Vampire Chronicle was the remastered sound effects. Even when the HUD forms it sounds more hard hitting than even the arcade and the voices are so much clearer. Man I miss having it and my Capcom games. I was just a few away from completing my collection.

I agree with Ezra, it caught me off guard the first time I played MVC2 but the tune has grown on me and in a way I'm glad they brought it back in the third game.
Your videos have been kicking ass lately. Capcom really hit home run after home run on the 6th generation of consoles. Sadly their truly excellent track record on the Dreamcast tends to get forgotten when compared to their Playstation 2 and Gamecube output, but if you look at the generation as a whole you realize that Capcom had a truly awe-inspiring range of games during this time no matter what platform you were on.
To be fair the sprites used in MVC2 were intended to be seen through a CRT. They definitely won’t hold their own on an HD Display. Kind of the same with the first 3 Resident Evil Games, the drawn-backgrounds were intended to be seen on a CRT in which they’d actually look incredible when seen in person. Its a shame that the resolution was so low to the point that people today can’t enjoy these games the way they were meant to be seen on any HDTV. Instead they look blurry or pixelated.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Power Stone 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter Third Strike, Dino Crisis...Sega Dreamcast just kept hittin' them home runs!
Capcom Vs SNK actually didn't reuse Street Fighter sprites. They're redone based on hybrid of SNK and SF styles with the characters being a bit thinner.

The 3 Vs 3 fighting was FIRST introduced in KING OF FIGHTERS 94 (1994) on neo geo😇 But i get it that here you can tag & in kof you have accses to your characters after they are defeated
It's not Tag. MVC3 was the first 3 on 3 Tag. I THINK that Snk brought Kizuna Encounter after Xmen Vs Street as an answer to Tag Battles but it was 2 on 2. KOF03 was the first 3 on 3 Tag from the series.
SLX, I thought the slowdown in Gunbird 2 was caused by the game not supporting VGA. I get slowdown using my Gekko HDMI box. I have a second Dreamcast running through composite just for the non VGA games and get no slowdown using composite.
@@SegaLordX Have you noticed when using VGA the gallery menu is messed up too? Also the intro Cinema has glitching and the loading screen is in the wrong position. None of those problems are present using composite. I imagine S-video is fine too. 😀
Mars Matrix is hard for sure. You really need to study the tutorial and learn how to get huge blocks in order to level up your ship. Without that you won't make it far. Doesn't play like a normal shooter for sure.
I'm just curious to ask, but didn't Capcom make a fighting game that involved toy characters coming to life a la Toy Story? I heard that's what "Power Stone" was supposed to be, but it turned out to have a completely different plot, though I think there was such a game that was released exclusively on the Nintendo Gamecube.

It's hard for me to get into Resident Evil 3 because of the tank controls but maybe I will give the remake a try!
Tank control can be rough if you aren't use to it. It does become second nature after awhile if you put in the time.
@@SegaLordX Just surprised Capcom never thought to include a different control scheme for Dreamcast, Deep Fear on Saturn has an option to ditch the tank controls and the controls are great with the 3D control pad!
Hard disagree on the music of MVC2. It’s iconic!
Very Nice 👍
Damn what a year for gaming
If and or when there's a new Capcom versus game or a new Street Fighter versus game, I want Sean and his sister to be apart of it.
Phenomenal series. Keep it up!
5:14 definately agree. The backgrounds and music from previous Capcom Vs. games are much better than what MvC2 has.
Wow how can you not like the music in mvc2 it's so good!!! Great video though lol
Great videos as per usual, looking forward to your views on 2001 era Capcom stuff, in particular Cannon Spike.
RE3: everybody and their grandmother will try to kill you. Good definition, never heard that expression before, made me laugh.
Oh look forward to your thoughts on Capcom vs SNK2 on DC!!! One of the very best with MVC2 & SF3!
Man, the Dreamcast was an awesome system.
I never got the chance to play power stone two the first one was so damn cool i’m tempted to buy a Sega Dreamcast just to play them 2 games on god lol 😂 💯
I'd seen the concept art for power stone, but not the actual games
It's a fun button masher. It's very loud tho. Haha. You can find items to forge weapons and powerups which is neat.
Thanks for the heads up. Most of these I have, but I haven't tried them. And the Japanese exclusives are exactly what I was curious about.
The next part will have a lot more Japan exclusives.
@@SegaLordX yeah, caught that at the end, thanks for doing these man, I'm stoked!
had them all, sold them all... but kept 2 dreamcast and backups ;)
The 3 Vs 3 fighting was FIRST introduced in KING OF FIGHTERS 94 (1994) on neo geo😇
But i get it that here you can tag & in kof you have accses to your characters after they are defeated
I was referencing the change for the Capcom versus series.
It's not Tag. MVC3 was the first 3 on 3 Tag. I THINK that Snk brought Kizuna Encounter after Xmen Vs Street as an answer to Tag Battles but it was 2 on 2. KOF03 was the first 3 on 3 Tag from the series.
Capcom should release all Marvel vs Capcom games on Switch with online on all 3 games. Huge fan of 2 and 3.
I freaking love Spawn: ITDH
You are tripping bro. The music in Marvel vs Capcom 2 was great.
I can't wait for the Resident Evil 3 remake man, the remake of the 2nd game was easily one of the best games of 2019
Best Spawn Game up to date
SLX, I thought the slowdown in Gunbird 2 was caused by the game not supporting VGA. I get slowdown using my Gekko HDMI box. I have a second Dreamcast running through composite just for the non VGA games and get no slowdown using composite.
You know, I've never tried the game on anything other than VGA. I'll see what it does for me.
@@SegaLordX Have you noticed when using VGA the gallery menu is messed up too? Also the intro Cinema has glitching and the loading screen is in the wrong position. None of those problems are present using composite. I imagine S-video is fine too. 😀
@@SegaLordX Have you had a chance to play Gunbird 2 not using VGA?
Power Stone 2 is awesome
When I MVC2 OST I felt like Christmas😳
Wow I didn't realize capcom worked on so many games for the dreamcast.
Mars Matrix is hard for sure. You really need to study the tutorial and learn how to get huge blocks in order to level up your ship. Without that you won't make it far. Doesn't play like a normal shooter for sure.
„Capcom“
Thumbnail shows a SNK character.
Umm, Isn't that Maki from Final Fight 2 ?
I'm just curious to ask, but didn't Capcom make a fighting game that involved toy characters coming to life a la Toy Story? I heard that's what "Power Stone" was supposed to be, but it turned out to have a completely different plot, though I think there was such a game that was released exclusively on the Nintendo Gamecube.
