HEYYY I just fixed the title, I honestly thought it was called some UNUSUAL day.....doesn't that make more sense considering what Mario is doing!? I agree. I watch a lot of grand poobear romhack videos and they've for all these awesome mechanics that seem really fun to play, but they're all wicked hard kaizo stuff and I just don't have that skill.

I like how they combined the leaf and fire flower, but in a way where the combined form is slightly worse at each ability than the two on their own. Just fire flower throws fireballs better, and just leaf allows you to use the tail to flip shelled enemies and pick them up. So they didn't completely invalidate having just fire flower or just leaf, and there are scenarios where you'd rather not have both together.

The water part with the Cheep-Cheeps at 42:02 is a part of the stage called the "fish tank".
This is a well-done hack. Didn’t seem too hard, for you at least. However, i must point out that it’s faster not to jump and grab the wand. 🤪
It might be faster, but I prefer style points and jump strat
Don't forget if you take anything away from this video it's that this hack was made in 2005. It was super important for our host to convey that info to us.

My jaw literally dropped when I saw fire raccoon. Something so simple and obvious, yet I've never seen it in any SMB3 hack (or fire cape in any SMW hack).

I like how the bright and dark music tones are inverted here, so the overworld and sky theme is darker. :)
The maker used sprites from boulder dash, kirby, chip and dale and other mariogames and more so far i can see realy cool
The crates contain all the power ups in the worlds. That's why you see them at the end of each world. To replenish all the power ups Mario has stolen so far.

I agree with grand poobear that romhackers should do more romhacks of smb3 in super Mario all-stars. Imagine if this had the graphical quality of the super Nintendo.

The World 3 Tank had a literal "Fish Tank"
LOL.... it has a literal (fish) tank in the tank level.
the reason you're getting power ups in your inventory is because 1-ups are replaced with power ups, so if you get a 1-up, you get a power up in your inventory, because the game's lives are unknown, so they are unlimited.

The overworld on this game has taken sprites from some other game, I'm almost sure. At first I thought it was Lolo but I guess not. However, the underwater green dudes are likely altered sprites of the enemies in Nes Boulderdash -Editedit: I just confirmed by loading the game up, 100% the same sprite but the animation the eyes use is altered, strange game to pull an enemy from lol, also this should have been obvious but the chest sprite is from Legend of Zelda. I'm going to try and find out what the rest of the overworld sprites are.

Just noticed you don't really ride the screw bolts on the ship level. Just hop quickly. You gotta get some torque on them nuts to get them moving fastet
Music and sound effects remind me of the master system.
59:20 it's the first dungeon of Zelda II if you have Alzheimer's. Nothing like it. Feels like they just made an original dungeon inspired by and using the graphics from those dungeons.
These enemies are from Kirby's adventure (NES)! Great crossover!
