Magic has made it big time. Watched a clip of antiques road show earlier today that showcased a beta collection. 60 to 100 thousand valuation. I said Rudy would pay 10,000.

Corona Virus has kinda fucked up all the game stores, but if they reupped these, I'd definitely buy another box of this from my LGS.
@@Matteo_the_Plague_Doctor Check the news on wizards official site. They're making another print run of these and they're providing the boxes for FREE to game stores to help them out. The article was posted yesterday, it was about changes to Ikoria's release and had some extra info. Here's the quote:
"First, we have launched a reprint of Mystery Booster and will be allocating these boosters to WPN member stores-at no charge. Again, we'll have more details next week, but know that when you purchase one of the reprinted Mystery Boosters from your local game store later on, every single dollar you spend on it will be going straight to them."
Rudy skipped so many good/expensive uncommons.
Also, he's trying to guess the editions while looking directly at expansion symbols

This set also seems amazing for new players to build up some cards. (And play and draft).
Amazing how this set is 6 times a large as your normal Masters set and somehow you have a higher expected value than other Masters sets at launch

With my luck, if I got a box of this set, I would get the absolute worst one. I really wish there were more old-school cards than modern frame ones. I think WotC missed the mark in that respect.

The rare/mythic slot seems to have duplicates within same box. If you get one mana crypt keep opening as lots of boxes have two! My box had two mana crypt and two teferi protection. Great box

The best part of these videos of the Mystery Boxes is Rudy's excitement at seeing the old cards. This has to be reawakening the little kid in him.

As a commander player, I am totally tempted to grab a few boxes and try an EDH draft. Enough solid EDH cards to make some decent decks in a larger draft
This box had a lot of 7th and 8th edition foils. My box primarily had Kamigawa foils. Anyone else notice a bias towards a certain era in their box? Specifically, the foil slot.

I noticed that the Mana Crypt pack was fourth from the top in the right-hand stack from the box. Mine was in the exact same pack and slot. Any chance that they tend to show up in that pack regularly? Anyone else notice this in your own boxes?

You guys think the price for these boxes will drop anytime soon? free ones that will be sent to the lgs might make the price drop and the fact that there might be a recession comming will affect the price right ?

In my box I only got one double. I did get a mana crypt and that paid for my box, in Canada I paid 200$, after checking the prices the total was 550$, it was worth the price alot of goodies. At least if the prices drop it won't drop more than I paid. I hope.
Beyond stupid luck. My box valued at 90. Reason I never buy boxes. I never get close breaking even.

My box only had like 5 mythics in it... I got good value (more than the $100 I paid for the box), but I definitely didn't get any crazy pulls.

I saw on Card Kingdom that the Mana Crypt from the mystery booster is like $50 cheaper than the Eternal Masters version.
Can anyone explain why that is? They have the same logo, same collector number, art etc, so I would have thought they'd have been sold as EMA not Mystery Booster version.

I opened a box and didn’t really get any great high end pulls still aload of mythics and foil rares tho and was good fun herd me new box reprint with special items inserted into certain boxes

Its hard watching vids like these. I recently rolled the dice and got an Iconic Masters box. Easily one of the worst boxes I opened. Only 2 mythics, with the better one being necro. The only thing that prevented it from being complete trash was foils of cryptic command and magus of the moon. I love both those cards, but their financial value isn't what it used to be. One pack from this box was worth more than my entire iconic box.
Rudy putting that Carpet of Flowers in the bulk pile as if it isn't one of the 10 most expensive cards in the set.

Same here, its a scam bro. My friend bought 2 boxes and didnt get shit. Not to mention, NONE of these cards are going to hold ANY value. People are really mistaken with the purpose of this box, in 3 months any card thats $25 will be $10 at max and Mana Crypt will be $60. Its made for new people to get into Magic for less initial cost and also to tank the price of some Commander staples so more people can play.
Don't get me wrong, the value of the cards when I bought it was a bit more than the cost of the box. And I haven't even done a US$ to CAD conversion yet.
I know that this is made for draft events and for me it's more about having fun with the cards. I just wanted to do a breakdown and see what value I would get from opening an entire box.
WotC is sending LGS's a bunch of Mystery Booster boxes for free to help support them during these trying times. Pretty awesome of WotC! Until you hear they also delayed the Prereleased & Release of Ikoria until May 15th.....
