My boxes. Got a nice open sleeve in my commander deck for that foil Fabled Passage. Also pumped about double Brazen. Overall, really happy. I always get good pulls from Rudy (giggity?)
I know the joke is that it used to be 15 dollars and now its 5, but to be fair 5 is still a hell of a lot more than something like giant killer, piper of the swarm, or even that shitty red white mythic enchantment. Still a funny joke though
Gets a Brazen Borrower that's worth like 25€ Rudy: "ey that's pretty good" Gets a Fabled Passage that's worth like 13€ Rudy: "WOOOWW that just made the night"
I went to magicfest oakland. Not Portland or LA. It would be cool if they made them more consistent like annually in all the locations they are at vs rotating around until it's close enough. It's not just about playing but the deals on trade ins can be awesome. 1%er
I believe that WoTC trying to cut out the LGSs is going to come back and get them. Most people don’t play at a professional level so most of their competitive events are FNMs and MFs now. If the LGSs die out that will severely hurt the demand for paper MTG in my opinion. If it’s just going to be casual kitchen counter stuff why would anyone pay full price for a card that could easily be proxied?
That's the conspiracy theory. WotC wants paper to die so they can focus on more profitable digital format. They cant do this openly, so they are taking incremental steps and making seemingly dumb decisions to kill paper off slowly. Along the way, of course, they are milking as much money from the paper whales as they can.
I always enjoy your box openings, some are better than others, still fun. I will say on the magic whatever speeches price going up down hate not hate wizards, I just enjoy the game. I mostly play by myself, haha, but its fun to think of a strategy. I don't play commander for the simple fact I don't like that play style. the games enjoyable though for me. the pricing and lgs are kinda funny to me, I do keep some cards for the price also I do get rid of some cards for the same reason. I keep some cheap cards too. you do bring up some interesting topics. I enjoy the game and cracking packs, to many but fun. thanks for the vid have a great new year
I went to my first magic fest in DFW for modern and attendance, just for main event, was 2000 and total attendance was about double. Then I went to OKC Magic Fest a month ago, it was standard, and attendance for main event alone was 368 and not much more over that for side events. I think format has alot to do with magic fest attendance but if a tenth of 1% of magic players isn't enough for wotc to do coverage anymore, even at 10,000, then they just didn't care anyway like you said. They're looking for excuse to cut costa where they can.
I love Magic, been playing since 99. I enjoy going to Magic Fest style events regardless of price, prize support, and the like. I've even met Scumbag Rudy at GP Vegas and gave him a cookie. But, as time has gone on, it's become increasingly difficult for me to travel to these events, so I only go maybe once ever two-three years. But, I play Magic almost every week, I support my LGS and I play on MTGO despite the stupid cost. People have such a narrow vision nowadays and can't see the forest through the trees. Magic feels as health or healthier now than I can remember any time in the past. I just think the the era of the GP being the "Magic Event Of The Year" is gone. People still go, people still have fun, but attendance obviously mirrors health of Magic to the people that want to see it that way, but I don't think they could be further from the truth.
Ohoo Rudy. Argent Saga Playmat. Is that a hint for future box openings of Argent Saga? Would be interesting what you think about the game but also from a collecting view. Thank you
Where I live people would rather drive 50 miles to play at an LGS instead of just meeting up locally at someones house to play. It drives me crazy that people that live a few miles from me expect me to drive 50 miles to play and think I am crazy for not wanting to.
Just a note, it only took Marvel Comics 5 years to go from fine to dead over "Culture". They said it wasn't a big deal when it started, now they over ship to inflate sales numbers just to avoid getting the ax...
Of, course, all the gamers in Asia who didnt go to the Las Vegas MagicFest is because they dont care. Dont see any other reason ... except maybe because we are not all millionaires.
You're making the assumption Rudy. 99% of the people actually PLAY the game. It's the 1% that just open packs, sell, live in their basement. You're the 1% Rudy, and I think that's why you're being the closed minded one here.
I think the idea of someone calling themselves a "pro" for magic is ridiculous and even more so that people actually treat this game like a sport and speculate on who will win a gp.
What is he even going on about? I feel like I listened to 10 minutes of random bla that didn’t make sense with in between screaming when he hit a good card. What’s the point he was trying to make.
I've played with friends since I was introduced when ice age was new. I have never gone to an event and I don't think I want to.
My boxes. Got a nice open sleeve in my commander deck for that foil Fabled Passage. Also pumped about double Brazen. Overall, really happy. I always get good pulls from Rudy (giggity?)
Congrats! Solid two boxes - and that definitely gets a giggity, LOL
Anyone notice that rudy pulled both the Witches oven, and cauldron familiar in foil out of box 1?
I didn’t know about Magic Fest until just now. I guess I’ll go learn more about it now
“Once Upon a Time” I used to be worth something
I know the joke is that it used to be 15 dollars and now its 5, but to be fair 5 is still a hell of a lot more than something like giant killer, piper of the swarm, or even that shitty red white mythic enchantment. Still a funny joke though
ROFL!
Funny that card on the playmat is actually called professor Rudy
google confirms this! rudy is meta AF and so are you for noticing !
First Rudy lesson of 2020,"who cares?" You need to love this channel, good stuff
Happy New Year's to you, and your family Rudy. I wish everyone nothing but the best! Be safe
SHut up :)
Happy New Year brochacho!
Gets a Brazen Borrower that's worth like 25€
Rudy: "ey that's pretty good"
Gets a Fabled Passage that's worth like 13€
Rudy: "WOOOWW that just made the night"
Price isn't everything. A lot of my favorite cards are cheap.
Double tap brazen AND foil passage! Just those 3 paid for one box lol👍 foil showcase giant is nice too
Fair discussion of culture. Rudy, surprisingly balanced. Please do the world news Rudy. lol.

Damn dude. Rip cholesterol

the Grand Prix experience was much better...and bigger
Rudy said Magic Fests are cool, 20,000 people will be in Vegas this year now.
Probiotics are the best of the cultures.
This certainly did resonate with me.
Have a great New Year Rudy, thanks for the videos, you are genuinely fun to watch. You are the reason I got back into Magic.
Olympus Games in Wyoming is the jam!!

Huge A+ on that smokin’ hot Argent Saga Rudy playmat
Just a note, it only took Marvel Comics 5 years to go from fine to dead over "Culture".
They said it wasn't a big deal when it started, now they over ship to inflate sales numbers just to avoid getting the ax...
Happy new year may your new year be amazing :)
My only push back toward the MPL is how much $ is provided to them.
Happy New Year Rudy, may your Taco be hard in 2020
10:15 rudy the singer lol
Happy NewYear 2020 Rudy I wish you a lot of taco
I've never been to the Magic fest. I just enjoy playing the game with my friends
If creepy rudy were a cartoon character he's be Rick from Rick and morty
Love the channel!!
He you got a shambling suit twice in the same pack
Of, course, all the gamers in Asia who didnt go to the Las Vegas MagicFest is because they dont care. Dont see any other reason ... except maybe because we are not all millionaires.
i wonder if there are companys that just open stuff for a living.....
yeah Dont forget to try life as a carrot everyone
I live in a small town in Michigan ... weird
I'm playing MTG ARENA more now, because cardboard MTG is getting too expensive and my LGS is losing players to MTG ARENA.
Is this the first time we've heard Rudy (attempt to) sing? My brain is still trying to parse what I heard😬
Takes your breath away doesn't it
When does Patreon reset? :)
lol take my breath away Rudy
99.99% of the players don't care about investments either, but it's profitable for you, so...
Rudy the kinda guy to eat a sandwich with Doritos.
Clackty bridge😵😵🤣🤣
I went to one FNM after being assured the smelly fat guy thing was a myth, discovered it was not and swore to never attend a physical event ever again
10,000/10,000,000 = 0.001
Aka a tenth of a tenth of a percent
It's .1%
You forgot to multiply with 100%
Isn't 99% of magic player base those children from Good Boys?
My taco is ready Rudy put it in!
...the microwave because the taco is lukewarm at best.

Rudy, pin this jewel please.
I think the idea of someone calling themselves a "pro" for magic is ridiculous and even more so that people actually treat this game like a sport and speculate on who will win a gp.
Why?
Ew, Rudy's a centrist.
Hello
I love you
Throne of Eldraine box opening fatigue.
*See you next year and decade!* 😅
Lol happy new year broski

First
Nice
What is he even going on about?
I feel like I listened to 10 minutes of random bla that didn’t make sense with in between screaming when he hit a good card.
What’s the point he was trying to make.
ad revenue
ya, he was rambling all video but his main point is that it's ok to play magic for fun. yes, not deep. he's making videos for the youtube monies.
