Something to mention, i think these units auto regulate fuel and air to maintain a 150C case temperature. I have been testing if these units will run on waste oils, and they do. I tested with used motor oil mixed with 30% gasoline, this mixture runs fine around 145C and the machine will start on it just fine. a 20% gas mixture ran fine but the start up was rough in 4C ambient temp, took 2 tries to start, and smoked a whole lot, with this mix id recommend starting and stopping on diesel to get combustion temp up. I also tested 10% gasoline and 90% used motor oil, this ran fine around 140C but eventually i think it made it to close to 150C, i did not try starting on this mix, as i feared it would not start and i would have to re-prime my lines with diesel. I think this unit auto regulates air and fuel because if left long enough, the oil gas mix will reach close to 150C case temperature, even though it starts out lower. I also ran this heater on straight diesel and on setting 6 i only got the case temp to about 150C. HOWEVER, after running my 10% gasoline mix i switched the fuel back to straight diesel and once it went through all the lines i was able to see 190C case temp, then it slowly lowered back down to around 160C. I think this unit attempts to auto compensate for different grades of fuel and it tries its best to get the case temp to be stable at 150C, this process is slow, but i think that is what it is doing. I am trying vegetable oil in this heater next.
I too think that this model does something different than the previous models with the red digits. With those, you have to mess with injection frequency for a given fan speed - but thats a bit silly, if you know the fan speed and case temperature and you can adjust the fuelling then that is far better than putting in bingo values and hoping for the best. Mine runs on diesel only and runs far leaner than the ones other people mess with - and I don't have to mess with it, it runs clean as a whistle almost no deposits at all. So the other day I ran it when it was already warm inside, I noticed it quickly warmed to 200C and then you can audibly hear the fuel rate decrease but the fan stays as it was, the outflow temperature was around 100 and it regulated at around that. I'm not sure if the older designs do that - or at least do it quite as well. From the videos I have seen, people seem to be running them way way too rich just because they can adjust the fuel frequency. You don't want stochiometric ratio, that only applies to fixed volume rather than a flame in a windy tube, besides if they see black smoke or soot build up its obviously too rich.
I have an ebespacher heater in my van. If the van reaches temperature the heater slows down until it stops injecting fuel. And just gently runs the blower. My partner has this Chinese version of heater. And it slows down but does not stop the burner . This means it gets to warm in the van. Its a shame there is not a setting to stop the fuel pump at temperature. And start the ignition of the burner when it gets to cold in the van.

A very useful video. On mine I just use the timer settings, mostly. Usually the auto turn-off after the set time. It allows me to run it for the set time after leaving the area. Good for a heat boost on a cold night with just a quick trip to the heater to start it, select pump speed (usually H 6) and select the timing mode (a one hour run has been adequate thus far). Then lock up and leave. Top two buttons on the controller (I think, but not sure) select the timer mode when running. They must have programmed the minimum pump speed (5000 strokes per hour seems usual - 50 strokes in 36s or 1.4Hz) and the maximum stroke rate, along with the associated fan speeds somewhere. I am wondering if the motherboard has any means of re-programming these settings? Or maybe the smaller heater is simply fitted with a smaller capacity pump? I have a 2kW ‘small body’ heater which I have not checked out much.. That it works is a bonus, with these heaters.🙂
VERY useful, thank you. How does the "Alpine Mode" function for actual alpine altitudes--6,000--9,000 ft? In the USA mountain West, such altitudes are common. Thanks!
Hi great video although my controller is exactly the same I do not have a picture of the mountain you have too right of display ?, also ambient temperature says 31c, but it’s not it’s only 22c outside 🤷♂️
We have this controller and your vids are so helpful. Do you still need to start this heater on high to burn off any residue? I’m a little confused as I know it starts up in manual mode then we switch over to auto.
Thank you for the great video. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot set the on timer and the off timer to work in succession. For example, I want the heater to come on in 1 hour for then turn off an hour later when I am away from my caravan. I might want to do this if I know it will be freezing tonight and I want to heat up the interior for a little while in the middle of the night. It looks like I can only activate the on time timer when it is not running and the off time timer when it is running but I need to activate each of these manually.
@thomasinnis2370 I can't but they can.... no real thermostat control on these cheap heaters, just a constant heat control low to high. If it gets too hot open a window
@@2005micI'm genuinely trying to figure out how to get mine into automatic mode. It's stuck in 'manual' and doesn't regulate at all. It's the white housing blue display and it won't let me set a target temp.
Thanks for the excellent update Mic. Your first video sorted me and my new heater. Do you know if this" new controller", can be changed for older or blue controller without changing the mother board( ECU)? Also I noted that in all your video answers you had alpine mode on. Was this necessary? Thanks. N
No, it's not compatible with other motherboards. If you want to change controllers, both need to be changed. No reason for alpine mode being on. Thanks for the compliment
One option for a controller is simply a rotary knob with an LED on top for errors. But I did not realize that the lowest it will go is 2 hz, or I would have gone for this controller. At the temperatures I am in, I only need 1 hz, so 2 hz is using twice the fuel I need to use.
The new remote control with OLED display has 2 x AAA 1.5V Micro LR03 cells. WTF A27 or A23 that annoys everyone. OLED display remote control (433Mhz) should be / is compatible with the new controller according to the operating instructions. It is cheaper to buy an OLED display remote control than A27 batteries. I use two old 1,2V Ni-MH... Thank You for the Video!
Can you point me to, or do a video of how many controller iterations there are or have been and their respective timelines. If I ever want to upgrade I would like to know which may be compatible without rewiring the board, or how-to rewire the controller.
I recently purchased a diesel heater, but I can’t work out how to prepare the remote to it and it’s got the circle with a lightning like that one you showed on display
hi , how long did you have to prime before the fuel reached the pump ?….also I have the blue controller and it appears to do exactly the same functions as your black one and the little blue icon by the air intake is exactly the same as yours but there are other blue controllers that function differently with a slightly different icon .
Says video was uploaded 3 months ago I guess they have released another controller since then .. the new one I’ve seen has a round dial on it and it’s voice activated along with your remote control. Can you check it out and make a video on that one .?.
Good stuff Mic, I look forward to your future videos. When running the heater in manual in H1 setting, is the pump running at 0.044ml per second ie (2 pumps per second)
I would like to know why my controller do not show the voltage? I only see 3 bars and that it? also I tried to push the buttons for diesel pumping and then after i tried to start. it doesn't work. I cannot see anything moving. I cannot browse the menu. The only time I see something was CO-1 for remote control pairing and that all. The battery is fully charged and it is a deep cycle battery for rv and not used at the moment. and it is a 95 amps hour deep cucle group 31D. also the engine and diesel pump does not any noise. is it deffective unit ?
Any thoughts on why my power on off switch won’t work. I have to keep insert /remove the battery to start /stop👎 I used to on off with the remote but since changing the battery in the remote the remote doesn’t seem to talk to the main controller
Increase the voltage or battery size the "P" setting has to be 12 not 11 or it will error out in a minute or so. Battery also must be capable of outputting at least 8 amps
Hi, Have you ever gotten 3 lines and a smal v.......... like this. - - - v On this controller. Just lights up when i connect to battery and no buttons are responsive. Instead of P12 v it show the lines and v. So I can not use the heater at all. Suggestions? thanks so much.
if I want to order a new control for my burner, (3 years old) does the new type of control have a type number and how do I know that it fits the burner?//Erik
@@2005mic That is the disadvantage of ordering from "wish" you do not get information about the type and number of what you are buying, in this case the diesel heater and the control.//Erik

Can the heater also be set to turn off when the desired temperature is reached, and turn on again when the temperature in the room has dropped too far?
Hello, it melts to a maximum of 90-95 degrees Celsius. I don't know what to do, I can't set anything. i At full power it seems that the fan is running at full speed but the fuel pump is running slowly .. Thanks for the ideas
@@2005mic ok so I need to set the clock and use the timer to turn it on and off at set times. Thank you have to set the clock first. Cheers for your help 👍.
@@tarsneyisleestrelas4659 this model has no clock, just a timer. You can only set it to go off after a set amount of time, if its running. Or to come on if its not running, but not to come on, then off, only one at a time, I know!!
E2 is a voltage error. the heater is not getting the correct volts. Volts could be to high or to low. Make sure it is 12v and your cables are large enough and short enough so there is no voltage drop. Check with multimeter when trying to start heater
Mine scrolls past 1-6 never a heat temperature. It just cycles straight through. Wish it would stop on 1 or 6 when using the remote i never know what setting its on without looking
hi have u had any problem with the controller going faulty and doing in the fuel pumps as i have had a near new pump go faulty so replaced with new one and it has stopped working as well so tryed new controller and pump and all seams ok . would love feed back on this problem and if i can replace controller with old stile unit .
@@2005mic thanks for replying, but do u think that a controle panel could make 2 pumps go faulty , i am baffled by this problem, i have had heaters with the older controlers and had no problems at all.
@tessandmax1 the quality of the new controllers I don't think is the best. Most work just fine but lot of people have issues and strange ones at that so I wouldn't be surprised if it caused your issues with pump
I noticed on this newer heater the fuel pump pulses fast no matter what temperature I set it. And consumes twice the amount of fuel my older heater does. ??
really helpful video, as is the one prior to this. I was hoping to set the timer to have the heater come on daily for an hour and then turn off itself, but it appears its only possible to set it to come on once, and then you need to set the off time while the heater is running... Am I picking this up correctly?
After it comes on from timer, it does not respond to off timer setting. You have to shut it off, then back on to get a timed off, what a load of crap, I'm sending it back, maybe they will fix it if there is enough returns.
Could be a faulty temperature sensor, otherwise a faulty motherboard. Have a look through the following link. myrigadventures.com/chinese-diesel-heater-problems/
This controller is worth nothing, at full power the housing gets to 210 degrees and than it starts to derate te pump frequency in an irratic way to limit the temperature, not a very elegant way. I swapped the motherboard and controller with the old type and adjusted the advanced settings, runs perfectly fine now. May be the factory is able to tune the heater with this controller, mine was not properly tuned, way to much fuel.
what do you mean erratic? Mine adjusts it to keep between 200 and 210C. It seems to be spot on without any soot so its obviously not too rich. I live at 300ft above sea level (which may affect the ratio) and perhaps the single most important thing is the high difference between the fuel and the heater. Mine is about 3ft. I mention that last thing because if you activate the pump at 3ft for a 28ml pump you get 28ml of fuel for 1000 ticks. If you have more than 3ft you get less and below 3ft you get more fuel. If you gave -3ft the fuel actually doesn't stop and floods it. The newer unit certainly does auto regulate and if you think about it it really does have to because there are so many factors. It doesn't really have any excuse, it knows the temperature of the casing and it knows fuel amount and fan speed so the only thing it can't know is how much restriction there is on the inlet and outlet.
Yes , it is doing that, it changes the frequency all the time to keep the temperature in that range, yes, you get the maximum amount of power, but thats not always wat you want, if you don’t need that, its nice if you can lower the amount of fuel to your needs, the heater also burns cleaner this way if I look at the amount of CO, thats why I like the old controller more. For the rest, it works fine as it is, there you are right.
@@wilvandendoel6782 the pump speed and fan speed must be correlated, or the carbon monoxide or excess air would be all over the place. The temperature in the casing is not a control sensor, per se. It is a feed-back to the ECU to determine flame or flame-failure and as a top limit to prevent heater damage, nothing (much) more.
My heater does not stop when it gets to set temperature. For example: 1) Trailer is at 14C 2) I set temperature to 20C. Heater turns on and heats 3) Trailer reaches 20C. Heater goes to minimum setting but does NOT stop 4) Trailer temperature keeps rising to 25C+, very uncomfortable. How can we have the heater turn off or run fan alone when reach desired temperature?
Got a E8 code. Pump is pumping Diesel. I removed and checked the glow plug and it got very hot. Primed to a point that raw fuel is coming out of exhaust and still shutting down on E8. Screen on glow plug is clean...HELP PLEASE...
E8 is also a fuel consistency issue if you have incremental issues with the pump not giving the acceptable flow rate over time air builds up in the lines and you have to do a mini prime to get it going up to temp again
I have primed my unit after not been using it during the summer ,plenty of air bubbles in the fuel line , it took a while to release them . The unit is starting up , running & pumping out cold air & the exhaust putting out white smoke. It will then put E8 on the display. Is it possible I’ve over primed it ? Any tips to rectify this please Great video , well presented.

We have this controller and your vids are so helpful. Do you still need to start this heater on high to burn off any residue? I’m a little confused as I know it starts up in manual mode then we switch over to auto.
Probably best to do so upon start up
Thank you for the great video.
@@backdoc94 that is correct
Got mine working but is there a setting that is the best heat for fuel ratio?
Thank you helped a lot.
Can you/ they make the thermostat control more confusing please?
@thomasinnis2370 I can't but they can.... no real thermostat control on these cheap heaters, just a constant heat control low to high. If it gets too hot open a window
@2005mic I'll suggest that to my dogs when I'm away.
@@2005micI'm genuinely trying to figure out how to get mine into automatic mode. It's stuck in 'manual' and doesn't regulate at all. It's the white housing blue display and it won't let me set a target temp.
@thomasinnis2370 not on these cheap heaters
@ it won’t regulate a temp. Just runs by constant temp at setting 1,2,3,4,5
Im looking for an icon guide for this unit.
Great information, can you show how to set the time/clock and the timers? Thanks
Timers are explained in my 1st video. There is no settable clock on this controller

Great video. Thank you.
One option for a controller is simply a rotary knob with an LED on top for errors. But I did not realize that the lowest it will go is 2 hz, or I would have gone for this controller. At the temperatures I am in, I only need 1 hz, so 2 hz is using twice the fuel I need to use.
do you know if there's a way to reprogram the heater down to 1 Hz?
What does the red circle with the red dash mean?

I'm working on it
E-2 error. my first battery wasn't strong enough for the glow plug. i switched to a big car battery and no error. hope this helps.
Do these new controllers not display the time? Also can you set these nee controllers to turn the machine on and off like the old units . Thanks

I recently purchased a diesel heater, but I can’t work out how to prepare the remote to it and it’s got the circle with a lightning like that one you showed on display
The video explains how to pair the remote

I wish it were programmable for time of day use for automatic temp and run times.
How do I change the fuel pump volume? I have this same display
@miltondejesus2076 you need to cover it. Wrap it with some sound proof material

hi , how long did you have to prime before the fuel reached the pump ?….also I have the blue controller and it appears to do exactly the same functions as your black one and the little blue icon by the air intake is exactly the same as yours but there are other blue controllers that function differently with a slightly different icon .
They self don't prime that well. You need to get the fuel to the pump, then prime from pump to heater
Says video was uploaded 3 months ago I guess they have released another controller since then .. the new one I’ve seen has a round dial on it and it’s voice activated along with your remote control. Can you check it out and make a video on that one .?.
😈👍...Hi..I bought it for my garage, it works great,.thank you.!!
Same control panel as I've just received, did you manage to pair the remote please as I'm having no joy what so ever 🤔

The screen and motherboard need to be matched si you may need to replace both
So, on the new one I cant adjust max/min fan speed, hertz pump etc????
No we can't
Good stuff Mic, I look forward to your future videos.
When running the heater in manual in H1 setting, is the pump running at 0.044ml per second ie (2 pumps per second)
I think it pumps slower than that. Off memory, I think it runs at around 1 pump per second. Each pump would be at the designated volume
Probably the controller motherboard is defective. There have been many defective motherboard
I have what i think is this new controller but my fan blade image does not rotate- but heater works well- have you come across this?
No i haven't but anything is possible with these heaters. As long as it works
Hey i cant figure out how to set an automatic timer, is that even possible with these new controllers? I hwve exactly the same as you
It's explained in my other video. Only 1 timer function can be set
Again thank you for the knowledge about the heater panel. Did you really test all 1000 possible numbers for a menu? :D
Yes. Went through all number combinations
Any thoughts on why my power on off switch won’t work. I have to keep insert /remove the battery to start /stop👎
I used to on off with the remote but since changing the battery in the remote the remote doesn’t seem to talk to the main controller
Don’t mean the battery I mean I have to insert or remove the fuse to start stop
See my other video. It explains how yo pair the remote
Hi,
Can the heating stop by itself ? No sound when I reach the correct temperature ?
It should regulate and keep at the set temp but won’t turn off when it reaches a certain temperature
So helpful thank you.
Hallo het rode stekkertje zichtbaar op mijn controller wat betekend dat?
Hi very detailed explanation thankyou..just fitted heater and get error 2.. its connection to 12v battery
I have this same problem. Did you ever figure out a solution to this issue
Increase the voltage or battery size the "P" setting has to be 12 not 11 or it will error out in a minute or so. Battery also must be capable of outputting at least 8 amps
How do you get to the "p"menu?
Hi, Have you ever gotten 3 lines and a smal v.......... like this. - - - v On this controller. Just lights up when i connect to battery and no buttons are responsive. Instead of P12 v it show the lines and v. So I can not use the heater at all. Suggestions? thanks so much.
how i can reset the remote control pair for use in another identical display?
Just pair it on the new one
On this type of controller do you know how to put it into Hz mode as i need to connect it to a separate water heater controller

if I want to order a new control for my burner, (3 years old) does the new type of control have a type number and how do I know that it fits the burner?//Erik
Best off buying a matched motherboard and controller only a couple of $ more. As Could be the mother board

Can the heater also be set to turn off when the desired temperature is reached, and turn on again when the temperature in the room has dropped too far?
No
No, it can only be shut off by the timer. Or manually shut off with off button.
I'm looking for a way to change voltage from 12 to 24.
Hello,
it melts to a maximum of 90-95 degrees Celsius. I don't know what to do, I can't set anything. i At full power it seems that the fan is running at full speed but the fuel pump is running slowly .. Thanks for the ideas
Hi the heater i have is the upright all in one,its up and running but i, struggling to set the thermostat so it switches off at say 20c, help cheers.
Can only switch off after a set time, not available for temp switch off
@@2005mic ok so I need to set the clock and use the timer to turn it on and off at set times. Thank you have to set the clock first. Cheers for your help 👍.
You can only set 1 timer. Either on timer OR off timer. Not both
@@tarsneyisleestrelas4659 this model has no clock, just a timer. You can only set it to go off after a set amount of time, if its running. Or to come on if its not running, but not to come on, then off, only one at a time, I know!!
Hello , for this tipe of contoller i have an error E-2. COULD YOU TELL ME PLEASE HOW TO FIX IT? THANKS

Mother board and screen are matched so can't swap different with ones but most matched pairs should work with most heaters

Does the remote need to be programmed prior to use?
No. Should work out of the box
So if you have it on H3 can you put it in alpine also, to slow fuel use?
Yes
Please, how to pair the digital remote to the controller?
@CmteGrana see my other video. It explaines it
I noticed on this newer heater the fuel pump pulses fast no matter what temperature I set it. And consumes twice the amount of fuel my older heater does. ??
Mine slows and speeds up as required. May be faulty
What would help is being a NASA Scientist. Its a fucking heater.
really helpful video, as is the one prior to this. I was hoping to set the timer to have the heater come on daily for an hour and then turn off itself, but it appears its only possible to set it to come on once, and then you need to set the off time while the heater is running... Am I picking this up correctly?
Yes that is correct. It only allows for 1 program at a time
Yes that is correct. This controller doesn’t allow to set multiple or reoccurring timers
After it comes on from timer, it does not respond to off timer setting. You have to shut it off, then back on to get a timed off, what a load of crap, I'm sending it back, maybe they will fix it if there is enough returns.
Do you know how to fix E-02 over voltage?
Could be a faulty temperature sensor, otherwise a faulty motherboard. Have a look through the following link. myrigadventures.com/chinese-diesel-heater-problems/
After priming, I turn the power on and then it shuts down and powers off after a few seconds. Any thoughts?
That’s a new one. Any error codes come up?
No error codes. I primed the pump, hit the power button then tuned off after a couple of seconds
Had the same problem because my 12V battery was VERY old and too weak to power the heater. Bought a new 12V and the problem was resolved.
What is your elevation? I think that might be your problem.
My heater does not stop when it gets to set temperature. For example:
1) Trailer is at 14C
2) I set temperature to 20C. Heater turns on and heats
3) Trailer reaches 20C. Heater goes to minimum setting but does NOT stop
4) Trailer temperature keeps rising to 25C+, very uncomfortable.
How can we have the heater turn off or run fan alone when reach desired temperature?
The heater won’t turn off until you turn it off. It is quite slow to react to temps so try setting to a lower temp
@@2005mic ah that's the issue then. Even when in the minimum setting, it's too much heat. I was hoping heater would auto turn on/off as needed

Got a E8 code. Pump is pumping Diesel. I removed and checked the glow plug and it got very hot. Primed to a point that raw fuel is coming out of exhaust and still shutting down on E8. Screen on glow plug is clean...HELP PLEASE...
Check that the fan is spinning freely and magnets are in place and being picked up by the motherboard
Any tips to rectify this please
