I've spent the last 3 days trying to figure out this controller this video answered all my questions and now it's up and running perfectly thank you very much
To prime the pump hold both arrow buttons down. When you let go it will stop priming. Also, for anyone curious, the timer can be set and engaged in the on and off modes. If you engage it when it’s in the on mode, the off timer will engage. And vice versa. You cannot get it to say, turn off and then turn back on without touching it. It will only do the one timer action before you have to turn the timer function back on to get it to do another.
After 3 weeks of pressing buttons in all kinds of configurations, I'd just figured out 1/2 of what you showed here My big problem was the pairing of the remote. After following your instructions several times, it suddenly decided to enter into menu mode and I could pair it. Nonetheless, I am really happy with my "8kw" (5kw in the real world). Specially the simplicity of it's working and the serviceability of it when we want to maintain or repair it. This week I'm ordering a set of kits and parts so that come spring, on a warm spring afternoon, I'll open her up, and clean everything ready for next fall.
Yes thank you. I finally got the remote programmed pressed the gear and left arrow to get the clock to show up, and then I could press power and right to get the remote programmed
If you need to relocate the controller, you can cut and splice the cable. I used 16 gauge and some butt splices. Choose the thicker gauge than the original wire to compensate for voltage drop. Wasn't sure if the distance was going to cause big enough voltage drop to cause an issue but the price of the cable is very similar. So why not? You can get black, red, and blue from a hardware store. I just used black and labeled them so I didn't get my wires crossed. No issues.
Thanks for the instructions on pairing the unit to the remote. I played for weeks trying the instruction book and other's video instructions to no avail. Yours was correct for this unit controller. Another thing that I had to figure was the pump priming function. No one has covered it yet, however I found that in standby mode, you can press and hold the two arrow keys for the length needed for the priming function. Once you release the buttons, it pulses an additional second or so then stops. Hope that can help others with this newer 2022 blue controller.
Thank You for making this video. Very clear instructions. Mine fired up the first time after watching the video. I plan on making use of some of the heat that radiates from the exhaust pipe as well as what comes from the unit itself.
I was thinking about doing the same thing. You should make a video of what you come up with. I was thinking about running the exhaust through a 3" flex duct that would protect me from accidentally burning myself on the exhaust as well act as a heat sink to radiate the heat from the exhaust pipe back in to the room. I was thinking about possibly wiring up a CPU fan to it somehow so I could circulate air through the 3" duct as well.
Greatly appreciated. Your video is so much better than trying to follow the instructions. Chinese to broken engrish transcribed back to Chinese followed by non user friendly english.
I just bought one of these heaters. I decided to improve it inside and replaced fuel lines, added a fuel filter. Thanks for explaining the functions on the device. Very helpful. Dean 🇬🇧
I did also improve the lines in mine with hard nylon lines . Way better lines for a pulsing pump. I didn’t realize people needed video on that topic since I had found a few .
I just bought mine off Amazon (8kW / thin upright version / only 137 dollars) and mine already has the smaller hard white nylon lines fitted. They must be learning from the reviews. Happy to see that.
Bought one last Fall, installed it today (June 15th) Thank you for your video as my display panel is the newer version and the booklet is horrible, your video is awesome, was nice to see there was no sequence to pump the fuel as another video was showing with a different display, that was my problem I couldn't figure out how to pump the fuel, finally I just pressed the ON and after awhile the pump started as in your video and the unit worked perfectly. Now I will be able to set up my remote thanks to you. Merci Norm !
Nice explanation... Thanks! One comment on your setup is that the air intake for the combustion should really be routed outside too, as this keeps any risk of fumes from the combustion side of the heater from being blown back into your garage. Also as someone else mentioned, the (alleged) silencer has a drain hole in it for condensation, so should also be outside the building as that will be leaking some fumes into your garage too.
Was going to mention the intake but for reason that when you mount the intake indoors it creates a vacuum in the room, which will pull cold outside air in from the books and crannies of the building walls, effectively making your system less effective and less efficient. Thank you, You taught me another good reason about the fumes though. Of course it shouldn't happen, but certainly not pleasant if it did!
Thanks, man! You saved me from returning the heater as defective - couldn't figure out how to pair the remote, and every other video was pointing me in the wrong direction.
I want to thank you so much for this video, I have talk to VEVOR who has basically given me this heater, because they could not tell me how to make the remote work, and it would cost too much to return it. And now I have Marianne the remote up here and it’s working perfect. Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you for showing this information. was not able to program the remote or figure out the controls for this new controller ..its identical to older model but it's different software
This video is so good!!! thanks a lot. I have a question… For the heater to turn off automatically once the room temperature is reached, should I extend the display to the interior of my teardrop?”
Hey thank you. Your video is the only one that was correct to pair my remote. Been looking for days to figure it out. I guess theirs more then one design blue controller
Hi there, Thanks for your video, it’s helped me get to grips with setting the timer. Can you tell me how to choose between manual and auto when it starts up on the timer. Thank you ☺️ EDIT Also, after many attempts of going through the timer setting process, I find I have to press ok after setting the first timer for switching on, otherwise it reverts back to the previous time I had set. The biggest problem I’m finding though, is that the heater isn’t turning off using the second timer. When I go out to my garage, the timer is no longer showing and the heater is still running. The only time it shuts off with the timer, is if I set the timer while it’s running!
It’s so wild how complicated this is. I think I’m terms of User interface usability, I’d prefer an entire keypad with many buttons, instead of the press-and-hold 2 buttons simultaneously. You almost need a masters degree for this, and I can’t just attribute that to the language barrier between Chinese and English either. Woosh, thanks for explaining it and sharing! I’ve spent 25 years as a software engineer, almost exclusively on User interfaces (“front end”) and I’m not a “user experience” expert, but this would be such an excellent interview challenge for UX designers. A gold mine, really. How would you design it better? What would you take away? What buttons would you add? Apple would do it nicely I’m sure. Steve Jobs, we need ya man!
Great video! My first day using it, I ran it for 10 hours, no problems. I never smelt anything till the shut down. This is a lot of bang for the buck. See how long it lasts?
Thank you for this, but I am still trying to get to the fine tuning settings on this version. I'm just trying to adjust the pump speed so it's not guzzling fuel.
@@TheAllSeeingAye I put in alpine mode for now (i'm at 230mt over sea), but too rich with diesel, with some vegetable oil that contain oxygen should be better but the problem is that with long exhaust (about 2 meter) tube you should add air to compensate loss in pipe, is factory calibrate for short exhaust pipe.
I saw in another video that there is no adjusting available except high altitude, Alpine mode. And that no password are available for additional functionality.
Thanks for the video, my question is how can I change the PF value to 1=35W? Pressing the Settings button does not happen and I can’t enter the different modes. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, I just unboxed mine this afternoon and kept trying button combinations but didn't have any idea what did what. Somehow managed to pair the remote, but didn't know what the mountain icon meant or how to run the timers, or anything about auto or manual modes. Wish I'd have found your video sooner!
Good video, I just have a few observations about your exhaust. Your going to want to make sure that it's at a constant downwards slope to avoid building condensation. More importantly, you want to make sure your muffler is outside of the space your heating. It has a small pin hole at the bottom for condensation/ waste fuel can escape from and it will emit just a tiny bit of exhaust. In a big space such as yours it would take a long time to build up enough c02 to be harmful, but last year a ice fisher died in his shack overnight due to having the muffler on the inside to put it in perspective....
Thanks for the video , I’ve just recently purchased a 2 kw unit with a controller same as yours .. thanks for the tip .. especially how to switch it to a temp chasing unit rather than been on a manual mode 👍 Can you tell me ( video) though how to go into the fine tuning settings Cheers thanks 👍
Thank you! I was about to buy a new controller because I thought mine was faulty. Turns out all of the videos are for the older ones that operate differently.
There's other videos that explain the older blue controller which looks identical to this one. Mine doesn't have the red circle, and the manual mode and timers are completely different than this, Also, these new ones are not compatible with the afterburner wifi control add-on.
Hi there! Thank you for your vídeo! Could you advise how high I should be to use plateau mode? I’m in 2400m now and I don’t know if I should use this mode.
Thank you sir! you have the same controller/remote as I do. I had 3 questions and you answered 2 of them. I can use the OK button to cycle from SG# mode to thermostat mode, but once in Thermostat mode, how do I adjust the setpoint temp? Any help is appreciated!
I managed to get the heater onto lo by pressing the OK twice, I find it confusing to operate, I just want it to tick over quietly, like my old heater used to do
Did not work. Just got mine, blue LCC has the red circle. However the Primer would not activate. Pressed Settings and Down arrow with quick press at same time, pressed and held then released still nadda. SO this is what I did instead if others are having this issue. I had to remove the cover so I could see the fuel feed line. I then had to press and hold both the UP and DOWN arrows, this would manually run the pump. IF I let go of the buttons it would stop so I had to hold the buttons pressed down until I could see the line feed was full and had little to no air bubbles in it. I then replaced the cover and started the device, everything else ran no issues. Not sure why, but if folks press the settings and down arrow and get nadda this is a possible option. Otherwise loved the video, very informative...
Thank you sooo much for the video. I just bought a heater that looks just like yours from Vevor. The instructions in the manual that came with it are mostly wrong. Most (all?) of the other videos showing blue controllers match my incorrect manual. Their controllers look identical except the gear on yours and mine is a spanner on theirs. Anyway, my only other question is how do you prime? My manual says hold the gear and the down (right pointing) arrow. This does not start the prime. Please help! It's cold in here!
Nvm. I finally figured it out. On this controller with the gear and three fan blades, to prime you need to hold down the left and right arrows for a few seconds. It will start to prime while you hold them down, then stop after you release them. There is no indication on the screen of this happening like the 'H of' or H on' as with some other controllers.
Yes enjoyed it, very interesting and thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. I was getting nowhere fast ..... the instructions are so dire!!
Hi, Nice video! I have a question for you, did you had any smell from your unit? I have just bought one and it smells like burn rubber. Thanks for your time
Hi everyone. I get a code that the fuel pump is not working. A completely new unit. Is it possible that the wires are mixed up + - or does it not matter for this pump?
i have a very strange lcd controller on my 5kw heater ,it shows a flame icon ,when the burn chamber lights ,and the flame icon is where normaly the heat bars are ,and below the heater picture ,i have 8 flat bars across the bottom of lcd controller screen .so it has 8 heat settings .i,ve not seen another one like it .
Is there a way to get the thermostat and controls away from the heater?? I need the thermostat and controls inside my camper…but the portable unit running outside. Any ideas??
Hey there how are ya? I’m gonna get one of those heaters for my garage. I hope to do the dual tank set like you as I have lots of filtered oil ( black diesel).
On my controler I see 00.1, 00.2 etc etc are those not just in actual minutes? You said something about tenths and each one being 6 min?? I think I passed math with a 51 so help me out here lol. I tried setting my timer and nothing happened but I think had left it flashing in the “off setting so I’ll tru again leaving it on “on”. I had set it for 00.1 ON and 00.8 OFF thinking it would come on in 1 minute after I set it and off in 8 min.
great video --Ok I screwed up and started pressing buttons when first powering up - can you tell me how to get back to the starting point please so i can prime the line/heater - thanks
That’s easy , remove power and start over lol. Press both left and right arrows at the same time and hold during the entire prime about 30 sec . After you release it will run about 3 to 5 secs
@@Storman77 I already unplugged the power (12 volt) and the same screen popped back up prior to unplugging - after I screwed things up I found another video saying to press gear button and right arrow then release and press the left arrow
My temperature runs 208-218, I just got the heater and haven't changed anything yet. Is that temperature to high and if so how can I fix that? My heater also smells warm, the longer it runs the more it smells. No white smoke out of exhaust.
Its well worth bearing in mind, that anyone unlucky enough to have a fire, either in a vehicle or in a building, with one of these heaters operating, is 100% certain going to have an insurance claim refused.
I would agree which is why I never run while asleep or away from house. The main reason I use it for is my camper trailer which is why it’s portable because it will be outside for sure . Thanks for tip !
@@mikeb3010 No. The heaters dont meet any recognised safety standards, and anyone unlucky enough to have a fire (even if nothing to do with the heater), would be very unlikely to get paid. Bearing in mind the value of some of the vehicles, these heaters are fitted into, it seems astonishing the owners are not concerned about insurance problems?

Hi there I have the same controller and remote as you, but still I can’t get it to pair? I have OC1 on my screen, and for pairing on my remote but nothing happens? It’s so frustrating.
Hey Norm, I have the same Controller. I think this version is also able to run with 24 Volt . But I have an other question for you. How can I prime the heater before starting? At the older controller there was a menu where you can use a secret code like 1688. With this code you was able to change different settings like vent speed, Herz and so on. It's this new controller also able to take this secret codes ? Thanks in advance ✌️
My handheld remote was stuck in Chinese so if you hold the OK button it will put it into English. That said I paired my old remote, The newer one was Laggy. I was hoping I could have them bothpaired So I could have one in the car and one on my couch 🛋
Is there a setting to just prime the pump. Also do you have to pair the remote every time the battery is disconnected. I just got this very unit and am try to set it up for the first time. Great video thanks for making it!!
I have a heater that is giving me a e4 code. I have removed fuel pump and tested on a different heater. I have the code appear as soon as it’s turned on. Fan not spinning or glow plug not starting. Any idea what could be going on? Motherboard?
Check the connections unless you are sure the pump is 100% ok. The unit checks for continuity on all its connections and if one is missing it won’t go in start up mode for safety
Other controllers can set range for pump rate in Hz and fan RPM to accommodate incremental elevation change. Can this controller act similarly? How if so? What does Alpine mode do exactly? Unless it senses specific elevation, I can't see how a single alpine setting could accommodate elevation changes over hundreds of meters. I hear pump slow, but a fixed setting can't suit 1500 AND 3000 meters. I'm getting white stinky smoke at 1500m elevation with new 2km unit, which had worked fine here for a few weeks. Alpine mode doesn't help. Consensus: mix is the problem, so advice is to alter pump Hz and fan RPM. HELP thx and hny.
i read that "short press ok and power button at same time, then put 3 digits code, not sure if it is 678 or 987, then you should be in fine tuning, let me know if it works . . .
I believe other have corroborated the procedure you describe; sadly the menu displayed subsequently reveals superficial data and not fuel-air mix control. Thanks anyway!
Got a new 8 kw unit Hooked it up put fuel in primed it and hit the start. It starts the fan and in about 10 seconds the screen goes black and then comes back. No start it does this over and over no start. What am I doing wrong
Maybe you didn't supply enough power. Use a well charged car battery. The unit needs app. 10A for fan, glowpplug and pump during startup. Maybe your device is faulty. Glowplug short circuit?

Glad I could help
I managed to get the heater onto lo by pressing the OK twice, I find it confusing to operate, I just want it to tick over quietly, like my old heater used to do
Thank you good sir this helped me out a lot
Good find, mine literally just showed up in the mail, I was about to just jump the pump and prime it manually 😂
Helpful video on the controller, since the directions in the box are useless. 👍
thanks for the info seems like a good heater
just bought the 3kw unit can you change from c temp to f temp
Yes enjoyed it, very interesting and thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. I was getting nowhere fast ..... the instructions are so dire!!
What temp does everyone’s heater run at? One of mine holds 208-212 and the other sits around 180*
Hi, Nice video! I have a question for you, did you had any smell from your unit? I have just bought one and it smells like burn rubber. Thanks for your time
Not at all
Did you sort out the smell, I have just installed one and have exactly the same. I'm guessing it's the newness
@@peterking763 It is, now after 4 tanks, it does smell still, but just a little, just let it break in
You installed it with the rubber cover at the bottom.
@ hi, It was tuning and letting it run for a while.
Hi everyone. I get a code that the fuel pump is not working. A completely new unit. Is it possible that the wires are mixed up + - or does it not matter for this pump?
Yes it’s possible. Does the panel light up? What’s the exact code number ?
You’re a legend sir 👍🏽👋🏽
I have the same unit and controller. Unfortunately I was told these can’t be calibrated.. mine is a pig on fuel..
use the alpine mode it uses half the fuel than main setting so you have 12 H settings then 6 on alpine mode and 6 regular
i have a very strange lcd controller on my 5kw heater ,it shows a flame icon ,when the burn chamber lights ,and the flame icon is where normaly the heat bars are ,and below the heater picture ,i have 8 flat bars across the bottom of lcd controller screen .so it has 8 heat settings .i,ve not seen another one like it .
Is there a way to get the thermostat and controls away from the heater?? I need the thermostat and controls inside my camper…but the portable unit running outside. Any ideas??
Bureck thermostat
Hey there how are ya? I’m gonna get one of those heaters for my garage. I hope to do the dual tank set like you as I have lots of filtered oil ( black diesel).
Hey where i Come to the Menü wehre i can set the pump settings
How do you enter the advanced settings at this model?
On my controler I see 00.1, 00.2 etc etc are those not just in actual minutes? You said something about tenths and each one being 6 min?? I think I passed math with a 51 so help me out here lol.
I tried setting my timer and nothing happened but I think had left it flashing in the “off setting so I’ll tru again leaving it on “on”.
I had set it for 00.1 ON and 00.8 OFF thinking it would come on in 1 minute after I set it and off in 8 min.
How do I switch this exact controller model to Fahrenheit? The others seem to do it easy but I can't find a video of this one doing it
I saw in another video that it's not possible.... Bummer. I guess I'll print out a conversion chart and tape it to the unit.
great video --Ok I screwed up and started pressing buttons when first powering up - can you tell me how to get back to the starting point please so i can prime the line/heater - thanks
@@bwurts yes it depends which version you have . Either one will work depending on your version
@@bwurts do you have P12 v and a Red circle left bottom corner?
@@Storman77 cant remember - at work now - i will check later thanks for the help
My temperature runs 208-218, I just got the heater and haven't changed anything yet. Is that temperature to high and if so how can I fix that? My heater also smells warm, the longer it runs the more it smells. No white smoke out of exhaust.
Mine was upside down and caused diesel to leak! Check orientation
Thanks a bunch!!
Thanks 👍
and will temp come on and off on temp or will it run all the time on heat setting
Runs all the time at lower temperatures
When are we going to get a controller that I can set 07:30 to turn it on at 730am !!!!! how hard can it be!
Great video
Thanks!
Great video thank you
Its well worth bearing in mind, that anyone unlucky enough to have a fire, either in a vehicle or in a building, with one of these heaters operating, is 100% certain going to have an insurance claim refused.
I would agree which is why I never run while asleep or away from house. The main reason I use it for is my camper trailer which is why it’s portable because it will be outside for sure . Thanks for tip !
@@Storman77 Ok. Some people are unaware there is no insurance cover, if one of these heaters is in use, and there is a fire.
Hi, Many have the component diesel heaters fitted into motor homes, are they not covered either?
@@mikeb3010 No. The heaters dont meet any recognised safety standards, and anyone unlucky enough to have a fire (even if nothing to do with the heater), would be very unlikely to get paid.
Bearing in mind the value of some of the vehicles, these heaters are fitted into, it seems astonishing the owners are not concerned about insurance problems?
@@humourless682 I bought one, not used it yet, your post got me thinking. At the back of the instructions, there is a CE certificate, I googled them, a page to check certificate comes up 404error…
Have you figured out how to change from Celcius to Fahrenheit?
You are the best!! Finally 3 months later i connect my remote!! Thank you!!! One question how did you get temperatures like 176c???? İ put my heather on manual 6 and max i can get is 134c and you get 176 on manual 3? How is that possible? Have a nice day and thank you!!!
I might be deg of F ? My infra red is usually on deg of F . And I get to 350 on H3
He, on 8:40 you get on Manual H3 176 decrees on the screen. İ get on H6 (maximum) 136Decrees and on H3 only 80 Decrees 😭 i wanna know how is this possoble did you change something on settings? Thank you for the answer! ♥️
We have exactly the same heather and computer(display)
@@kuheylan27 do you have a 2 KW heater ? I just checked and exhaust is 119 c and the middle of heater is 150c not sure why you get lower than mine
@@kuheylan27 that’s really strange why they don’t produce same heat .
Can you set the fuel to air ration with this controller? If you hold the OK and Power button you get a setting that starts at 000 - what is that?
you need to put the code then you get in to tune the fan/fuel
Anyone know this code? Not looking forward to going through 999 digits
@@DanFisher2 They have already get through the 999 digits, only 678 and 987 get you in but then we do not know witch button combination code, you need to press or . . , my User manual for this controller is s....t, look like it missing some pages . . . 😞 I give up on that for now . . .
I' always send people to this video.
merci beaucoup pour les explication
Mine has the gold controller. It's slightly different. Anyone used it before?
Hello, I have the remote that he doesn't turn on, it's say all the time please wait, and I can not paring with the blue display, do you have any idea what can be, thank you
Hi there I have the same controller and remote as you, but still I can’t get it to pair? I have OC1 on my screen, and for pairing on my remote but nothing happens? It’s so frustrating.
press the ok key on remote if you see OC1 on the main screen
Hey Norm, I have the same Controller. I think this version is also able to run with 24 Volt .
But I have an other question for you. How can I prime the heater before starting?
At the older controller there was a menu where you can use a secret code like 1688. With this code you was able to change different settings like vent speed, Herz and so on. It's this new controller also able to take this secret codes ?
Thanks in advance ✌️
Press and hold the left and right arrow simultaneously for as long as you need. When you release it will run about five more seconds
@@Storman77 thanks a lot for your help Sir. I searched für this pre prime Option since 2 weeks. Now it works. Thank you!
@@Storman77 That pointer helped me today when I fired up my new heater for the first time.
Hi there. I can’t seem to pair my remote? Can you help me 🙏🏼
My handheld remote was stuck in Chinese so if you hold the OK button it will put it into English. That said I paired my old remote, The newer one was Laggy. I was hoping I could have them bothpaired So I could have one in the car and one on my couch 🛋
Not the one I have, take care.
Hi, how enter in special menù? For change parameter?...in the Owen manual there isnt this display, its explained for other display
That's what I want to know too,it's burning too rich with black smoke
Put it into Alpine mode hold setting and ok together a little mountain will open up and ur pump will slow down
Is there a setting to just prime the pump. Also do you have to pair the remote every time the battery is disconnected. I just got this very unit and am try to set it up for the first time. Great video thanks for making it!!
The priming is in the video, press both left and right arrows same time and hold . No pairing once is enough .
does it automatically prime? or do you need to do it on the menu as ive seen in other videos
Prime the unit. Follow my instructions in one of my videos
To prime press both arrow keys then the right one to stop.
Thanks but would love to know how to change the temperature from C to F thanks
Yes, can you tell me how to change it from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Hi, can you tell me the combo Key that must be keep Press for activate the pump without start the burner, when the fuel circuit its empty? Thanks.
Both arrows. To prime . 👍🏽
@@richwhite8592 thanks👍👍👍
@@lucacavallini561 no problem, enjoy.
No
My new VEVOR comes with an actual elevation mode that senses barometric pressure. Wish me luck.
Got a new 8 kw unit
Hooked it up put fuel in primed it and hit the start.
Do wee are able to ajust the temp for exemple at 14 celcius and whend the temps weel be at 14 celcius, this air heather will start ? And if they weel go on stenby if is to hot ?
It doesn't shut off in auto.mode it just turns down to the lowest setting. Wish it would turn off then turn back on once it's below the set temp
