    My first solo trip was in Chicago, I was nervous because of the crime. But it was awesome and felt so independent! Great learning experience. I went without telling my parents because they wouldn't agree. I went for 4 days, 3 nights. My plane was struck by lightning on the way there. LOL! Now I'm on my second solo trip in South Korea for 7 weeks (first time in another country) and this time definitely my parents know yay! I don't know Korean, but I try to learn from those that know English and Korean to teach me some of the basics. The first is learning how to read hangul (the writing system) and pronouncing the words. It was a major culture shock and hard to communicate, but after the first 24 hours, I got it down.

    For everybody who plans to go to Vienna: Don’t take the City Airport train! It is way too overpriced and isn’t part of the public transport system. The normal Public transport system goes to and from the airport and is way cheaper than the city airport train.

    Ok first things first, nice vid style, you are very natural in front of the camera, keep the vids coming!
    PS: nice dress choice.
    Food:
    1.) CMON! Going to Vienna and you mostly ate SE-Asian....just......why bother actually visiting? I mean...some Tafelspitz, Eiernockeln, Wiener Eintopf....something!
    2.) 9:50 Going to a coffee house and ordering tea is like going to a steak house and ordering a salad. The relaxing part was right.
    Travel:
    -) The CAT is a good choice to travel from the airport to the city center, its actually more practical the other way as you can check in your bags at the train station. Yes, its quite expensive - the local trains going the same route but taking longer cost a fraction of it.
    -) 8:22 thats a museum, quite a nice one actually, why didnt you go in?
    -) 8:29 Good choice.
    Missed on major attractions: Schloss Belvedere, St Stephens Cathedral, State Opera, Parliament, Town Hall, Charles Church, Naschmarkt, hundertwasserhouse, modern Vienna (Danube Tower), Prater (Ferrys Wheel), Heuriger.

    my only question is how can you get through the language barriers? I want to travel more to different countries but I'm nervous I won't be able to get around. you make it look so easy though XD

    • @lindseym329
      @lindseym329 5 років тому +1

      LivingwithBC when I was traveling Europe I downloaded the google translate app and you can pre-save the languages you want so that you don’t need WiFi to look up certain words/terms when you’re actually in the country :) it was super helpful!!

    • @bpal5644

      Google maps to get around. Most restaurants have English menus and you just point to what you want. If you don’t understand the language they will know - especially when you give them a blank stare once they’ve spoken. It’s really not an issue.

    • @koalasrock99
      @koalasrock99 5 років тому

      Also not every country, but a lot of European countries teach English in schools, so a lot of people, esp in touristy areas speak pretty passable English. I was just in Greece and never once had an issue with language barriers

      I think Germany and the Netherlands wouldn't be a problem without knowing any words. Its better to know the 'normal behaviour' in certain situations. They begin teaching english in the elementary school in Germany and i think in the Netherlands as well
