First time visiting Austria and you see the president, awesome!
hi flying the nest,,nice video
@@rolandwagner1209 do you know friedrich haas
6:52 this is the "Pestseule", a memorial to the victims of the black plague that ravaged this city from 1678 to 1679 and claimed 70.000 to 120.000 lives. The memorial was finished in 1693. Love from Austria and feel free to ask me for more facts about my city. P.s. Stay safe during all that's going on with the lock down and the mass protests.
You really missed out at tho h&m shop. One of the best architecture
WHO is from Austria too???🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹❤️❤️❤️(Austria4life❤️🇦🇹)❤️
I bin a Österreicher

Hier🙋 ich😜
Ich bin halb Italiener halb Japaner und wohne in Mödling
so funny to see my hometown of a tourists view. living there, and walking by all these places every day leads to some kind of ignorance. so happy to live here.
same, haha
tourists and visitors always make us look at our hometowns from a different angle
Ja, ich bin auch froh !
You are lucky, indeed.
who were the people that were there with the army then?
The two important people were Austrian and Slovakian president! :)))
That is so crazy!
Just because you mentioned it in the video: Austria does not have a Prime Minister, but a Federal Chancellor. ;-)
And by the way: you stamped the ticket the wrong side up. That way it was invalid and you'd get a €105,- pemalty. :D
I am an Austrian and Slovak😂
@@flyingthenest and the music they played is Slovak national song
Best Moment of the video 😂😂😂😂😂
How could St Stephen's not be on your list?...lol!
We had cathedral written down but forgot to put the actual name of it 😂😂 jet lag got the better of us!
Ughhh Vienna stays forever in my heart as the most beautiful city in Europe, even better than Paris. The architecture is so grand and ornate! Keen to see your Slovenia vlogs!
Agreed! Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities we have ever visited!!!
thanks guys
Would recommend Riga! Beautiful architecture
Sam Bissett im glad to hear that omg I live in Vienna
Sam Bissett thank you .i life in The near from Viena (on german ,Wien )
Its so funny to watch how other people see my home Country, how normal its for me and how excited other people get when they see all this, kinda refreshing to watch
I am from Vienna, and it is fun to see how ya guys explore my city. :)
I will be there in less than a month! I am wondering if a day trip to Slovakia to visit Bratislava castle is worth it? What are your thoughts? :) Love to hear the opinions from the locals who know best!
Well, i live in Austria and never visited Slovakia. So i can't tell if it's worth. :/
Down the Wrabbit Hole Travel Hey! I‘m from Austria and in my opinion, visiting this castle isn’t really worth it, because Austria has such a big number of sights to visit and you shouldn’t wast your time, sitting in the train or ship on the way so this castle.. :) hopefully you‘re going to have a great time at my city!! I‘d definitely recommend you to visit the Stephansdom (Stephans Cathedral), the Riesenrad at the Prater 🎡 and for shopping you could go to the Donauzentrum which is a shopping center or to the Mariahilferstrasse (a street)! A beautiful place here too is the park between the historical and technical museum! have fun in Austria ❤️🇦🇹
My name is Vienna and I'm visiting there in March
tourists and visitors always make us to look at our hometowns from a different angle
I think the best way to see a city is to walk and just wander around, you’ll never know what you might find!!! Enjoy watching your videos!!!
We totally agree! Hope you enjoyed watching us wander around in our jet lagged state 😂
The library is indeed the most beautiful one in the world..with books from the 14th century...definetly a MUST to watch
You actually saw some sort of an official state visit, because that was Slovakian national anthem, they were playing and the other guy next to the Austrian president was the president of Slovakia :D
pretty cool bumping into that!
Im from austria😋
hi i am going to austria over christmas this year, what whould you reccomend seeing. I have planned some stuff like third man stuff so just looking for any reccomendations really, thanks.
Richard Upton in winter, you have to go skiing in Salzburg and enjoy all the good food :)
@@rupert-j8f where exactly in Austria? :)
hi ax in vienna, i have a day when im going to bratislava on a coach but the other days i am in vienna centre for 8 days then in berlin for 4.
I a
It's so funny to see you two are so impressed about all the thinks I see everyday
I‘m from Vienna and you really met our president 😱😱
4:57 Good morning in german is "Guten Morgen". "Guten Tag" is absolutly fine.
6:04 That is St Stephens Cathedral. It got built throughout several architectual styles 4ex the main entrance being Romanic and the main church building being gothic. You can visit both the Southern and the Northern Tower (the last one is smaller but has an elevator) and the catacombs underneath.
6:13 That is Palais Equitable, today used for business offices and shops. The french word "Palais" gets often translated as "palace" but is a general term for a huge, elegant house of a wealthy person -> mansion. The name is usually of the person or family that built it.
6:31 Domkirche can be translated to something like minster church. The word "Dom" is a general term for a very large eclesiastic building. A cathedral instead describes the seat of a bishop - which is the case with St Stephens.
8:02 That huge building to ur right is called Hofburg and was the Imperial Residence of the Habsburg. Today - as the palace complex is HUGE - it is used for several different things 4ex the National Library, the Historical Arts Museum, the Imperial Treasure Chamber, Imperial Weapon Collection, Natural History Museum, Albertina,......
8:16 No! Pinocchio was written by Carlo Collodi a Toscan writer.
8:35 Ur entering a different section of the Hofburg. This one here is a small park called Burggarten - garden of the castle. On the other side there is one called Volksgarten - garden of the people. The Habsburg set one public garden in their castle for everyone to enter and one for the royal family.
9:24 Thats the Austrian (with glasses) and the Moldavian President.
10:04 Could have told u that xD Most museums in Austria are closed on Monday. By law they have to have one off day out of seven.
11:35 The 72h card costs 17,10€. The city pass u have there is more expensive but grants lower fees at many museums and attractions.
11:53 Thats the Town Hall - about 5min away from the Hofburg u were before. The other building in front is the Burgtheater - theater of the castle and is part of the Hofburg complex.
Youre the best in our comments thanks so much for all your advice!!
Actually if you want to sound local, you should use "Grüß Gott". Almost no one uses "Guten Tag" (but it is fine if you do)
Where can I find the card for 17 eu for 72h?!
That is the Slovakian President Andrej Kiska - not the Moldavian President!
@@elha92 I'm from Vienna and you say servas
The museum of natural history in Vienna is amazing! A must see!
Isn’t it awesome that we have so many great cultures, old architecture and diverse landscapes all in one continent? I love our Europe!❤️
I'm from Vienna and it's true, on my point of view, I love bread sooo much😍
I live in Austria and I work in Vienna but I never saw our President from that perspective like you did. 😂 Now i'm kinda jealous...
Julian Hagmann same
Julian Hagmann ....hellooo...🤗
there were two actually :D at the time the slovak and the Austrian one..what a nice coincidence to go there for 48 hours and right at the time see two presidents close up
i'm a real viennese, i love my town really but, as everybody, you often "forget" to see all those beautiful things..
i gets normal.. like a parisienne drives by the tour eiffel without taking care about it..
it's normal but still a little bit sad..
that's why i've always been kind of jealous of all the tourists, who get a completely other view and impressions when the arrive here.. it must be absolutely great to be in vienna as a tourist... it offers simply everything!
i enjoyed all my trips to other great cities like paris, london, rom, venice, munich, dubai and and and.. but still, when i come home to vienna, it's every time
the same feeling: it's simply nowhere better than here! other cities might be bigger, louder, more modern oder more spectacular, but the over-all number 1 goes everytime to my hometown-vienna!
great to see you had a good time here... i had to laugh that you didn't know you were standing in front of st.stephens.. on of the top 3 tourist attractions in vienna and very famous :) :)
been there but there are a lot of places to see in Vienna. Vienna is worth every dollars I spent there. will be back soon when I earn enough money.
Went there for ten days ! Best place I’ve ever been! Cleanest place ever!
i love how you casually ran into the president and didnt know who he was! XD
ill start by saying the recap👍 great addition for people missing the last episode!
The recap and whats coming next is going to be a new addition to our entire Europe series 😁
Great touch guys! Enjoy the working "honeymoon" hope we can meet up one day along our travels!
I've travelled to Vienna this year, and I'm so in love with this city❤
i know i´m late to the train, but it is so interesting to see people get amazed by your city. it just opens your eyes a bit more.. makes you look at it in a different way. thanks guys :)
So beautiful... a dreamy, beautiful country...
Agreed!
Looking great guys! yourv inspired me and my fiance to take 12 months and travel around the world!!
Oh amazing news!! Where are you guys thinking of going?
Everywhere! southern asia, india, nepal, egypt... maybe israel , bulk of the year in Europe .. wev just spent 3 months there and loved it!!!

This is the first time I see any of your videos and OMG, u guys r amazing, not only the places you visit and your fancy recording style, but the chemistry between u both it’s so sweet
Just got back from Vienna after a month vacation and I've seen all these places. Amazing city. My home away from home.
I think you may have inspired my honeymoon planning. And having made my fiancé watch this he has given it the green light! Very keen to keep watching and be inspired!! Thanks for sharing these amazing adventures
Yusss!! Tell your fiance we say you must add Vienna to the list :P
The gloved hand randomly being in the frame is everything!
I used to live in Austria and loved it there. So lovely to see you both enjoying your time there. Love your vlogs!
I‘m going to Vienna next week and this video gave me more excitement than I‘ve even had before!
This is the life I wanted you know. Nomadic, always travelling , living in hotels or budget accommodations and having fun!!!!
just take your time and calculate a similar journey, when you get a total you will notice that someone financed it
Out of all the places I visited in Europe Vienna was by far my favorite !
Love this, definitely on my bucket list and that man staring when you were ice skating 😨😮🤣
The white asparagus is really famous in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Just about everyone eats it in the month of May when it is fresh in season. Usually served with thin-sliced cooked ham and a hollandaise sauce. So maybe that is why there is chocolate that looks like asparagus.
Great to see you guys on the road again! Enjoy your time in Europe!
Loving getting back into travel again!! Was nice to have a little time off tho with the friends and fam 😊😊
This is the first FTN video I watched and now I’m watching it again now I’m actually in Vienna!
Haha wow!! Hope you're loving your trip 😊
I'm from vienna and I've come by that sweets store with the nougat asparagus just a month or so ago with friends who visited vienna. We were standing in front of it wondering just like the two of you. :-)
Glad you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful city.
We absolutely loved Vienna!
Vienna is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world ❤️
So my husband and I went to Steyr, Austria during the month of February and we had snow also and we took the OBB trains to and from Vienna back to Steyr and we were so intimidated and got lost leaving Vienna so next time we will try that Trip Planner app!! We so enjoyed your vlog! We had chicken schnitzel in Vienna and it was the best ever and filled up the whole plate! We unfortunately didn’t make it to the Sacher Hotel for that delicious looking cake but we will if we ever go back!
9:23 are the Austrian president Alexander van der Bellen and the Slovakian president Andrej Kiska.
so cool!
Ex president
what do you mean by ex president
i made a mistake i thought there was a difference between federal president and president
In fact Slovak president Andrej Kiska is no longer in his office, he didn't even nominate.
Slovakia has new president now it's her Zuzana Čaputová.
I think his visit to Austria was something like farewell act due to leaving his office.
Love this vlog!💕 and lmao at the ice skating rink guy who gave you that look😂 epic!
hehe :P
So cool to see Stephen & Jess in Vienna!! I visited a few years ago and had the most amazing time staying with a host family!
Absolutely love it here!
The first thing I thought was James Bond. 😊 Vienna is beautiful, maybe I visit the city next weekend. It just 3 hours with train from my place. 😂 Greetings from Croatia
Yay thanks for this, I’m going to Vienna next week so given me some ideas :)
Ohh you are going to love it :)

😂😂 this trip happened to fall the day after our legal wedding, but its fun to call it a second honeymoon :P
Very beautiful vienna places and the clean
At 9:23, that old man on the right, the one with the glasses, is our president, Alexander Van der Bellen.
Greetings from your fellow Viennese.
I swear the creativity and the quality of your videos get better with every video. Loved it! You keep inspiring me to add more destinations to my list hahah

I love that you didnt knew about one of the biggest tourist attractions in Vienna but went straight to a randome little church
I've missed quite a lot! Catching up now !
Wooo binge watch time??
I am from Vienna and I always go Ice skating like literally once a week or every second day and this guy in the back with the neon green helmet is the funniest guy alive 😂
It's so great that you decided to come to Vienna :) Since I am from Austria I went to Vienna very often but I have never seen the National Library before and I definitely have to check it out now! And I also didn't know that there is an ice skating in front of the town hall, which looks kind of fun. And I am also glad that you went to Schloss Schönbrunn, because I tend to visit it every time I come to Vienna and I also recommended it to you on Instagram ;) And it's funny that you accidentally met our president 😅
Where in Austria do you live?? So happy you enjoyed our vlog :)!!!
Flying The Nest I live in Upper Austria 😊 Linz, Hallstadt and Gmunden are famous places that you might know in UA 😉 enjoy the rest of your Europe-trip 🤗
Funny (and also nice) to see our president and hear our (Slovak) national anthem in your video :) I bumped into your vlog accidently and you two, guys, seem very funny :) Vienna is my second home and after college, I'm going to look for a job in there, but I know all this places personally... in all seasons. By the way, Naschmarkt is my most favourite place in Vienna ever. It's like a little world on it's own. I hoped you enjoyed the most liveable city in the world! :)
currently living in Norway but considering to live in Vienna in the future bc the sister lives there. Its a beautiful city and country.
so beautiful you guys. thank you for taking me to Vienna, Austria
I am so excited to see the library OMG!!!
You just wait! The library is insannnne
That feeling when you are watching travel vlog and suddenly you see your own president (A. Kiska, Slovakia)
So awesome watching this! I did a European Contiki in the summer and fell in love with Vienna so it's awesome to see it in the winter. It's such an incredible city! You guys should have gone to prater park, it's an old school theme park!
So funny sorry we did the trek out there but it was closed 😣
I am from Austria and The Person was our President 😊 Alexander van der bellen - Love this Video 💕
What that is sooo cool!!!
Hey nice you saw our president 😂 Vienna is so beautiful and I am glad that you liked it

The "Library" is the Hofburg, their are the Presidents of Austria ❤️🇦🇹
I Love Europe
I Both Love Europe and Japan

I strongly recommend spending more time in Salzburg. It is much more beautiful in my opinion, with a lot of beautiful mountain towns surrounding it.

My beloved home city!
Makes me remind of beautiful winter days of wien thanks guys for beatifule video :)
Actually Muttley-wheezy-laughed at that gawping old dude ice skating near the end!
Awww this makes me miss Vienna so much!
48 hours was not enough time ! Want to return in the summer so badly!!
I kind of freaked out when I saw the Ronacher Theater with "Tanz der Vampire" at 4:15. I went to Vienna last year to see the Musical and it just was amazing :)
