Hey YouTubians!! Tony here with another tasty review of yet another Casio watch to add to the ever increasing We Try Anything collection.
In this review we take a look at another watch in Casio's range of affordable digital watches and that is at the Casio W-218H and more specifically the Casio W-218H 3AVEF, which is the green case, black strap variant.
In this review we take a look at the design of the Casio W-218H, see what features it has and then pop it on our wrist to talk about what it is like to wear and own. Finally we give you our overall verdict saying whether it is worth considering as a future purchase for yourself or as a present for that special someone.
EDIT: In the video I had mentioned that the Casio W-218H was comparable to the Casio G-Shock DW5600 it should have been the Casio G-Shock DW5300.

Ha ha very true as I am certainly getting older and you can’t beat being able to instantly tell the time from a very legible watch like the one featured!

I agree with what you're both saying. I'm 33 years old, I had all types of watches even smart ones but I settled with a Casio a163w which is my daily driver for 3 years now. Probably my next one will be one of these or an analog mrw-200 series. With age you learn that less is more. Cheers!
I got a black W218 and it’s incredible. It’s a good watch. I don’t dive or swim in 100 feet of water, or climb a high mountain let alone is around electrical interferences. So this Casio is perfect. It style, looks and function is worth it. Not a GShock, but shockingly maybe better for everyday people like me.
Casio needs to step up their square g shock displays. This watch is much more legible and anywhere from 20 to 25 dollars less expensive than casio dw5600e offering.

Just bought this a couple days ago, looks good i would say. I'm still a student now after all, cant afford the likes of g shock dw5600 but they do look like twins. Will upgrade after i graduate, great review btw!

Bro good thing you are still a student. I'm in my 50's and I bought the DW5600E. Can't see a f-ing thing.even the little night light helps zilch. If your eyes are good buy it, otherwise buy a magnifier or stay away
Good review or a great watch.. an absolute bargain, I put this watch through Hell, scratched & bashed on construction site, I was so impressed I bought the same watch in blue & grey, the display is easier to read than the 5600 and the buttons are better than a G-Shock,,, I own some expensive watches but I wear this W-218H every day for the last 3 years..
It's one of my favorite watches to wear. Looks a lot like the classic G Shock DW5300.

It's a great watch. Mine is for working outdoors, etc. A work watch for me.
I like this watch and it would probably be enough for me, even though it has a glass that is easily scratched. Unfortunately, it does not have a countdown timer. This is a function that I need for my sport and that my watch must have, that's why I will be buying the G-shock 5600.
Argos knocked a few quid off the all black version and I finally succumbed. I'm not in the market for a G-Shock but it bears enough of a passing resemblance.
They all look so nice before getting scratches. I like to put a small piece of cell phone screen protector on the crystal as soon as possible.
On offer with £5 off, so it's currently £15 at Argos. Got one today. Nice cat .
Yes people rate it and looks like a smaller g shock style
you can use bull bars from the GW-M5610 on this one.... fyi

I've just fitted a bumper guard / protector to one of these so I can use it in work. Resembles a G Shock with the guard but will no doubt take a beating like most Casios do. Nice cheap work watch.
What bumper did you use?
I nave a few G Shocks and I love them but this watch is fantastic for around £20. The strap is more comfortable for my 8 3/4 inch wrist than my 5610.

the problem with this watch and all $20 watches from casio is that the band will only last 3 months. after that, buy another one.

Nice review and a real value for money watch ... A suggestion to improve - please cut down the "you know"s when you are thinking & talking ...in this case, 74 "you know"s in a 12:48 min video is a tad too much 😁

Unfortunately it is part of being from Birmingham in the U.K. where that phrase is said a lot more than normal. Saying that it is duly noted and I will try my best to lessen the phrase “you know” in the next video I create.

Only issue with argos is the lack of colours and some models. I'm pretty sure this is available in black in Argos.
Totally agree with you regarding the lack of overall colour choice from Argos but they do sell the more popular Casios at a great price!
The Casio W-218H are available only with the black case at Argos. If you want to see a bigger range then Amazon is your best bet.

Does it also have the automatic light like the gshocks?
There is no mention of it on the instructions for this watch (support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw3224.pdf) so I would say that it doesn't feature the automatic light like the G-Shocks as you have mentioned.

Based on some of the examples that I have bought from eBay they do tend to scratch on the main dial window, just down to it being an acrylic glass as opposed to anything that is a bit tougher like mineral glass.
They can also scratch on the case, as most of them are made out of plastic, but for the price that you pay for one of these they make great beater watches if you are not bothered about your Casios gaining a few battle scars.

I think it is suitable for all ages and works well as a daily driver. Just depends on your personal taste in watches.
