This man just made me purchase something i wasn't planning to purchase a minute ago..
Indeed 😂😂
Same
Haha
I also bought a Chinese Knock off at 1.2$
same bro
Every man must own f91w at least once in their lifetime.
Absolutely! It will probably last the lifetime too!
I bought one in probably 2010-2012 and it still stays with a dead battery and no straps. You cant break this thing dude this thing and nokia 3310 are the most indestructable things in the universe
@@Mindplay591
Among these simple, cheap and indestructible things you forgot to mention Kalashnikov AK-47
Dmitrii Grigorita Oh yeah, those are really indestructable and have extremely cheap parts. It can stuck when you fire or even blow on your habd but you can assemble it together again.
Just get the Casio royal
This watch has the heart of a lion. I bought it back in 1989, when I started my basic training in the U.S. Army. It survived everything we threw at it. The horrible humidity of New Jersey, the sand, water, mud, and of course, non-stop action in the direst of conditions in turning me into a real, badass soldier. The Casio laughed at all that and got me through basic training easy. It survived for several years during my Army tour of duty. The straps, after being tortured by sweat, grime and all the elements from cold to extreme heat and endless hours of physical training finally went out. But the watch itself never did. I wore that thing until it could not be worn no more. It is the Toyota of watches. It may not be attractive, but it will never let you down. And that is a beauty all of its own.
I agree and hank you very much for your service!
Thank you, not hank you. Sorry bout that!
@@mistermatsuda Thanks for your nice comments Mistermatsuda. God Bless.
Good thing I bought this watch for my go at basic training. I was going to get the g-shock, but I wanted something that wouldn’t make me stick out From the other recruits and this one fits the bill.
1989 benim doğum tarihim
my dad had rolexes and omegas but towards the end of his life, this was all he wore.
zohanrock the ultimate beater watch
he had them because they maintain or raise in their value, so you can actually make money with them in the long run
your dad probably want to keep the rest of his collection safe and sound to well.. give it down to you! his child! thus leads him to only wearing a cheap beater Casio as his daily piece

"why buy an expensive watch when you cant appreciate how valuable time is"
FarhanAxiq
Damn. Thats deep. Pretty foken deep. 😂😂
someone needs to pin this as the first comment.
Thank you. I needed this. I've been spending a few hours in the last few months thinking about expensive watches knowing that I probably won't buy them because I already have 1JOB watch , 1 social outing watch, 1 night watch.
FarhanAxiq 1
Wow this comment just blew my mind.
This watch is bullet proof, used it in thousands of hot showers, diving, sports everywhere the watch is no doubt best 10 dollars I've ever spent!
Diving? yeah right, muff diving is the only diving you can do with this watch.
Update: my dog destroyed my watch (the rubber bracelet) I'm going to buy a new one.
+fridgemagnet Yeah I would rather use something like G-shock Frogman instead
Did you get a shot on the wrist with a bulet ?
Nah I used to wear it while in the army, only lasted me 2 months and it broke
My same watch fell in the well in my backyard, after 5-6 months, when cleaning the well, the cleaners gave it to me and it was still working... I was stunned.
Little timmy fell down the well?
I went through my whole commercial dive school with this. Diving 2-3 times a week with the deepest depth around 100ft for a year and never had an issue with the water resistance. Absolutely unicorn of a watch between function and price
What is the water resistant on it?
@@AliAbbasi-nn4ontechnically your not supposed too swim woth it, but realistically, I think it can go underwater atleast 10 feet probably more
@@genericascanbe3728 the guy above said he dove with it many times to 100ft. If you google around you can find a guy who hydromoded (filling it with silicone oil - although he used EVOO, haha) an F91 and it survived several hours at ~1000 METERS (so like 3200ft).
I do laps with it several times a week
I have found an F91W on the floor of a car park 12 years ago, never changed the battery in it, it's been in the rain, snow and heat, been dropped and stepped on multiple times and the fact is.. it still works. It's truly an AK-47 in the world of watches ☺
AK 47s break easy lmao
@@theMF69 name a comparable rifle that is more reliable at the same price point
And like the AK, Bin Laden had one.
You should never take someone's else belonging without their permission, even though it's cost $10 it's still a shitty thing to do. But I assume that you were a dumb teenager/kid at that time so no hard feelings.
@Dragon Of Dojima possibly.
The watch equivalent of the Nokia 3310. Indestructible.
Cody
I’ve broken one.part of the “screen” stoped working
These things are cheap. Both products are easy to smash.
The battery in my F91W had died when I found it a few years ago. Took it to a local watch shop and they said they couldn’t replace the battery because it was sealed shut or something :(
Simply you can do it your self.
Some water killed it for me.
I'm saving up for one of these. Its my Grail watch. One day, it will be mine.
Saving 8 dollars 🤣
Hahahaha make sure you don’t spend it all in one place. That made me lol. Thanks
A great comment indeed :)
@@yousefalkhudair4420 There are some places on the world, where 8 dollars is quite huge amount of money; in Poland, in the beginning of the 90's, this watch, as well as many others, was a symbol of wealth, futurism and cool breeze from west - it wasn't cheap, because taxes and traders wind up their price, but it was still affordable for everyone. Now times changed; 45 zlotys (10 dollars) is half of the money you get here for one day of work for least legally payed job. If this guy, that want to save 8 dollars is not an adult with job, and he lives in one of those not as wealthy as west countries, I can believe that he has to save that amount of money for a little while.
Daniel Michalski thanks 🙏 for the information
I bought a Casio W800H in 2012 while stationed at Ft. Hood for about $20. It has been great for me. My wife liked it so much that she asked me to get one for her. My wife has a habit of frequently breaking or losing her wristwatches. So ,a few months ago, I bought an F91W for her for $10 . My W800H broke where the band connects to the watch a few months ago, so I bought an F91W for $10 for me. My wife lost her first F91W, so I bought her another one for her birthday. Her birthday was about two weeks ago and she still has it. Now both of us have the same model again. It has been a very nice watch for the price. I am happy that I bought them. I have also noticed several people at work who have the same model wristwatch.
Proof that not all things require daily firmware upgrades to be relevant.
very true.

I bought my F91-W in Navy bootcamp and it's lasted me all this time. So much sweat, grime, dirt and rain and this little watch has never given up on me. Love the damn thing.
I’ve been a runner and cyclist for 38 years and can’t count how many I’ve gone through. Usually the band breaks but she’s still ticking. Truly one of the best buys in the universe. 11/24/19

"As we grow older, and hopefully wiser, we realize that a $300 or a $30 watch both tell the same time." © Steve Jobs
Before he died and the new guy made the Apple Watch.
And chances are, the $30 watch keeps better time than the cumbersome mechanical movement.
Same should be about iPhones - $400 or $1000 phone both do the same job... and we change both almost in an year🤣
but a smartwatch doesn't just tell you the time, it gives you notifications & some other nifty features. I'd definitely buy a $300 smartwatch over an $300 regular watch.
Just like a $150 or a $1500 phone both perform the same tasks...

@The Genius jeez dude, have some positivity in your head.
Great review! I have a metallic and a black Casio. I use them to hot saunas, ice baths, regular swimming and I can confirm they resist water, cold and heat. Absolute value for money.
I used to be quite snobby when it came to digital watches, but over the past few years I’ve grown to appreciate them for what they are. The Casio definitely is the most cost effective watch you can buy.
Same here. Recently picked up the full metal G-Shock and love it. Couldn’t believe it at first. Haha
Digital watches really have a seperate world than analog ones. You can feel it when you wear it for a while. On digital ones you can tell the time immediately.
There's an honesty about them
SKMEI 1123 or CASIO B640, of which the former is a homage.
SKMEI has a better backlight (although the CASIO at least has two LED lights so it's usable). CASIO has more water resistance and a countdown timer, which the SKMEI lacks. SKMEI is about half the price of the CASIO and both have equally good metal bands and build quality.
@@Mindplay591
Are you telling me that you cannot with a conventional analogue watch or clock?
Still to this very day, the best watch I've ever owned. No nonsense, reliable, and crazy affordable price earned it a place in my collection. Not ashamed at all to wear it. It's been said that "less is more" and this little gem of a watch proves it. Thanks for posting the video.
Your review has made me order one as I watched it. It's truly a digital legend
I bought my A158W with my first salary. It's been 4+ years now. I absolutely love this watch and has never have had any issues with it. Light weight. Reliable. Cheap. Long battery life. Durable.
I think that the retro look of this watch is actually kinda stylish. It's a loveletter to the 80s while still being tasteful.
can it really be called a love letter to the 80s when it's actually from the 80s?
@@onometre it cannot
I like old watches, it just means that the style has stood the test of time, like the casio.
Thank you for saying this. I agree.
In person it really looks like a kid's watch, it's even tiny.
This watch saved my life when I was a kid. I tripped and broke a glass with my left arm, and the glass shards would have cut through my radial artery if it wasn't for this watch... Unfortunately i lost it in this incident, while rushed to the hospital.

There, youtube, I finally saw the video. Are you happy now?
It'll be recommended in a few weeks time.
The real question is, are you?
No, they are not. You're still not exclusively just watching leftist political pseudo news and commentary propaganda channels.
Odds are if you watched this video many more of your unbiased poltical feeds will be replaced with more unrelated videos while your leftist biased ones will keep showing up as they did or even start do ign more repeat recommending even after you watched them.
Make sure you watch the whole video at least a couple times each week.
Thank you for this video! I realize this was the watch I used my entire 2 years in the army. I tied it to my combat webbing every time we went out, and the strap eventually broke after all the abuse we were put through. But this was an absolutely brilliant watch, and so comfortable to wear.
OMG THANK YOU!!!! I had this watch my dad bought me in the 80's!!! that brought back memories!
Just bought one this week and haven't left my wrist. Lovin' it.
I used one for 20 years straight. My father gave to me when I was 12 years old, and I took it off when I was 32 years old because the screen became too dim, too faded and it was becoming hard to see the hours. I can guarantee it's crazy water resistant, you can swim all day long using it how many times you want. I had some scratches in it from my teenage years. I never used another clock, since now we have clocks everywhere we go, but if I was to buy another one it would have to be this one.
After field testing it, rather literally, I thought I would share a few remarks about this watch for potential buyers.
1. Looses about 1 second per month
2. It is more water-resistant than marketed. Wore it for swimming, multiple showers, hand washing and general water involved work. There are also records of it being used in Scuba diving, and examples on this can be found here on UA-cam
3. Very lightweight, low-key, and durable. There are multiple destruction videos of this watch on UA-cam, and they all showcase the same thing: it´s tough!
4. Offers alot of functionality for the pricepoint.
5. In hot climates, there might develop a bit of sweat underneath the stainless steel back and your wrist which gets trapped, and can cause some discomfort and annoyance. Remove the watch, rub off the sweat, and put it back on.
FPAS Spekk you sure about that one second per month? I have an f91w as well and it's more like one second per day. but it's still a great watch for the price
@@eeyyaakk6801 Could be minutes, my bad. Also heard different numbers from different people, so there might be some inconsistencies with each individual watch. Regardless, amazing watch and something I cannot recommend enough. A usual complaint is the backlight, and that there is a more premium version with a better backlight. My take on this is that it is completely irrelevant to the function of the watch, as the backlight in the F91W works just fine for its intended purpose. Those words also reflect the watch very well; it´s just fine!
You forgot steel one can also be used for shaving your arm
My F 91w loses 1 second... per year! WTF
Laynus Socas Torres it is 15 s per month more or less. At least the one I have.
In Turkey this watch regarded as "military watch" since it is the most popular choice among turkish soldiers because of its durability.
Same thing here in Finland!

This lad successfully convinced me to buy a watch which I was never planning to buy XD

I remember having this watch as a kid. The battery lasted maybe 10 years, that was incredible
Needed a cheap travel watch and this video make deciding much easier! Thank you!
All the watches I've had ever since elementary school was Casios. Using a smartwatch now for the extra functions but Casio will always have a special place in my heart. You make me wanna buy one again!
I had a similar watch back in the 80s as a kid. It had absolutely everything I need.
I got mine in the 90's but lost it in the house until a year ago. I was shocked when I saw that it is still working without the batterie ever changed in all the years. And what is even more unbelievable is that the time and date is still right. The only thing is that the wrist band is broken on one side, so I ordered a new set to replace it, hope it comes in the next few days. But all in all a really good watch.
strap arrived ??😂whats the current condition of the watch...still working fine?
Honestly never would have thought someone would 'fake' the F-91W LMFAO 😂

There are so many.
I've been wearing these watches since i was 8 years old, im 39 now... started wearing the A168 years ago because the backlight on the F91W is useless but having watched this vid im tempted to get another!
You want the F-105. That's the electroluminescent version of the F-91.

the thing I really like about Casio? they make buying watches fun. most of their models offer variety. the silver variant of this and the W217H which has an inverted display are my faves. I'm set for the rest of my life lol
yeahh, and they range from dirty cheap to hella expensive. The variety and stylishness, price and how they look and feel when wearing is just what brings me to them.

I just bought a random watch the other day so I can wear at work and not worry about scratching my cell phone etc. It was the only small digital watch in the shop which wasn't one of those biffy watches, so I bought it. It was the w-59, same watch as f-91w but with slightest bigger buttons. Today UA-cam randomly recommends this video and saw it in the thumbnail. I don't even watch similar channels! I had my first Casio F-91W when I was 12 years old. I'm now 28 and its still working to this day. I don't wear it very often now but I wore it all through school and some of my early 20s. I still have it now and will always keep it despite having newer watches since.
I love this watch. I bought it at the Post Exchange at Fort Jackson, SC for $9.99. I wore it all through drill sergeant school.
I still have this watch, it is still working perfectly after so many years. That was my second watch actually. Casio f-16 was my 1st watch, which was lower model without back light, date & day.
It's been 4 years I have this watch. I went deep diving (40 m=4 atm) without dive computer and it survived (not to mention other many recreation dive in salt/sea water). It safes me by counting the minutes when I was in certain depth.
The thin design makes it easier when I put on my wetsuit.
The straps were broken and I forget where I keep the watch but I can still hear the alarm beeping every morning in my studio. 😅
Got one of these for my 11th birthday in 1990. It never skipped a beat and I never had to replace the battery. Only lost my F-91W in 1998 because the band was damaged and I forgot to take it off before going tubing behind a speed boat. Awesome little thing probably kept time early into the 21st Century from the bottom of the lake that became it's home.
The F91w is my daily wearer primarily because it is so thin and light. I have lots of bigger and far more expensive watches but I consistently reach for this one.

After decades of not wearing a watch, I've decided to get back into them. I've been looking at high end stuff and I was getting sucked in to the hype but I realised the F91W is the best watch in the world. It's way cooler than any Rolex.

My absolute favourite watch was a Casio, it had both Analogue and digital time with the clock face being the colour of a classic LCD display, the analogue time was displayed through physical hands and the digital time was displayed by an LCD display that overlayed over the hands (I personally had the digital display show the date over the hands which showed the time) I wish I still had that watch 😪
