That's the only way to do it. If the resource is easily attainable, don't pay for it. I always hated paying for bait. If the the mullet are running and you've got a net, bucket and aerator you've got bait. Shit from pinfish, cut ladyfish, and small crabs the ocean offers you option after option to do your fishing.
I noticed you said that was your first Kingfish, I also am in the Stuart/Martin County area and have been fishing offshore here for 25 years. I’m just moving back after living in Jacksonville over the last five years and if you ever want to fish with an experienced and chill local, let me know. I have all of my own tackle, I have my own boat, and I had a lot of non-public GPS numbers. I like bottom fishing over trolling but trolling is something I’ve been wanting to focus on more lately. Kind of weird to ask someone about fishing together on UA-cam comments but, figured why not.
Love it! My first video, and I’ll say I love the fish in Florida … you guys don’t know how hard it is way up north, I’m so envious …. Keep fishing and telll us what they are and I’d would love to see you eat them!
"Oh I gotta lot of bait" (pulls up cast net) TONS of bait! Just found your channel recently and love it man. Keep doing what you are doing. Tight lines!
As you tossed back all of the Bonita, you may ot have tried them, they are pretty good smoked, with your favorite seasonings ,I recommend Garlic and Lawrys season salt.
I’ve eaten them before and I didn’t really like them much. Instead I should have kept some to turn into strip bait that I could have frozen and used when I went offshore next as a trailer for my trolling lures.
Isn't it really something with some of the smaller fish just fight like crazy we have a olive rockfish that smallish but oh man you hook one you know what you have there is no mistaking that crazy action hell-a fun.
Your terrific,sir…..just LOVE your channel, makes me feel so good watching you catch all those lovely yellow tail.keep on trucking man.Kindest regards,Tony.
Oh yeah open ocean fishing that's where the action is nicely done, oh and I don't want to scare anybody but I've eaten bonito they taste a little fishy but I like that.. That is the only one I would of skinned out of todays catches. Great video awesome day and fyi they do sell a pfd in the form of a fanny pack to use when trolling alone cause if one falls.. (there is also a belt harness to rope yourself in short of the end of the boat cause that's area is for the prop)
Did anyone see at 4:08 the fish (Im guessing) that went shooting from the port side of the boat thru the water leaving a smoke trail like an offshore lure? Looks like a little silver torpedo got shot from the boat.
Rich you gotta come back to the Cape cod Canal!!! things are starting to heat up! And I just recently purchased one of your fishaholic bucktails can’t wait to use it 🤙🏻
If you bleed them cut off the head ,gut them throw them in Ice they not so bad they actually make good sushi the bonita! It's all in the prep and keep! You got some nice fish to take home and eat ,good grind's!Lotta fun!!
... I loved fishing when I was a kid ('50's-'60's). Fresh water was great, but salt water always had a much greater aura of mystery because you literally didn't know what you'd catch ... like a 4 foot sand shark on 20 lb test / spinning rod in Sebago Lake in Maine. Jigging with a Viking lure. When that thing surfaced, I sat down in the middle of the boat and refused to budge, lol.
firsty time i see one of your videos and im very impressed.. finally someone that takes the time to explain and show the all Prosses to help others like me on how to put the magic together! new subscriber here.. thank you
Thanks so much Johander for commenting and watching! Welcome to the Fishaholic Fam I hope I can keep you entertained and teach you a few things to know on the water. Tight Lines!!
You really have to ice down those king fish else the meat becomes very mushy. Also bleeding them out is a good idea because they have a huge blood line. Not something to share on YT probably 😂 Great size to make some smoked fish dip. Great video!!
One suggestion, when you're trolling and get a hit on the rod don't bump the boat out of gear right away, make a turn first. They tend to get off if you bump the boat out of gear right away.
Do you have any videos showing what that Diawa rod can Handel ? I got one from j and h and paired a accurate bv500 on it but have no idea what I really got it for I just know it could handle some good size fish lol
I have a daiwa proteus 7’6H and It’s paired with an Avet SX Raptor, My biggest catch on it so far is a southern ray that was 4.5ft tip to tip and about 130+ lbs. it handled it no problem. They’re a solid rod no doubt.
@@Matspyropowerhouse I’m unaware of how yellowfin fight, but I use it for big red drum, 40”+ and smaller sharks it’s handled everything I’ve hooked on it with ease, definitely a beast of a rod, only thing I dont like is how short the butt of the rod is, it could be another 2-3” but that’s for casting purposes.
@@TexasRed25 sounds good I don’t really plan on using it for casting it’s mainly a boat rod but who knows i got it on a whim cuz it can handle some lead and a pretty big variety of Ocean Fish but I’d love to see someone’s snap one on a grouper or something lmao
Hey Man! love your videos watching and learning all the way from Dubai :). Do you have a link for the teaser you use at 7:00min? can't find anything similar online, nor what it is called :)
Great video! Nice yellowtails, it’s fun to see them caught on big baits. We usually catch them on the really tiny hooks and small cut shrimp in the chum. Awesome eaters.
I know , stupid question and your not answering stupid questions but I thought I ask. Are you on Spot Lock with the trolling motor when your fishing the bottom or drifting .
Fg knot your braid to leader and you won't have to fool with all that extra leader you can't reel up because of the barrel swivel, plus no more wrapping your leader around the plastic hoop lol.
Meant to ask you, why do you carry only the bare minimum of ice when you go out. Noticed on many of your videos that you carry a single bag of ice at most. Is it to minimize your weight?
A set up like yours is all I need to enjoy myself fishing.
Low cost, simple and good.
This dude is a classic fishermen! Catching his own bait and everything
Hahaha or just extremely frugal especially if I know I can get it.

Good eatin' for the next several days! If you're like me your neighbors must love you!
Love the fact that you did different fishing styles. Top water, trolling and bottom fishing 🎣
cool
"Oh I gotta lot of bait" (pulls up cast net) TONS of bait! Just found your channel recently and love it man. Keep doing what you are doing. Tight lines!
I live a little bit South of you and went out today, mirroring your experience. Good to watch yiur efforts.
I will love catching fish with you I will even bring offshore and inshore fishing rods and even a cast net.
20 pieces of ice to keep your fish cold wasn't working for me either Rich. Nice day on the water good catch. Tight Lines 🎣

I would love to hire you for a charter offshore. I'd even bring my own rods!
Bring your own ice too . He definitely knows the spots and techniques. Great Video
+1
He use to charter in montauk NY catching big old strippers
Dude said I would love to hire him 😳
@@NotReallyTripletsIII how do you think charters work?
In my opinion, fishing like this is the most funny, as you do not know what will bites. Last but not least, Bonitos are tasty 🙂
Nice quality fish buddy 👍👍👍. Just take more ice next time.

That fanny pack pfd style to actually deploy it, it needs to be in front. So while in the boat you can spin it to the side or back out of the way
True you fall off the kayak you just get back on, you fall off while trolling the boat leaves you behind..
Hello Rich, exciting video today, many thanks for this.
great day of fishing and catching...you seemed very relaxed in this video...nice job and thanks
Dude this looks like so much fun
What a better way to end the work day!
Kicking it dude always! Gettum! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
I can be there in a couple hours...no need to go by yourself....Brad in Tampa ...lol Great Video !!
You got the best videos on UA-cam period!!
Nice ocean and catch at Florida
Always nice to get a one and done with the cast net. Nice king, mutton and yellow tail. Good eating tonight. Great video

the yellow tails is expensive here on my country, nice catch!
how nice is it to have a boat grate day man!

Thanks Tony! Tight Lines!
Same boat ramp I go to in Stuart fl
Throw some milk jugs filled with water in the freezer for those long hauls man. The block lasts much longer and or extends the life off crushed ice.
This man sure does have a wonderful camera! Sharp and clear and fun to watch his great video.
Good stuff Rich.
Your so damn good man it’s amazing to see from a fresh water fisherman up in Michigan love all the videos 👊🏼

Rich , you ever try finding football swinghook jigs , not sure what type of current you fishing but they work good

I am thrilled every time anew, well done champion, a fun video.
Greetings from Indonesia, thanks for the senior knowledge
I always thought King were gamey, but if you filet them right away we enjoyed sashimi back at the dock!
I'd be happy to come down one day and handle a rod for those double hook-ups! Thanks again for sharing man!
Absolutely amazing day on the water!
Nice one! Fish On man.. Keepsafe
Love the ocean vids!
What was that nifty little school of fish Riggy-rig you had off the stern rod???
Bonita are under rated. Fun to catch and scream drag!
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Saltwater fishing is so badass
Wonderful! Fishing master

What kind of boat are you using. Great Job
Your videos are awesome both kayak and boat fishing I live in Port St. Lucie and have learned a lot from you

Fish on
what reef were you at ? i also fish out of SLI. love the vids
What boat is that. It’s really good
How does the decking hold up?
Great video. Curious that you don't see more red snapper and fewer muttons.
You say "uh" a LOT . But don't matter . Great video lol
Cool looking fish how do they taste
Brave drone work.
Going Fishing after work, and if my day is half as successful as yours I’ll call it a win! Keep it up!
