He's just one of those great fucking drummers everyone will remember in 50 years
He's the drummer you bring up when a jazz fan says heavy metal drummers have no rhythm.
Then if they say he's just playing fast you show them Thomas Haake.
Then if they say he's just playing random rhythms you grab the nearest drumstick or other blunt weapon.
+Bob Jones hahaha fuck yea
junkmail Gar set the standard for metal drummers
No doubt. Even though Dave Lombardo was already around, Gar had way more finesse and groove.
Jonah Martinez there's a whole different level for people like Gar and Brann
Brann Dailor. One of the best damn drummers out there. Period. This guy is a fuckin BEAST behind that kit!
"He can flickety flam dem druhmz..."
HA!!! Brent Hinds is awesome. :)
Oh my god you got the voice of fergie mixed with Jesus. I can't sing and play drums Brent. Well you gotta try can't never could know what I'm saying ?
"It will come together."
The most comforting thing i've heard in months about making music.
Mastodon's drummer, Brann Dailor, sat down with us to talk about his partnership with Tama and why he doesn’t play a 15-piece drum set.
Hell of a drummer and band one of my faves
2% milk?
Brann is the man. Drummer, singer, songwriter. The whole package.
not only could (and have) I listen to hours of him playing the drums, I could also just listen to him talking all the time; it seems he always has something comforting and nice to say or something funny, just an overall great guy
i saw him once at namm just standing around not doing anything. i knew who he was but i didnt go talk to him. i still regret it to this day
Yeah fuck me too,i seen him at perth airport (australia) he was with some mates or roadies.Seen Mastodon at a festival the day before,i kinda chickened out haha
peaner083 I nearly chickened out on my chance to meet Frank Mullen of Suffocation. Thankfully I found the gut five seconds later
Luis Valdivia Lol I had no choice to meet Brann...
I was tailgating with some buddies before a Mastodon and Gojira show in Seattle, Just grillin food in the parking lot, and out of nowhere fucking Brann AND Mario from Gojira, walk out of the side doors where they were loading gear into the venue, and walked up to me and my buddies grilling bratwurst, and brann asks "what's cookin good lookin" and my friend who was grilling offered him a brat and a beer and Brann being the nice guy he is ,accepted haha
Mario was kinda shy and didn't want one because he "didn't want to take all our food" lol, but I never would have imagined I would get to eat brats with Brann and Mario... two of the most badass drummers in metal...
That was 4 years ago, and I still have butterflies in my stomach lol
Brann Dailor has to be one of the nicest people in music.
Yeah, I met my father once, bummed $3.75 from me
#happybirthday Brann Dailor of Mastodon! #tbt to July last year when he joined us at Guitar Center Hollywood to talk about his musical beginnings:
Interview - Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor sat down with us to talk about his partnership with Tama and the process of making music.
in mastodon, he played the drums and also singing. talented man.
*plays
He is not dead
I wish they'd just show them asking the damned questions, so we know what precisely he is answering. We all know he isn't just talking, but they try to make it look that way.

Not only is his drumming top tier but his approach and outlook to drumming is commendable. Has been in my top 5 faves for a long while.
"...and they make incredible drums." Mastodon's, Brann Dailor talks with us about his relationship with Tama and how cool it is to be involved with shaping music.
Nice shirt Brann.
Guitar Center do you close your stores down when these interviews are filmed?
Had this dude sign my License twice! Met him three times. Badass drummer, man!
I use to listen to REMISSION over and over this kat is Unreal on the drums!!
Great drummer. Awesome band
I can't think of anyone more humble than Brann. Thanx for being man!
That’s awesome to have that type of supposed through the years to get going. It’s beautiful to hear that and see the results of support behind you for you dreams
Great singer too.
And he do both things, at the same time and hes a great live perfomer
Brann's drumming amazes me. Some of Mastodon's tracks include beats that sound superhuman.
Amazing well rounded drummer. One of the best!..
I relate to Brann in a sense that I just sat behind a kit one day and started jamming out. Now, I feel I have come a long way in shaping music and playing in ways I never thought would be possible. Brann is an inspiration to me and is a prime example as to why everyone should be involved in music.
shit. he's 40 yrs old. doesnt look like it at all
Badass! My 1st insrument was the drums. I play guitar (since i was 10) but i loooove the drums. I met Brann once. Cool as hell man. As a Buddy Rich fan since i was a pup this dude ROCKS!!
LEGEND.
love him! very talented! 😍🤘
Ele tem o espírito da forma de tocar bateria nos anos 70!
From a Huge Fan of You Brann Dailor!
First time I saw Masto live, I didn’t know who they were before. I remember, first thing I saw when we were waiting for them to come on stage was how small his kit seemed up there. Then they started playing and it was insane lol. Was in 2008 I believe, Mayhem Fest with Dragon Force, Disturbed and Slipknot on main stage.
My favorite drummer in my favorite band
You can see he's a very real person I respect that I love old mastodon
really stands out on Hearts Alive. He's incredible on that track
GREAT drummer and musician!
Great listening to him talk ! Haha he's a friggin goof ball. Met him and got his autograph in Columbus. He was super cool
He's a very unique metal drummer. Listening to his work (Mastodon). All those ghost notes work, the very first thing that caught my attention. Very cool. I like this guy.
Great guy
AWESOME BAND
Brann is so underrated as a drummer.
What I like about Brann Dailor, is that his live sound is absolutely natural. No triggers and compressors.
Jimmy Olden he’s using triggers in this video
He can flickety flam those drums better than anyone I’ve seen
bran is a cool guy he is really possitive, the whole of mastodon are funny blokes, good drummer also.
What's with all the shots of his nuts?
Yvo19 Because if you have balls that big, you might as well make them a majority focal point.
I was thinking the exact same thing about the excessive crotch shots. Now having read this reply; I'm actually kind of upset at how acceptable of an answer it is...
Yvo19 lol camera man Gay lol
I guess it's because that's where the snare is? Either that or it's just because his balls are enormous and thus deserve to be on full display wherever possible
He's Sooo Cool !
greatest drummer in modern music
Brann Dailor is a beast
Amazing drummer, Mr. Brann Dailor. My other faves Danny Carey and Tomas Haake.
I wish I had grandparents with a drum set too
Wonderful
Come to Dubai again...please!
A big hand for Tama for making Brann sound awesome
Chingón baterista y vocalista
Iam REALLY into all the Great BIG Classic Bands , like Led Zep , Ac Dc , Deep Purple (MarkIV with Blackmore ,,of course)
Pink Floyd (which i seen 3 Times in my Life) Van Halen , Metallica , etc.
And >>>>MASTODON
gotta love Brann's sense of humor XD
His drumming was great on the TITD "In the Eyes of God" '99 LP
2%. My man.
andrewt248 ahh green eyes
Brann seems really nice
hear you bro
He sounds like a nice person
At 5:50, the first time I've seen Brann's hi-hats open. Are there any videos of Brann using the pedal to open and close the hi-hats while playing them in any of Mastodon's songs?
How could you possibly "thumbs down" this video? weirdos.
i was there
Jeff Loomis is my fav guitarist (as a drummer)
Brann, if I ever have a kid one day. I am naming him after you.
i was waiting for him to make a joke the whole time and i was pleasantly surprised at the end
The Randy Rhoads drumkit is like a polka dot one, right?
I dont play the drums but if I did id be Brann Dailor!
No Ghost Ride?
Montrose! Slade!
Brannimal.
Next week live @013 \m/ \m/ !!!
Normally I think people who have shirts that show like wolves prowling or howling at the moon are perennially douchey but for whatever reason his shirt actually looks cool. I think it might be the like, moon thing in the background or like the "orb" or whatever it is, it almost makes it seem like it belongs on a Boston cover or something.
bahaha 7:38 this guy is hilarious
Humpty Jackalope and he says it with a straight face 😐
Great drummer, great dude. I saw Mastodon many many times in their beginnings, opening for other bands, and boy did they rocked. Blew everyone they were supporting off the stage. I kinda lost track of what they were doing after crack the Skye as I didn't really cared bout that record, but I'm glad to see they only have gotten bigger. Perhaps it's time to revisit the material I am not familiar with.
Go listen to Emperor of Sand(the latest record), it really is a great album.
When your leg wants to be drumming.
Randy Rhoads tribute kit is the SHIT!
what?
LOL I always thought this was Troy and the Bassist was Brann
But he recorded the new album with a DW kit :(
Studio is always a different feel than jam spaces and touring. Studio you're looking less for functional and more for something emotive; something to get a specific state of mind across; a specific sound.
Yeah That sucks. They are endorsed. How the brand dont have a kit that fits well even in Studio?
My baby
“ You know what I mean “
What's he doing at guitar centre
He wondered up to the attic and started playing drums.
Would this have happened if he had a phone as a kid?
Maybe, my nephew is 3 years old and loves phone, but always want to "play" the guitar
Its funny cos in Once More 'Round The Sun Album He used A DW Collector Series Kit
how do you know that bro?
Christian Ramirez It's in the making of the album videos.
He used Tama on The Hunter and it sounded great. I'm sure he used the DW because it was the studio kit and he didn't feel like taking his to Nashville to record. They both sound good so it doesn't really matter
I thought I saw that too. Could be that he uses Tama for touring over seas.
1000 likes and 7 dislikes. This is when you say "Mastodon rules!!!"
Metal Head still
Check out his old tech death band called Lethargy
Oh man, thanks for the info
Brann is the shit. So thankful to Metallica for bringing them to Costa Rica in their death magnetic tour
Dig it:3
Fucking drummer!!!!
a little part of me dies every time I see a drummer playing wothout ear protection D:
A little part of them dies, too.
Akiles Baeza only wussies wear hearing protection lol
Whole milk for me, but I get where you're coming from...
if you only new fams every thing
4:21 haha
Really GC, you couldn't go 10 seconds into this video without displaying GC employee talent?? Nice snare drum mic'ing there boys!
1:35 how people describe drums after I play😂
That 2% tho...
stoned
I can see it now: greatest drummer of our era and he asks for some sticks. the guy behind the counter STILL scoffs and rolls his eyes annoyed.
No your first instrument was lead singer in a Christian rock band. Your first gig was opening for the band holy Saint. Don't deny it because I workd for the band holy Saint and I remember you guys very well. This is Laura Bequtte's brother Nathan. Had to break your balls brother...Keep ripping :)
LOVED Holy Saint ! Still have that tape.
I think I was at that gig, was it at Bethel Church?
that and 2% milk
I've never heard anyone pronounce "Tama" like that.
