These home studios are becoming studio homes
Exactly lol
Spot on!
What a classy dude. I love how he still has that childlike excitement about music and seems very proud to talk about his career. Amazing studio.
Also the music he has contributed to is mind blowing. Pure genius talent. Legendary.
@@stillavenue His Raydio albums are legendary. Some real hidden gems in those records.
I have the Rock On album
released from Arista label,1979.
Ray is a legend, most people have no idea what he’s accomplished other than ghostbusters , amazing studio
Ray Parker ...a DISCO-FUNK guitar player ..the best and only REAL dance music EVER!
Ray is a Class Act. Nice to see he's enjoying the fruits of his labor!
I love Ray Parker JR for saying, i never retire from music. It breaks my heart when any artist says i'm retiring. Ray Parker JR is the food and flame of inspiration.Thank you God for letting me live in the time of Ray Parker JR.I'm 63, the memories of all that music.I feel rich. Thanks again Ray.
The fact that all this highest tech studio equipment is soundproof to the outside neighbors is the kill shot for awesomeness.
That 1956 Fender Stratocaster Ray Parker Jr. Has is very beautiful looking.
so pleased for Mr Parker, living the American dream and being grateful for it. What a blessing he is.
Ray gave my uncle Wah Wah Watson his Gibson L5 that he played on his whole career! Pa Pa Was A Rolling Stone, Car Wash, all of Maxwell’s first cd!! RIP to Melvin Ragin aka Wah Wah Watson!!!!!
Your Unc was one of the Funk Brothers man, that's awesome! Rest In Peace to him.
@@djlucasd He sho was!! They was boys all of the way until the end!!
Papa was a Rolling Stone & Car Wash ~ two tunes with the finest of intros you’ll ever hear. I was raised on Motown - RIP to your uncle Melvin.
P E A C E : )
@@FUNKINETIK Facts! Illest intros ever!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
@@djcoolcliff the name Norman Whitfield just popped into my head, I knew he produced Rose Royce Car Wash and worked with the Temps. Just had to check that he produced Papa Was a Rolling Stone too - glad to know my memory is working well.

"jimi hendrix feel" i love it!
I came here for a studio tour , not a history lesson, but WOW! Ray Parker Jr. almost made me cry with all he's accomplished, along with his style and good taste.
I am only disappointed that I had to come home from truck driving to see the new content!! I'm subscribed and bell'd...but no notifications of new content.. Gonna have to complain to YT.. with that said..LOVE THE STUDIOS that you've been fortunate to show us!!
Ray is bar none a musical genius.
Pure class. He is the American dream and I will buy “make America HIGH again”. F YEAH!!!
That's how I imagine PARADISE !!! ...
Man, Ray is such a classy guy. I hope I’m half as cool as he is by the time I’m his age.
That is a dream studio...That man has been involved in so many hit records.. a living legend!!
Please do an episodewith the legendary Leon sylvers, that would be epic for sure !!!
a man after my own heart....once you get famous have your own recording studio....love your music always have...
Man, if I ever win the big lottery. Definitely Will hire Ray Parker, to build me that studio.
Holy cow that's a dream sequence right there.....
Nice to see that I’m not the only one pushing a snapback hat to its limits Andrew
I like that Ray has many windows that provide natural lighting, and yet created a soundproof marvel.
What an awesome home studio, wow. Very specific to his exacting standards, very impressive. The floor to ceiling glass wall is stunning, all the thought and attention to the mic stands, video cameras, and so on is borderline OCD. I'm a technology geek as well, and my head was spinning from it all. So freaking cool. And then the contrast with the simplicity of his desk, with the racks and 500 series (and small monitor), shows his focus is, at it's always been, on making music. Mad respect for the musician, and studio designer in him.
It is fantastic to see how the 19 year old dude still shines through in every moment when he talks about music. What a nice guy and this studio is just a piece of art in itself.
Ray is the epitome of what a class act is! Truly a legend!
What a wonderful episode! Ray Parker JR what an absolute wise soul. Best thing about this episode was him plugging his sons music. ;)
Thank him for welcoming all of us into his home studio! I would look like a kid in a candy store.
The Tim Pierce interview with Ray is really great as well... Nice job on this Andrew.
This is the second awesome show I have watched. Ray Parker, Jr. made some awesome soul music during the 1970s and 1980s decades. Andrew Masters, 'you de man!
I had to wipe my drool several times. Oh to dream of a home studio like Ray's.
Dude was a stone cold killer of a guitarist
Dude is* fixed that for u :)
Is... present tense.
@@so5532 yup
He still is to this day! He just turned 68 May 2nd, just over a week before the debut of the Fender Stratocaster.
Still Is 💯💯💯💯💯
Can't believe you got to interview the legendary Ray Parker Jnr and tour his home studio. Well done for featuring him.
Ray Parker is the man, most don't know him but they have heard him.
You can see Ray is comfortable.. He's not trying to impress or Prove anything to Anybody.. Enjoy the fruits of your Labor Bro...
He played with everybody and wrote lots of hits. What a career.
The Ghost Busters 👻 theme song was a genius hit. Very catchy and always memorable.
him telling that he has to build the studio to look exactly like his house was already mind-blowing
wow...this is a cool spot...shout out to the OG Ray Parker Jr.
Much respect for one of the the most underrated Guitar Gods of all time. He is waaaaaaay more than the guy who sang Ghost Busters!! This was AWESOME to see. Glad he's doing well and still loving his art.
I concur.
I don't really care for Ghost Busters. He was sued by Huey Lewis over that song for ripping them off. I knew him before that for being an in demand rhythm guitar player. Many successful musicians that came up in the 70s made a fortune. It's unfortunate that today it's much more difficult for that to happen.
Here I am feeling pretty good with my guitar and amp set up in a cramped corner of my bedroom adorned by dirty clothes, messed up sheets and dog hair. Glad to see this man this excited about his passion.
"Home Studio" is a bit of a stretch, but a studio that looks like a home is amazing. good stuff. lol
It’s so cool to see an old Skool cat that handled his fortunes the right way!!!
This is a fantastic interview with an amazingly humble and still inspired musical giant...thank you for doing this Andrew
Ray used to record all the instruments in his albums when he was young, in the early 80s. He said that way he saved time and money during the production. They are re-broadcasting all those old "Casey Kasem American Top 40" where Casey tell this stories about the celebrities of 70s & 80s. Ray Parker Jr. was and still is, a great celebrity from those golden years!
Ray Parker Jr is a favorite of mine. He is a good singer but I never knew he was an engineer. Thanks Andrew for sharing Ray with us!!
I was telling my son about Ray Parker Jr. kudos.
Everybody thinks oh yea Ghostbusters theme but doesnt realize all the steps before that.........#legend
Oh man! Easily one of my favourite episodes, I’m so grateful Ray Parker Jr made time to chat and show us his personal studio 🙌🏾
Ray Parker jr. Has a hit song that will last forever. Ghostbusters song is still super popular with kids.
make america high again. this man's still got it.
This guy here……..Uberly Underrated and Slept on……
Brought an extra smile to my face when Ray mentioned Jack & Jill, I got that single when I was a kid and the next one Raydio released ‘Is This a Love Thing’ a brilliant tune. Such a rich varied musical history, he got the finest tutors when he was young - Motown, HDH, Marvin & Stevie - amazing.

Never clicked on a video so fast!
I have been a fan of Ray since I was a teen. Parker's recordings of him and Raydio were the cleanest and influenced my audio production. I cannot believe that he had no training in audio engineering and that Prince cut his first album in his studio.
I have so much respect for this man ever since I was in my 20s and I'm 54 now. I feel he's an unsung great!
That’s a REAL studio
This video should be called "Epic interview with Ray Parker Jr.!!!" 🏆
That was great, wish it was longer, I could sit and listen to Ray for ages..
I'm fascinated just listening to what Ray Parker Jr. has done in his career not even knowing he had a hand in so many records.
I Saw the Stevie Wonder / Stones Tour in St Louis, Back in the Day. Stevie " OWNED " the Show !! !!! !! !!! !! !!! Big Surprise That Ray Parker Jr Was W/ Stevie on That Tour ! ! ! ! ! ! ! LOVE RAY ! ! ! ! ! ! I Am Happy & Proud to Have Witnessed Ray Performing, as Well as Stevie. AWESOMENESS !! ( STONES WHO ?? ) THANKS, A.M.
The mic stand situation is a fucking game changer. Must have.
Damn that ghostbusters theme song is really paying off. Dude is a legend man.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!
I never knew all this about Ray Parker Jr. what an amazing career, and all this stuff. Wow.
I'm STILL finding out stuff Ray did!! I love his pride in the studio and his confidence. We musicians would be lucky to age so gracefully
It’s as if it’s all just ‘Child Play’ for Ray 🤗…. All this exquisite stuff … with a twist of Ray Parker Jr humor 🤗🙏🏽💥🤗
I learned a lot about someone I grew up liking. He's definitely a legend.
This is an amazing creative space! I was in high school when I first heard Ray Parker's music (with Raydio) and it is nice to see and hear him still creating music. Much Respect! "....you can't change that!"
I always loved this guy! Top talent, top human being. What a humble legend who's not above opening up and sharing his passion. Kudos, RPJr.!
Its amazing how humble and down to earth this living legend is after a great successful career and how passionate he still is about his work. Long life to the king.
Man, Ray’s studio is out of sight! So nice and inspiring to hear from a living legend. He’s touched a lot of lives through his work and music. Great man!!!
RAY COULD BE A STAND UP COMEDIAN 🤗😝🤗
This is so inspiring. It's very great to hear that Ray Parker Jr. Is living the American Dream. Radio is still one of my favorite groups. Salute to Ray Parker Jr. Thanks so much for touching my life. Producers like yourself and George Clinton inspired me to do what I do today. Awesome studio!!!
Love ray. He did a great interview with Time Pierce. Highly recommend!
F...ing OUTSTANDING ANDREW!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I always watch your studio tour videos for inspiration but this one gave me goose bumps... My face lit up when I saw the caption "Ray Parker JR (studio tour)" ...and I learned so much in this one. You outdid yourself.. Keep working your way through the musical giants.. Please! Man... Pure dopeness!!!
Wonderful to see Ray again.
Crapper with guitar lid was awesome!
What a fantastic studio with so much history and art. Ray Parker Jr. is part of our national heritage.
I appreciate this video and look forward to watching his documentary. God bless.
One of the greats! Man what a studio! Built from the ground up on a home lot and registered as an actual studio.. that's is nuts! Makes my little desk studio setup look like a kids toy.
It’s what you do with what you’ve got, sir. 💙🙏🏾
but he built 5 before. steps!
The PROFESSOR OF GROOVE 🙏🏾✊🏾🙏🏾🤗
I had no idea he was a guitarist. I thought he was a one hit wonder with the ghostbusters song. What an incredibly nice and professional gentleman he is. Total respect Mr. Parker Jr.!! And hats off to that incredible home studio and guitar collection
He's played for everyone Ray is a legend!
I spy with my little eye a Theory Board !
The insulting "e-muisca" in the front really set the mood. Thank you for that ambush.
“I love music. Music is my life. There’s no retirement from music. There’s no start and there’s no end. You just keep going til you can’t play anymore.” Dang - that's brilliant there.
If you just take individual pieces of Ray's career, it would be great. But the sheer volume of work in total is so astounding.
The great guitar legend Ray Parker, Jr.!!! Love the toilet seat!!!!! LOL!!! That's an amazing guitar collection!!! Of course, as a bassist, I'm liking the Sting Ray and Bongo!!! Ray has an incredible studio!!! He really knows his stuff! WOW!!! I can't wait to see the documentary! Saying that Ray had an amazing career is an understatement!
lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve you Ray Parker JR.. A lot of us miss you on the stage.
Stay strong stay safe and enjoy your family and good memories on stage.
Steff in Alaska
I love Ray!
I was LUCKY enough to get to watch him in the role of producer for a soul singer back in 1987, and it was amazing.
I always figured it must have been what watching Prince was like - Ray was playing EVERYTHING, and he was FAST!
After watching him I considered quitting because he was LIGHT YEARS ahead of me.
.. thankfully I was able to shake it off and find some confidence again.
However good you think Ray is… trust me, he’s BETTER.
👍😎👍
Jack & Jill is such a nostalgic song. I was in grade school when that came out.
Genius at work from top to bottom hands on with all his work.. He’s historical from beginning to now just book of knowledge.. The sounds was solid he put out some great music.. keep going Ray. I want to hear the new record..LB May 2022
Ray Parker Jr is a legend. He must really know his business
The concept of the US “home studio” amazed me every time
That's a helluva story of tha history of that painting. Thanks bruh.
Ray that's a studio that was ahead of its time very nice. wow
AMAZING HOME STUDIO Ray Parker JR
Ray Parker Jr. is the man!
RPJ seems very down to earth. Legend.
This is probably one of my favorites
