MOST of Sabs tracks were written by Geezer. Ozzie interpreted them perfectly. With mad Bill on the sticks and Tony Riffmeister Iommi, they couldn’t lose.
I remember in the early 80s being the only 1st grader asking for black sabbath when my teacher asked us what kind of music did we want to hear on her radio. My family was steeped in rock hard rock and country. My dad listened to pretty much anything and I grew up hearing Judas priest, black sabbath, boston,Janis joplin, Willie nelson, led zepplin, parliament funkadelic, acdc, pink floyd,Beatles white album, rush, yardbirds,Chicago in my home because we owned the records. We had hendrix, van halen, blue oyster cult, allman brothers, lynerd skynerd, Molly hatchet and many others on 8 track. So as kids were learning that the wheels on the bus go round and round I was learning that I'm travel in down the road and I'm flirtin with disaster or that fairies wear boots, or that all in all there's just another brick in the wall lol.
@@TT3X Hehe. I remember our teachers face going deadpan and starting to blush then calmly saying 'Ok..Now we put on another record!' A friend of mine brought WASP F**k Like A Beast :)
1COMIXMAN you reminded me of when my son started kindergarten! I, like you, listened to everything you listed there, and played it regularly - so my kids, naturally, heard all this when they were babies, toddlers & school-age to now. I have a video of my middle boy, singing 'I AM IRON MAN' when he was 3 or 4. So when he started school (and a Catholic school to boot), there was a questionnaire from his teacher, asking numerous questions - one being favourite music/bands - so imagine our raised eyebrows at putting "Black Sabbath, Muse, Rush...etc." on that list. He's 15 now, and we still laugh about that!!
I'm with you man I was 6 years old and 1974 and my brother is playing this for me in the Attic where he lived he was a hippie scared the s*** out of me LOL love me some Sabbath before they were cool I get what you're saying man
One of their best albums, and this came out in 71 and STILL sounds as fresh as it did when it was released. So goddam heavy and the subject matter is so relevant to this day. Tony Iommi, that's all that needs to be said.
I believe that the older I get, the better these songs sound to me. IDK if it's that today's music is that bad or that I've just learned to appreciate them more. Because there's plenty of new stuff coming out that I absolutely love. Maybe it's a little of both with more emphasis on appreciation in my aged self! 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼
Tony Iommi wrote just about all their songs and bass player Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics to almost all their songs. Butler (and not Ozzy) most likely wrote the lyrics to INTO THE VOID.
Geezer did - in fact when this song was being demoed, Ozzy looked at Geezer and asked him if he was trying to kill him, because there were so many words to fit into Ozzy's melody line. Usually any sci-fi lyrics in early Sabbath would be Geezer's, as he is a huge sci-fi fan.
1971 prophetic words written by Geezer. And he doesn't write about war, the band writes about the darker side of the world but yet they always return to love, peace, and happiness
I think pound-for-pound this is the perfect Black Sabbath song. It has everything that makes that band what they were and what their legacy continues to endure. Groovy, heavy, a little bit progressive, somewhat doom-laden but hopeful lyrics. Just a simply brilliant song
The thing I love about Sabbath songs most is the way they have different parts and tempos and they pieced them together seamlessly. Great reaction and here’s to Geezer and Bill, the best rhythm section ever IMO.
I dare to say that this is one of the most iconic Tony Iommi riffs and one of the legendary Black Sabbath songs, one of my favorites. Greetings Trash Talkers! A great video, as always. 🤝🏻
Sabbath came out of Birmingham England, an industrial city that was deeply entrenched in WW II, bombings and the like. Given their age, the band members were directly influenced by that, hence the war themes. As well, Geezer Butler penned most of the lyrics...there are exceptions along the way and collaborations, but Geezer was the main lyricist.
Great video! BTW, the lyrics were penned by Geezer Butler. The war between good and evil mskes sense because, lyrically, Master of Reality is a Christian album.
I'm a black sabbath fan and I've never heard of this song. This song is FIRE. 😮 I may have a new favorite song. Ozzy has BARS. 🙌 I am gunna be listening to this song a lot now.
My favorite Sabbath album and song and Geezer never gets enough love for the stunning bass lines, yes I know Tony is great, just ask him, he will tell you... lol, but the others in the band are amazing too.
Hi from Australia boys... you've reacted to 2 of my top 3 Sabbath songs. 1st one being Black Sabbath (the song) 2nd being this masterpiece... please next do Planet Caravan...slightly different vibe but you won't be disappointed
Also, this groove is a vibe...and Ozzys with Sabbath is the best.I saw them in a reunion at Ozzfest one year, they were freaking FANTASTIC!!! Best concert!!😄
You must check out Black Sabbath - Dirty Women Live 1978 The Never Say Die Tour. You get to see Tony up close shredding a face melting solo, Ozzy giving it hard. It is EPIC.
National Acrobat is my favorite off Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Iommi's sickest riff and Butler's lyrics are crazy. The prince of darkness sign was the ✌️sign. Dio came up with the 🤘
@@johngillespie3409 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is great album with these great classic hits. Some old school Sabbath fan once said that he didn´t like it becouse it was too commersial and they started to rise from underground band to known world wide. Maybe so, but damn those songs kick ass 😁.
Great song, but Ozzy didn’t write it he wrote very little. Geezer Butler wrote the majority of Sabbaths songs during the Ozzy years. Check out the band Kyuss they do an excellent cover of this song
Yes ! More Sabbath ! It doesn’t matter how you feel about Dio as headman. You cant really say anything bad about a legend like RJD. Tonys nick name is the riff master.
1973 I was 9 when my friend and I were riding our bikes behind a K-Mart in El Toro CA when I found 2 8-track cassettes by a big metal dumpster, 'Paranoid' and 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath', their 2nd and fifth albums. That's when I got into Sabbath and soon got albums 1, 3 and 4.
Damn this song is so classic. This was the second song I ever heard from them as a kid. Paranoid of course was the first. Great reaction! I’m requesting another Volbeat song- Cheapside Sloggers. Thanks guys!!!
The very best metal album ever recorded. Bow down to the masters of metal. My parents forbid me to listen to this devil music until I begged them to just listen to the lyrics. Sabbath songs are about good not bad if you really listen. Some songs my folks did not care for, but they let me listen to them once I proved my point.
