Music really does heal. Sometimes, it's very hard to listen to a song, like Solitude, because it can force us to grieve, whether we want to or not. Black Sabbath is truly magical. Thank you for your reactions.
The beautiful thing about Black Sabbath is their versatility and their albums all sound different from one another. Can't wait til you review Volume 4.
@dedcowbowee I totally agree, those 3 albums you mentioned are my favorite and I rate them 1,1and1 because I can't decide which one is my favorite and which I would put in my 1,2 and 3 category. I have racked my brain over and over and finally gave up and put each album at 1,1 and1.
Into the Void, is in the conversation for heaviest tune and riff they ever did. The production on this album is as dense as a black hole. Sabbath Rules! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
@@vicprovost2561 Yup - also I can tell you that I am now 60 years old so it's not like I'm some young kid who will have a change of mind. There will be two Black Sabbath songs played at my funeral & both of them off the Master Of Reality album; Into The Void & After Forever. Been a Black Sabbath fan since I was 14 years old.
@@rosiemason-rk4cm I can still remember buying the first album not long after it came out, 6 of us crammed into his bedroom and had their lives changed forever.
@@vicprovost2561 Sadly I was only 6 years old when the first album came out. It did, however, have a big impact on me when I did eventually get to hear it about 8 years after its release. Still the greatest debut album of all time imo.
Your first one or two albums can be great but too have your first six albums great is insane but that's what Black Sabbath did with the great Sabotage their sixth.
I love when you two get into Sabbath mode 🤘 Mike, Nasty is the best one word description for Into The Void 😎 Dev, I've seen people play air guitar and air drums for decades now. This was the first time I witnessed air drinking water from a wilderness river. Nice 🤙 You guys keep up the good work! 👍
Great reaction!! This was the first Sabbath album proper that I heard! Started with Sold Our Soul compilation. This album was complete stoner metal - heavy, trippy - just awesome!! My whole view of Sabbath was redefined after hearing Solitude - a real head space track - the flute by Iommi and Ozzy's 'beautiful' voice - perfection, and so, SO unexpected. It was not long after that I heard all of Paranoid, so after Planet Caravan - realized that Sabbath was capable of such a diversity of sound! Cheers!
That poster picture was taken at Black Park, about a mile down the road from me. It borders Pinewood Film Studios and has featured in countless movies, including a host of Hammer Horror movies.
Long time since I've heard MOR all the way thru...forgot how beautiful Solitude was...I'll have to go back and listen to your reaction to the 1st album, as that and this are my 2 fave Sabbath records...always a fun reaction time with U2 👍🔥🔥🔥🌋🌋🌋
Lord of This World is something else guys! Wow this is such a heavy song, and it tells it from the perspective of the Demiurge the Devil himself: Lord of This World!!!!!
Into the Void speaks of man leaving Earth for 'greener pastures' yet the music tells a different story as it would seem everywhere we go it starts all over again and we jump from place to place before resigning ourselves to the fact this is our nature yet we must survive and will continue these actions till judgement day.
Christians have been saying Judgement Day will be here next Tuesday for 2000 years. 2000 years from now, Christians will still be saying Judgement Day will be here next Tuesday.
Think it's harder to appreciate MoR having listened to first two albums in quick succession. It is a bit samey. Things really go off the map with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and my personal fav Sabotage.
I’m too inebriated to comment due to celebrating Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0 in the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. Sorry Sir and Madam. I’ll make it up to you. Where’s my welding mask and torch ffs??

This album is so good. Musically, lyrically, the production and mix, everything is so good.

This, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Sabotage are their peak in my opinion. it was a hell of a string for them. ✌✌

Thats what i always loved about Sabbath, one song that was completely different from all the rest...🤘🤘

Hallucinogenic river water and palatial fence welding... I love this reaction! 😂
Amazing album, very influential and among the first to use drop tunings for that devastating heavy sound.
Did you guys notice how on Into the Void, Geezer would play along with Tony's guitar riffs and also play along with the drums, who else does that?
Deep cut Bro
"Into The Void" is one of the songs that will be played at my funeral.
Awesome man, had to smile when I saw that comment!

Bill Ward on Solitude vocals.
Thats incorrect it was Ozzy, Bill only sang on It's Alright and Swinging the Chain
Since no one bothered to answer, he was hitting the good ole cowbell on lord of this world......
I love when you two get into Sabbath mode 🤘

Ha ha. I am hurt that you didn't mention my air-welding afterwards. 🤪
@@MusicforBusyPeople lol, my bad
I hadn't heard the Soundgarden cover. Makes me realise how exceptionally tight Sabbath were.
Drummer Bil Ward struggled with "into the Void". But in the end he offcause nailed it. The heviest jazz drummer of all time

It's my favorite song by Black Sabbath.
The Ozzy years of Black Sabbath are legendary. There are no bad songs here, just epic masterpieces.
black sabbath ac/dc judas priest dio rammstein van halen tool led zeppelin metallica iron maiden motor head these rock bands will never be replaced
UFO, MSG & The Scorpions. The Schenker Brothers will never be forgotten.

When listening to Lord of This World imagine you are dancing with the devil in a ballroom to a minuet while he whispers the lyrics into your ear.
That's exactly right. Excellent catch.
My favorite bs album its a fcking master piece
Solitude has heavy Planet Caravan vibes. Cool.
Played this as opening track on tour 13
Time for Volume 4 guys!
Saw Black Sabbath at Cal Jam 1 in 1974. Great live, better studio. They were over-shadowed by Deep Purple that day, but then again, it is Deep Purple.
The first four Sabbath albums are God's gift to mankind and should be enshrined in the Smithsonian forever.
BIll is hitting a cymbal stand ...
I love this album Solitude use to be what woke me up for years till my CD alarm clock broke Nice way to wake up

I had forgotten how much Solitude reminded me of Planet Caravan.
Great Job, Peeps!
I didn't remember Geezer's bass being so high in the mix on Lord of this World.
Great song though.

The intro to Into the Void is sometimes known as a separate song - Death Mask.
Yes! And the intro to Lord of this World is called Step Up.
After Forever - Some say it is the very first Christian rock song. I hope you react to it.

That's a great idea
Mike, where did you get that scull t shirt? I need one! Awesome album review.

Christian rock. Should be played on TBS lol

@@MusicforBusyPeoplewell he's in good enough condition to spell "inebriated" correctly
Total christian song.
