Jack's summary was spot-on because the DR8 is such a great RC! Although his driving to finish in last place left much to be desired, lol. Great video. Something often overlooked is just how incredibly bright the DR8's LED lights are - you can be using your RC for longer now the days are getting dark earlier as we approach winter. Those CustomRCupgrades parts sure look nice. Being a mere 'softcore' basher I've not upgraded mine to the same extent. The only major weak point is the rear lower suspension mount so I got the FTX aluminium upgrade part. The extended wheel hubs (cheap as chips off AliExpress) are a must-have for improved handling and stability on a greater range of surfaces. Leaving the spare wheel on can help protect the somewhat weak rear shock mount but I bought the FTX aluminium one anyway. Oh, and a trusty 25kg servo upgrade from Bangood livens up the steering.
Yes i want happy about Jacks coming in last 😂 but he had fun and thats what counts. You are right the LED lights are very bright and its great they come with the lights, adds to the over all finish of the car as well. The FTX parts are all very good and for the lower end basher will be more than enough, although i did find that as the front FTX chassis brace only uses one screw to mount to the top plate that broke very easily as it pulled out the side of the stock top plate, the extra material and being 7075 on the CRCU would avoid that happening. Actually i think we dd change the servo over to the good old 25kg Banggood one as well
