- A few people doubted the claims that this Cheap 1/8 6s RC Buggy will do 60mph Stock out the box... well, in this video we shall see, and will I prove you wrong?
Ok, 'Cheap RC Car'.... it's Cheap compared to a lot fo the other 6s 1/8 RC's in it's Class, almost half the price of some! And Faster than some out the box as well! Nearly twice the speed of the Traxxas HOSS, and half the price!

57 is much closer to 60 than their 45 - 50 guesses.

That did well for a cold day. I try to warm up batteries for an hour or so indoors or in a pocket in this cold weather to just help a little. Not surprised you got that an would anticipate breaking 60 in warmer weather. Impressed with how fast mine is.

I love my DR8 , it looks good , absolutely bombproof when it comes to bashing and it's quiiiiiiiiick !!! The only thing I want to upgrade is the servo as it's the weak link , serviceable in use but it could be better.

Pretty good looking car! Along with the LiPo not being “cold friendly” all the lube is requiring more juice to move.

Hi Tomley its a rebuild of the Reely Raptor 6s which is selled in Germany, and its cheeper then the DR8 with 399€. For max speed they prefer a 100c Lipo

Considering the low temp conditions effect on lipo's, road surface, tyre hardness, oil thicknesses. Not to mention the brick of a spare wheel sticking up on the car causing extra drag, i think 57mph actual speed on a claimed 60 mph car is pretty good in my book. I'd like to see a run with the spare wheel removed, then a separate run again with say a 14t pinion fitted. I think you would be well over the 60mph. Who knows how large a pinion you could go to as the motor seems to have plenty of power pushing this heavy car, obviously this type of platform has it limitations as its far from a speed type car. A great value for money car i think.
In the summer I’ll do a run with and without the wheel, and then up the gears a little 👍
I must admit I didn’t think it would be that close as I stated in one of my vids the DR8 also sold as the Really Raptor came with a 14t pinion to achieve the claimed 60mph. Standard is 12t. Cool vid👍🏻

@@TomleyRC I wonder how fast it goes on the 14t pinion then as it made mine seem so much faster but haven’t had a chance to speed test it due to bad weather. The motor seems to cope fine off road too with very little increase in temperature. It’s a beast.
Got to figure the more runs, the diff oil warms up and it'll be a mph or 2 faster also.
@Tomley id do a cold weather run like you did then when the weather warms up give it a warm weather test
My mate has one of these and it's a great all rounder. where is this video made? I've got a Traxxas XO-1 and it's very difficult to find a safe place to let it go nuts. At the moment I use the top floor of a multi story car park, but there are lamp p[osts and I know at some point it will end up buried into one. Thanks for a great video

£355 pound is an amazing price for this car, in 2 or 3 months when a few have been damaged and parts are more available this will be my new car, gonna have to sell some of my drones and maybe my hpi hot bodies but i will get it. Great vid as always mate and you won the call out lol, you take criticism very well even when there is no point for the criticism in the first place, recently another youtuber said if people give him negative comments he will block them, some take this hobby way to seriously lol😂 stay safe budd, the people want a bash test vid for this DR8.(please)

good questions, idk about the first, but the second one I think I can answer, because the values are generally smaller, mAh is used to more accurately refer to the capacity, its metric anyways, easy to remove some zeros :D

5000mAh is bigger than 5Ah durr 😋 Maybe not but it sounds better to those who don't know any better in the same way that broadband is measured in Mb/s instead of MB/s.

It’s such a nice RC, and in reality it’s not cheap, but is if you compare it to some of the other 6s 1/8 scales out there 👍
@@TomleyRCYep agreed on that! . From your experience though I need a bit of advice. I want something more 10 or 12 scale to bash around on a BMX track, Traxxas,Arrma etc are out of my league but have you reviewed something that may fit the bill and doesn't cost me a kidney 🤣.

I’ve reviewed the Bison V3... similar. But they are a 1/10 Truggy. and probably half the weight of this, so not really comparable.

Have you seen the FS racing atom 6S? Looks to be the same car with two 3S lipos and charger included but I’m pretty new to the hobby and cautious about buying a less know brand.

@@TomleyRC hi mate do u have a link to the upgraded motor u used on ur jjrc g60 6x6 army truck and can u recommend a better gear box so I dont have a high speed and low speed just one speed I'm combining the chassis with a huin1573 dump truck and would thick automotive car grease its like jelly fot the diffs to lockem up better 🙏

All different types. But mainly CNHL
Warmer tyres it might see 58mph . Cold rubber won't balloon as much, even after all those passes I bet they barely got any temp difference in them from that recently thawed out tarmac.

question- how do you balance a 3s 2200 shorty when last cell is a lot higher than the first two. I can't find any help from my local gang...
Try running it though a storage discharge,then balance charge it and see if it makes a difference.
@@semperatis Tried that. Not sure what cut off for discharge. the third cell discharges very slowly and charges fast.

Common sense tells me the tires are harder in the winter which would mean less ballooning compared to the heat. When it's hot out you would think the tires would be softer and balloon more. That's just my thoughts😊
Some people are just miserable human beings. Don't listen to the haters. Only focus on the people who appreciate you. I love my DR8. It's loads of fun with paddle tires on the beach.

Nice Reely Raptor....😉 Adding more mAh and more C than the engine and ESC can digest doesn’t make sense as one can see from your speed test example. So funny to see that people are increasing mAh and C rates into nirvana with their electronics making any use of those, at least not speed wise....
Yes, it all depends on the Motor/ESC. Although you will always get more run time/performance with better batteries

@@Ramon-bd1ii Not recommended on 3s, some have got away with 3s for short runs for a while. Others have blown the esc simply plugging in & switching the car on with 3s.
The model is perfect and fast. Of course the very high top speeds are cool , but this model is already veeeery fast i can't complain. If you make it faster you loose power for bashing, but because rc models are made for fun, you can make your rc as you like, it's not necessary to follow the rules.

I would not say it is cheap really, you can get a JLB J 3speed for under 400.00 and it does 60mph on 4s, but cool car, the clone is the FS Racing FS33675P.
The JLB is a really good Truggy. But it’s 1/10, half the weight of this and has a mostly plastic chassis, and not 6s capable. So you can’t compare it to this.

On a normal summer day this will easily do 60mph, the battery don't work as well in the cold you see

Let´s face it - this is an off road basher, so whether it does 57 or 60 mph is hardly important. That said, I was dying for you to whip off that spare wheel and see whether doing that would improve the drag coefficient enough to win you the 3 mph you needed to silence the haters and retain your honour as a man of his word. Still, I´m happy to wait till summer for that.
Yes... it’s got more than enough power for what it needs! I’m not sure if removing the spare would make a difference.... I mean I’m no expert, but at these speeds I’m not sure. Worth a try next time though! Only take a few seconds to remove it 😎
@@TomleyRC I´d try without removing it first, as you might get people whinging that "it´s not stock now", but remove it if you get, say, 59mph. If you can show the car doing 60 with it still fitted, so much the better.
