Here in Australia you would be penalised heavily by the court for impersonating a police vehicle. In the Philippines it it accepted as normal behaviour.

Wla sa knila ang marunong magbaklas nyn at kapag nasira nila yan sila magbabayad. Dapat mabago nila ung batas na kapag ganyan maimpound para dun sa impounding area tanggalin ng mga mekaniko nila.

will say this again. if you want to deter violators on the bus lane. Increase the penalty. better yet introduce Jail time.

Its better to show of force and media cameras. So they handed their licenses easily, if there is only 1 or 2 enforcers, those drivers can bully them

Since it's impossible to quickly differentiate private and government vehicle. Unmarked government vehicle shouldn't be allowed inside the bus lane.

99% of those drivers have smartphones and social media. I'm sure at one point they've seen a video such as this and still chose to drive on it. so it's basically a combination of ignorance, arrogance and stupidity. kamote for short.

You should include those people who are in the government using the bus lane. I wanna know if they're going to let them pass or not. Law says the EDSA Busway is restricted to authorized city buses as well as emergency vehicles such as ambulances, firetrucks, and responders to emergencies. Then I saw the news a few days ago stating that gov. vehicles are allowed. It's contradicting.

Are all government vehicles allowed to use the bus lane? I know marked vehicles (ex. Police) are allowed. How about other goverment vehicles?

Bus lane violation tickets has a 72 hrs grace period to reclaim your license. So within that 72 hrs. a vehicle who was apprehended yesterday will not be issued another ticket if it was caught again the next day because 72 hrs hasn't expired yet?
isn't there a law that impersonating government vehicles or impersonating a law enforcer by having a red and blue flashing light on the vehicle? It seems that the consequences by abusing this type of illegal offense does not dither people at all to keep doing it again and again. Penalties and consequences for this should be a lot heavier...

There's a lot of case that if a motorcycle rider has blinkers, they ask them to remove on the spot. Even smaller cars, I've seen them ask to remove it on the spot.

Penalty is tooo loow! Needs to be increased to a minimum of 5 thousand for bikes and 20 thousand for 4 wheels.
Hopefully that's something that will be considered during the drafting of the dotr department order - relating to the EDSA bus lane.
Especially for repeat violators, it should be increased.

@GadgetAddict it should be across the board, if we're seeing the same violations like illegal parking, not wearing crash helmets etc. It only means people do not fear the fines and penalties. Said it before and will say it again, what this country needs is an iron fist when it comes to traffic management.

3:45 you’re correct… that is a very stupid suggestion. That’s probably from a motorcycle rider. Man they’ve pretty much done everything… in the bus lane, moving on side walks, counterflow, no shoes, no helmet, 3-4 person in the motorcycle, no plates, counter flow on village gates and even on toll gates, crossing on pedestrian lane to make a U-turn, you name it, they’ve done it.
Do it also during early morning, accidents happens during those period bcoz of KAMOTE riders using bus lane! Good Job IACT and please be consistent!

Hi, can you verify if we can use the license in the LTMS portal as a valid license in case we don't have the driver's license at the time of apprehension. I do have the license its just I prefer showing them the one in my phone rather than the paper license LTO provided me. Thanks!
Yes, you can present that as proof but you have to use the QR code. The enforcer will scan that code and will be able to verify your license. Screenshots of the license are not accepted.
The problem is I don’t think all enforcers have scanners 😂 so it will be wise for you to bring your card with you still.
I've yet to see any enforcer accept the e-license shown in LTMS.
For the exact reason you said, enforcers not being equipped with a device to verify what's being shown to them.
There's already a proof-of-concept browser plugin for your phone, which can modify what LTMS will display - including showing a fake license, if you wanted.
So it's vital that enforcers who choose to accept the e-license, are aware and equipped for the verification that they're meant to do.
I've asked LTO about this and they just told me to if I log in onto the LTMS portal during the time of apprehension and show it to the enforcers, then it should be ok. but still, I haven't encountered any info about this being something communicated to everyone. Im just clarifying this because I got the foldable paper license from LTO from my renewal. I prefer not having this big piece of paper inside of my wallet

You could get lucky, but I wouldn't rely on it - especially not in these early stages.
Bigyan po natin ng CHANCE ang mga RIDERS / DRIVERS na NAHULI sa BUS LANE na MAPATUNAYAN nilang BUS ang minamaneho nila PARA FAIR sa kanila. :)
OR baka naman ilan sa kanila hindi pa rin alam kung ano ang salitang BUS marami sa kasing marunong mag drive pero walang formal lesson sa driving, may bulag nga na nakakuha ng driver's license.

Dapat lakihan multa at hindi sineseryoso, sa ibang bansa nasa Php 150,000 ang multa once dumaan ka sa bus lane. Sa pinas Php 1,000 lang kaya ayos lang mahuli tsaka may certain points na once mag-limit ka tangal lisensya mo.
I hope that they apprehend those kamotes in the Cubao and Shaw underpass. They are still using it for their so called express lane. Which is very irritating
private vehicles with those red/blue flashers should be impounded and fined. they are not authorized to have them. those lights should be removed before being released from impounding area.

Higher penalty will stop them all to violate. I was in Doha, Qatar for 2years. Beating the red light is at almost 70,000 PHP fine.
Fines should be higher up to 5000 pesos for driving in bus lane. Maybe that will get drivers attention.

Ang lakas ng tama, walang plate number at side mirrors sa bus lane pa dumaan. Kung makakadaan siguro sa riles ng MRT dadaan siya!
Rules are rules. Even if the cars with white plate that are registered to the government with no markings are not allowed in the bus lane.
Why not confiscate the blinkers?
They can buy cars and pay its registration and insurance. They can just use the bus way as an expressway and treat the penalty as toll fee. It is high time to increase the penalty and fine for these motorists
