The exclusive EDSA busway has proven to be an extremely effective solution for commuters.
But if the bus lane isn't strictly enforced, it would only be a matter of time before it's full of cars and motorcycles, causing the busway project to fail. - Розваги
If someone knowingly tries to evade that should be a felony, as it is in the U.S. They should be arrested, car towed, hefty fine and suspension of license, no excuse for that type of behavior. To give the offender a ticket, a mere ticket is ridiculous. Unless the law begins to have some teeth, nobody will follow the rules.

I dont know if the Traffic Enforcers knows the Law. Simple thinking Revoke the License and Ban that in EDSA , finish no questions.
@@marilakay4902 many countries that don't have such problems have camera enforcement in bus lanes, which saves valuable man hours for traffic enforcement. When the Philippines tried this, people took it to the high court and got it overturned. Do you think the average pinoy did this? Or the entitled and wealthy....
Cancel the license of those who run away. Period.
Never mind cancel the license . All vehicles - MC , car , SUV , taxi etc - automatic seizure and CRUSHED on second offence . No appeals , no excuses , no exceptions !! . Also no need to place enforcers all the way along EDSA just totally random patrols .

Salute to the thick-faced lady driving the white fortuner who tried to run away from the law enforcer and when she was finally stopped she had the guts to be arrogant to even dmand the enforcer to speed up the ticket issuance because of a meeting. These are rhe kinds of people who are shameless

The operators of Angkas, Grab and other providers should also be held responsible for their drivers. Or at the least the operators should penalize their drivers who are caught violating traffic rules. These drivers have passengers and are responsible for their safety.
These operators mostly dont care as long as they cash in. Dapat nga from the get go meron driving academy muna lalo itong mga motorcycle riders. Mas nakaka takot kasabay ang mga ito sa kalsada!!!
Grab and Angkas should also suspend their drivers.
Those who run away should automatically have their license taken away and suspended. They can reapply in the future for a new one but has to go through seminar first. That's how it should be. The problem here in the Philippines is that we have so many laws, but government agencies are very lazy in implementing it.
We had sticker policy but people cried and senators intervened, ayus binawi. Tulot uloy na sana un. Politicians only care about votes and themselves.

@@TheKamotechunkssad, thats why i'm studying Law and aiming to run for senator, i'll propose a law against road traffic violators, no more offenses its going to be a straight revocation of license plus a police record so they can't buy a vehicle from dealerships anymore.

They're lucky. Traffic enforcers here in the PH are too kind. Those who ran away should've been arrested.

There should be a solid yellow or white line to separate the bus lane from commuter lanes. In addition, there should also have letter markings.

If you're in a hurry, you know better not to violate traffic rules because it risks not just your time but also your car getting damaged, not to mention your life. Just call whomever you are meeting with ( may it be for a job interview, business deal, or an emergency ) and just tell them you'll be late. Surely they would understand as they wouldn't want you to endanger your life and the life of others
My school mates and friends I grew up with in Canada are here visiting me in QC/NCR.
They mentioned people are rude, lack discipline and are not considerate of their environment.

Suggestion to the MMDA
In South Korea, the bus lane is at the opposite side as ours (counter flow traffic), thus:
1. The bus doors are at the side of the center island which is more safe for passengers;
2. It would eliminate the stubborn motorists who illegally would use the bus lanes, since they would now be head on to upcoming buses.
I think it’s worth a second look by the MMDA.
I believe they put the bus lane on the left so it will be accessible to MRT drop offs. Bus lanes were positioned on the right before the pandemic.

The problem w/ bus lane running on opposite side is that EDSA has so many spots where transition lanes are on the inner lane. Those spots are where regular vehicles need to use the bus lane to get into the transition flyovers. ex: EDSA/West Ave, EDSA/Ortigas, etc

before the bus lane, people are complaining its hard to ride a bus and it causes traffic, so some f them bought cars or bikes, to ease their commute. now with the bus lane, those people who bought cars and motorbikes still complain, use the bs lane because of traffic... geez if you wan to be in the bus lane, dish out your vehicle and commute...its much cheaper...
Please file a case, violation, and impound their vehicles.

we should recognize this hard working law enforcers thank you, for those who run it should be impounded and have their license suspended. our enforcers should be assisted by the pnp. keep safe to our enforcers.
I think, too, if there was a "Traffic Court" like we have in the US, things would be different. When you gotta sit in court, wait for your case to be called, and then stand before a judge who can arbitrarily fine you for whatever he/she thinks is reasonable and punitive, instead of some token fee, that'll change your life. I remember getting find for over 1KUS and this was back in the 70's, so it was a lot of money--then. Think about it, you get stopped for "bus lane violation" and some judge says, "That'll be 60K" that would make you looking into your wallet and pockets in concern.

Suspending the NCAP has more cons than pros. The NCAP is necessary for both safety and efficiency. Those who filed a TRO against the NCAP were clouded by sentiments of habitual violators.
The problem with that is that not everyone was issued with the LTO license plate. People could just put fake/improvised plates

Well there are SO many things to be changed starting with increase the fines to very high. Jail time for ones trying to run, multiple tickets for same offense plus many more

Place a big sign board along the bus lane saying…”PENALTY FOR UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES ENTERING THE BUS LANE - REVOCATION OF DRIVER’S LICENSE!” Impose that penalty and lets see if there’ll be violators.

These drivers that drive off from the enforces should be charged with endangerment and have their licences suspended immediately, then have to attend court. The ones that are continually being caught using the bus lanes should have points added to their licences and fines increased, once no more points can be added then their license is suspended for 6 months.

There should be a demerit points applied. Accumulate enough points for example 12 gets you a suspension. 2 deterrents points and fine.
Violators should get 3 tickets…1, for bus lane violation,2,driving away from enforcers,3,for speeding…

maybe if they issued enforcers with a handle with plate of spikes on it, to put under wheels of cars MCs stopped to stop the from running, it may stop some people trying to flee or a least not get far before a flat tyre forces them to?
I always say that the crazy drivers must be late to work or a flight, ironically if you go to the Gasiano or any store, ATM, or Restaurant everyone moves at half pace. Something snaps in a Filipinos mind the minute they get behind the wheel of Vehicle or motorcycle.

Bus lane is the best practice in the world so we need to support it.
I saw this post on a certain group on FB about having/installing 'BUS Traps' on certain intervals on the bus lane to be a deterrent for private vehicles.
These will be designed in a way where only BUSSES that are wide enough will be able to pass through the 'traps'.
This is being implemented on some EU countries, as the post says, although I am a bit concerned since bus lanes are also being used by emergency vehicles and these vehicles are not as wide as busses although if you put those bus traps on certain intervals, I guess those emergency vehicles can still work around it (but it would be inefficient for them to change lanes multiple times)
The difficulty is that they have to allow access for police car, ambulances, fire trucks, other law enforcement service vehicles etc etc.
And then some are national, local or even private or volunteer, so it gets tricky.

I tried searching for an email address of MMDA where I can send my complaint to, but can’t find any. Would you know if the agency has an email for complaints about street clearing, etc?

For better segragation of the bus lane from the regular lanes, the paint separating the bus lane from the regular lanes should be a SOLID white line, not a broken white line, and the bus lane should have "bus lane" painted on the bus lane itself every 50 to 100 meters.
Alot of motorcycle taxi use the bus lane and are very reckless on the road.
