Blue Velvet is a cover! There’s a video for ride that has a monologue at the beginning and end. A promotional video for Blue Velvet that is pretty much a long H&M commercial when they partnered together for a campaign. And a video for Tropico that includes 3 songs
Gods and Monsters is a song about living in LA and being famous and also consequences that come with it (men with power taking advantage of young celebrities, drugs, sex, alcohol etc.) "I was an angel living in the garden of evil" describes is perfectly. It's such a dark song... just thinking about all the singers that went through that stuff..
The music videos for this EP are amazing,, so Ride has its own 10 minute music video which is amazing and has the most incredible spoken word intros/outros EVER, Burning Desire also has a video, then for the other songs on Paradise, there's a short film called 'Tropico' that is basically a bunch of videos that tie it all together. Before moving onto Ultraviolence, Lana then released Young and Beautiful for The Great Gatsby and it became one of her biggest hits, so it would be super cool if you could react to that song as well before moving on to UV. Thank u sm for ur reactions, theyre super introspective and enjoyable and we all really appreciate them
This EP is mainly about her past boyfriend who died and she’s trying to cope with it, through sex and partying. Many of the songs have references to heaven/paradise, as he is there and she wishes she was there as well with him. Bel Air as a place is thought of by Lana as somewhere beautiful and glamorous and heavenly, and is used somewhat as a placeholder for Heaven, but also is literal and shows her trying to leave behind her past lover and move to LA. Yayo is pretty close to what you said - though it seems happy and she’s talking about getting married and having fun with him but the “Hello heaven,” verse shows that this is all just dreaming about what she could’ve had. It’s a really devastating album.
Just as Blue Velvet is a cover, you will come to find that she repeatedly do covers she loves on most of her albums when you continue down the path of her discography. I absolutely love and adore her, and she gives all of her covers a personal and intriguing touch
lana gets more into her family in later albums! She has a very bad relationship with her mother, and now a very close one with her father (she recently featured on his own album) but there are a few hints in her music that growing up she had a rocky relationship with him too. Shes very close with her siblings and her grandma who i believe may have passed but she used to live with her at some points
Lana has 1 younger sister, Caroline (or Chuck), and 1 younger brother, Charlie. She has a good relationship with both her siblings and her father, Rob Grant (who, fun fact, released his debut album called "Lost At Sea" this year alongside 2 collaborations with Lana. He jokes a lot about being a nepo daddy). However, she has a bad relationship with her mother, Patricia. Even if Lana mentions her parents in some songs, it's not until recent albums she's been more personal about her family.
If you listen carefully to the beginning of Gods and Monsters, before she starts singing, she says LA LA LA….LA LA LA…. so she’s calling Los Angeles/Hollywood the land of gods (celebrities, movie producers, record execs, titans of industry, etc) and monsters (people who will take advantage of you, abuse you, steal from you, etc) and sometimes the people from one group are the same as the people from the other.
The Blue Velvet song was actually and originally singed by Bobby Vinton, which I say that nothing beats the original but this version of Lana Del Rey is very good, now since you do movie reactions too,i would suggest the movie Blue Velvet(1986) which is based on this song.
its not a music video but a live performance of ride. in my opinion its one of her best live performances, it feels so raw and personal. the video is titled "Lana Del Rey- Ride (live on Langs de Leeuw HD)"
I love your reaction, it's good to see that you're honest. Btw, the Paradise Era has a lot of videos, the essentials are Ride and Tropico (a 27 minute short film with the songs Gods & Monster, Body Electric and Bel Air). I think that those two videos are great to know the exact feeling she's putting into the album. Others videos are Burning Desire and Blue Velvet (it's a commercial, still a music video tho, so it's not on her channel, but it's on youtube).
she has a shortfilm called tropico that contains the songs body body electroc gods and monsters and bel air. it gives a lot of context to the songs and is just a beautiful piece lf art
Your reaction to the bridge of Ride was gold! 💙 seeing someone experience lana for the first time as a long time fan is the best thing ever. It never gets old
I watched every single lana reaction video and I can easily say you're my favorite, I'm hyped for ur next lana reaction❤️ one track I'm really looking forward to is "heroin", that song hurts the most along with blue velvet for me
Yup girl. Harvey is the one you're thinking about. She doesn't sing this song anymore and you'll probably find more about this in her song "Fucked my way up to the top"
I think it's a shame that POS spoiled Cola for her as it's a great song. I'm not sure there's any direct evidence that the other song you mention has anything to do with him though as it doesn't mention him. It's a sarcastic song. And if there is any specific gossip about it, I probably don't want to know.
there is a short film called tropico which includes body electric, gods & monsters and bel air . Also there's ride and burning desire mv . Blue velvet was in a H&M commercial , it was based on the movie blue velvet
AAAAA I LOVE UUU I think your theory about california is absolutely true. she even has a poem about LA and she talks about LA as a person anyway Yayo is a street name for cocaine. She said she wrote that song when her then boyfriend came home with a giant dragon tattoo on his back (hence the first lyrics). unfortunately she also said that he passed away and most likely due to a heroine overdose (on Lust for Life she has a song called Heroin where she sings “Bad beginning to my new year” because he passed away on New Year’s Eve of 2011)
gods and monsters has been my favorite song for a while, and your way with words and reaction of the sad lyrics covered by loud instrumentals has changed me😌😌
Yayo is one of my favorite Lana songs, and just songs in general of all time. The vocals & the lyrics are giving haunting nightmare while the production is giving lullaby It’s so unique and so beautiful “I like the snake on your tattoo I like the ivy and the ink blue” “You have to take me right now, from this dark trailer park life now” Are two of my favorites lines from her ever! The delivery is insane. Her ability to effortlessly make music is insane.
okay im like halfway through yayo so im not sure if you realise half of this lol but yayo is slang for cocaine, she also delivers the song like this to indicate intoxication. She released an ep called aka lizzy grant before her official first album under 'lana del rey', and yayo was actually one of these songs so i find it very interesting that she decided to release it again! Yayo and gods and monsters are definitely my favourites from this ep
Blue Velvet is a 1963 cover from Bobby Vinton, Lana does love to include a good cover on her albums. Gods & Monsters is one of my favorite songs by her. the "Harvey" reference in COLA really does make it a bit cringe, but I try not to think about it cause it's a fun song. The original YAYO is from her album that was released and then apparently pulled before Born To Die came out, she ended up re-recording it for Paradise.
i dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but i have been a huge lana stan since the beginning, and as she was putting out the paradise edition she really was framing this as her last music project because she's 'sung everything that she needs to sing' so this was so emotional when it came out but then she obviously kept going
Loved your reaction to Yayo so much!! I feel like many reactions overlook it as "boring" but I am glad you enjoyed it and appreciated it. "Hello heaven, you are a tunnel lined with yellow lights on a dark night" is one of my favorite Lana lines ever. ❤

Im so excited for ultraviolence and honeymoon !! They are her Best albums!
Harvey's in the sky with diamonds is a reference to a Beatles song lyric "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" which was a hidden messege for LSD :D
The echo on her vocals in yayo continues throughout the next 3 albums and pops up in the rest from time to time.
Your reaction to blue velvet made me emotional too lmfaooooo. Def my fav song of hers
Others videos are Burning Desire and Blue Velvet (it's a commercial, still a music video tho, so it's not on her channel, but it's on youtube).
watching your lana reactions have become part of my daily routines ❤
she has a shortfilm called tropico that contains the songs body body electroc gods and monsters and bel air. it gives a lot of context to the songs and is just a beautiful piece lf art
Bel Air is my favorite Lana song of all time. Is so angelic and scary at the same time, a piece of art
“Im so cool with this being a piano album”… you are going to love lana albums more and more as you listen lol
thank youuuu I've been waiting for this video!!!
So excited to see you react to Ultraviolence, NFR and her newer albums!! Definitely listen in order :)
Your reaction to the bridge of Ride was gold! 💙 seeing someone experience lana for the first time as a long time fan is the best thing ever. It never gets old
im loving this so much, cant wait for uv and honeymoon, my favvv
I’ve never clicked anything so fast IN MY LIFE! I’m so ready
I watched every single lana reaction video and I can easily say you're my favorite, I'm hyped for ur next lana reaction❤️ one track I'm really looking forward to is "heroin", that song hurts the most along with blue velvet for me
Heroin is a very shocking song of hers but it's not for everyone, i hope you'll like it
A&w also, by far her most relatable song for me
I think you'll love nfr
Yup girl. Harvey is the one you're thinking about. She doesn't sing this song anymore and you'll probably find more about this in her song "Fucked my way up to the top"
And this was way before the revelations came out
I think it's a shame that POS spoiled Cola for her as it's a great song. I'm not sure there's any direct evidence that the other song you mention has anything to do with him though as it doesn't mention him. It's a sarcastic song. And if there is any specific gossip about it, I probably don't want to know.
Paradise is a metaphor of Los Angeles ❤
The ride and tropico music video will change your life. It changed my way of thinking
been waiting for you to upload!!!
you have no idea how much i look forward to these videos!!! thank u
there is a short film called tropico which includes body electric, gods & monsters and bel air . Also there's ride and burning desire mv . Blue velvet was in a H&M commercial , it was based on the movie blue velvet
AAAAA I LOVE UUU
I think your theory about california is absolutely true. she even has a poem about LA and she talks about LA as a person
anyway Yayo is a street name for cocaine. She said she wrote that song when her then boyfriend came home with a giant dragon tattoo on his back (hence the first lyrics). unfortunately she also said that he passed away and most likely due to a heroine overdose (on Lust for Life she has a song called Heroin where she sings “Bad beginning to my new year” because he passed away on New Year’s Eve of 2011)
gods and monsters has been my favorite song for a while, and your way with words and reaction of the sad lyrics covered by loud instrumentals has changed me😌😌
I can't help it "I am f*cking crazy, but I am free" 😭
I love so much watching you talk about the songs, so calm, I really love it and appreciate it
Yayo is one of my favorite Lana songs, and just songs in general of all time.
The vocals & the lyrics are giving haunting nightmare while the production is giving lullaby
It’s so unique and so beautiful
“I like the snake on your tattoo
I like the ivy and the ink blue”
“You have to take me right now, from this dark trailer park life now”
Are two of my favorites lines from her ever! The delivery is insane. Her ability to effortlessly make music is insane.
The music videos for this EP are ride and tropico 🙏🏻
Yes we are here! Loving your reactions about Lana.
okay im like halfway through yayo so im not sure if you realise half of this lol but yayo is slang for cocaine, she also delivers the song like this to indicate intoxication.
Listen to Honeymoon U WILL LOVE IT! So orchestral and classic - a very beautiful arrangement
lana studied metaphysics and body electric has a lot of references about energy and mind
i dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but i have been a huge lana stan since the beginning, and as she was putting out the paradise edition she really was framing this as her last music project because she's 'sung everything that she needs to sing' so this was so emotional when it came out but then she obviously kept going
Thank you for video! It’s so refreshing when someone new intelligent and with taste in music explores Lana’s World. ❤
Loved your reaction to Yayo so much!! I feel like many reactions overlook it as "boring" but I am glad you enjoyed it and appreciated it. "Hello heaven, you are a tunnel lined with yellow lights on a dark night" is one of my favorite Lana lines ever. ❤
I highly recommend listening to her cover of "Once Upon A Dream" she did for the Maleficent soundtrack!
Yayo feels like a song about being stuck in life, and trying to cope and escape in any way possible-thru fantasy, thru love, thru drugs
There’s times when you speak that you sound exactly like Lana lol! Love it, keep these reactions coming.
i’m a little bit late watching it but the fact u claimed cola and you were wearing a coca cola shirt. stars aligned
My favorite Lana project 🧡
she my favourite artist since 2012 i love her so much
i'm always so happy to see people reacting to Lana
..."innocence lost" may also be playing on Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost"... She also references Nietzsche "God is dead".
I have never been so excited to watch a video 😆
