It’s hilarious how the dealer ship that works on these cars and produces them and what not has literally almost no idea about them at all…. It’s ridiculous… I just got the same code p0500. Had to take out the valve body of the tranny and replace the vehicle speed sensor. And no this is not the same thing as the “wheel speed sensor” that everyone thinks.. instead of having some idiot at dealership tell my mom it’s a completely different problem without doing any further inspection at all I’m gonna save her tranny and save her from them trying to just say it’s a bad tranny and try to sell her a new one plus o Reilly and Autozone want almost $300 for the sensor.. I’m getting one online for $100 bucks then total comes out even less than the part costs after I get new tranny gasket, ATF, tranny filter and all that..
van making grinding sound and the put in any gear doesn't turn. When move to park mostly from reverse or other gear it make a grinding sound. The van won't move.
I've got a 98 4 cylinder camry that has P0500 that says vehicle speed sensor A. Idk what the A is. I replaced the speed sensor and it didn't fix the problem. The car won't go into reverse and neither reverse or nuetral it won't roll backward or forward like it's still in park. Can't figure it out. There's no other codes.
what was the problem ,did you change the speed sensor inside the transmission or you change the complete transmission please let me know i have the same problem thanks
florence automotive I replace the whole transmission, but in this case you need to do diagnostic and make sure the part you are changing is fixing your problem I show how To do diagnostic and you need to have advance scanner
My 2007 Camry le v6 had 100K mileage have similar issue. My mechanic told me the code : p0500 speed sensor. Does fixing the speed sensor fix the problem?? Thanks

First and foremost, THANKS for the info in the video! I have a 2011 Camry. I had the same code come up P0500. I tried and tried to find the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) in this car and all I could find were some videos that were too far back in the years so they were no help. I knew from looking at other videos that the VSS and the ABS module are electronically connected. I found the ABS module at a junk yard here in Phoenix for $100.00. I did not buy it. So at this point, I VERY CAREFULLY took off the ABS module and SOFTLY air cleaned it hoping that it would do something. IT DID! it clear the codes. I took the car out for a 1/2 hour run and no codes came back. So far so good. I will report if this fix doesn't work long term. You might want to try this but be VERY CAREFUL with the air oressure and the way you handle the ABS module for it connects several pins internally in the bottom portion. You can do more damage than good. Good Luck!
@@fredyolaya3489 hi there, I have 2011 Toyota Camry v4 2.5l and have a same code p0500. Is your vehicle the same model as mine ? Did your problem ever come back ? Where was the abs module located ? I’d appreciate your reply
Try cleaning the ABS sensor at each wheel and resetting the code with a scanner. The ABS sensors are related to the VSS sensor.

If there is a multi sensors failure code. Most likely it is the fusiable link.
