In my house, the router is in my brother's room, and he kicks me out when I'm in there, so I can't use the Ethernet cable. Maybe situations like mine are reasons why people don't have access to the Ethernet, due to the router being in a room where a person can't just move their PC or gaming console.

Things usually include: -Baby Monitors -Microwaves, like he already said in the video -AM/FM radios -Building construction, i.e. Brick walls vs. Drywall vs. Steel walls. -Having 10-15 different devices on the same network. Something else I remember from my college days was that the Wi-Fi router should be in a centralized area of the building, not in the bedroom on the other side of the house. If you HAVE to put it on the other side of the house, you may need to invest in a Wi-Fi Range Extender.
One very, very important issue was not listed in this video. Wireless network connection works in half-duplex, which means it have to stop sending data to receive it and vice versa. This is why wireless connection is bad for Multiplayer games.

as a former comcast tech...i suggest making a your gaming station where you can be hardlined straight into the modem. think about it long and hard and let the tech know where u want it and why. remember its not always possible to put an outlet where u want it but 90% of the time it is. do that or make your gaming station near an existing outlet. and know which cable company you go with..this is important because u may put you computer near a phone jack then call comcast who uses coax

If you turn your router off too often, your isp may activate something called 'interleaved' mode, which SLOWS down your connection to stabalise it. Only reboot your router when you have to, not all the time.
I haven't got any of these problems for ten years. I live in the UK and the WiFi here is like the best thing ever. Im sorry for whoever faces these problems
#1- Reboot your router. I just turn off the router before going to sleep every night (unless i've to download something big). Next day, my router feels fresh and energetic. No need for yoga. Just a good sleep.
open up your specific ports desigmated for consoles and turn Qos off on router settings, this will have your connection favor faster routes over less trafficed routes but there is trade off depending on your location....

On the subject of EoP adapters... be careful what you buy. A lot of +100 Mb/s EoPs actually have only have a 100Mb/s ethernet port. Found out after I upgraded to 250Mb/s fiber. Out of 7 that I own, only 2 have a 1000Mb/s ethernet port. :( Plus there is a limit on the number of plugs you can use concurrently depending on the brand and your home grid will also affect the speed (some areas I can only get 10Mb/s). WiFi repeaters sometime are a better option.
Rebooting ur modem (router is built in most likely) is the only "hack" that is even relevant now, and quite important at maintaining a stable connection. Even when using the preferred Ethernet cable.

I just turn off the router before going to sleep every night (unless i've to download something big). Next day, my router feels fresh and energetic. No need for yoga. Just a good sleep.

i tried that sideways antenna and it made my ping go from 150 to like 30 TY so much
my router/modem slows down after about 6 days to I have to reboot ever 6 or 7 days.
Try unplugging the internet cable and touch the cable to remove the static.

Not all of us can do that. I do not have a line running to my computer nor am I allowed to install one. So I must use WiFi connections.

If you have a router plugged into your Gaming PC or your console you can get better internet connection, and if the wireless internet goes down, at least you'll still have the internet hard wired to whatever device.

My router reboot sometimes at morning making also the updates it needs from the company i am,it is good to do this manually every once in a while.Also this mod with the tinfoils is pretty interesting,i will try it whn i have the chance thanks gameranx dudes.

On the subject of EoP adapters... be careful what you buy. A lot of +100 Mb/s EoPs actually have only have a 100Mb/s ethernet port.
Found out after I upgraded to 250Mb/s fiber. Out of 7 that I own, only 2 have a 1000Mb/s ethernet port. :(
Plus there is a limit on the number of plugs you can use concurrently depending on the brand and your home grid will also affect the speed (some areas I can only get 10Mb/s). WiFi repeaters sometime are a better option.

Rebooting ur modem (router is built in most likely) is the only "hack" that is even relevant now, and quite important at maintaining a stable connection. Even when using the preferred Ethernet cable.

I have a tip for faster gaming,if possible always connect your gaming machine directly to An Ethernet cable and avoid wireless,unless if it's a controller
How much does an ethernet cable actually help? I have friends who lag just about as bad as me but use an Ethernet cable instead of wireless.
