- This video shows the creation of the Warwick custom shop instrument for Metallica's Robert Trujillo including all the steps from the selection of the woods up to the laser-engraving of the serial number.
The custom Shop on our website: www.warwick.de/modules/custom_...
That laser etching is badass
Sure, it's listed at the end of the video - "Tom Thumb" by Andy C. Saxton. Thanks for watching!
With respect, I have to add that the selection of the woods for neck and body, the glueing and planing is all done by hand. After the CNC shaping, there's about 2 hours of hand sanding at least to get a perfectly smooth surface for the lacquering process. The enamel needs to be applied and sanded by hand. The whole rusty finish requires a very concentrated handwork with attention to lots of details and the final setup can only be done by hand. Sorry if you got another impression from the video.
Wow, what a great finish. Nice bass
On the Warwick website, there is a menu bar with a tab called "custom shop". when you click on that, a submenu opens an then you can click on "inquiries". Hope, this helps, thanks for watching!
that engraving with the laser is crazy!! nice video guys!
when i first heard him use this bass live I thought wow that's an amazing sounding bass and then a couple weeks later I watched a video comparing famous bass brands and I heard a warwick bass I don't know which one it is but also at the time I had never heard of Warwick before so yea I looked up some youtube videos and found that one of my favourite bassists is partnered with Warwick so yea they are my new favourite bass brand
All the songs are listed at the end of the video. It's "The Opposable", "Harlequin" and "Tom Thumb". Thanks for watching!
Beautiful bass, excellent job
Since this is a custom designed instrument, it will only be available through our custom shop. You can design your own model with your own choices for wood, hardware, electronics etc and choose a Rusty Finish or you go with the Robert Trujillo Signature model with the additional option of our Rusty Finish. You can find all the information on our website warwick.de. The link to the custom shop is in the description of the video. Thanks for watching!
*drool* How you make the rusty effect is so cool!
The laquer is Mixed with Iron dust, after its hardened you can let is Rust instantly with an acid, after that its Just normal laquer Prozess, ive done some of those effects , its Not difficult but you need a very wide nozzle for the spraygun to be able to distribute the Metal through it
You are right, Warwick created that bass for him. Stay tuned, there soon will be a video faeturing Jeroen Paul Thesseling and his bass. Thanks for watching!
Absulatelly Luv Warwick Bass's ,just a fantastic instrument especially if your thing is Jazz or Fusion,, wish I could afford one
I used to hate this finish but, damn that bass looks awesome
this is beautiful
Masterpiece!
Thanks, man! glad you like it!
just beautiful
sweet pick guard, & it's nice that a real rust patina was used, but there doesn't seem to be a finish coating.
I know...I figured they would have anodized it or something....
Fuckin kickass machine for a really fucking humble rockstar. his son is also awesome
My dream bass
Andy's music. very beautiful
Que baixo lindo, alguém sabe que produto eles jogam em cima da tinta cinza?
Since it's real rust on a solid metal surface it feels like a rusty metal surface, just a bit softer since ist's sanded and sealed.
rusted hardware is sick , and having a matching headstock without a finished neck is awesome, paintjob is kind of "metal" but i guess its appropriate.
What is the first song after the intro
om awesome bass
I like this pickward. Where can I buy one like this?
I cannot find anyone to work on my $$ Corvette. Any suggestions.
Thanks, we're already at it.
wow cool!! no one bass is alike ..
Name of the music used anyone?
it is him. I can't think off of the top of my head which ones besides the second one, which is Harlequin
Name of the song, please.
Que valor tiene ?
i like how Andy Saxton's music is in this
Nah I picked up on it too a tad sad they cut out the pnut part
Awesome
dont worry about this fool. He obviously has never played a warwick and doesnt understand what a great bass should sound and feel like. Warwick is at the front lines of great instruments and deserve some serious respect
I need to know this song
How?
What was that black stuff you put on the RT inlay?
some sort of adhesive
Cool!
At some point I gotta get me a Warwick bass!
I have a quote from New York shop. $1200 plus shipping to Germany to send off my streamer stage II to get "rusted". Still contemplating.
Well, Fodera, Pedulla, Paul Lairat, Mayones, Ritter, F-Bass, Frudura, Kristall, Spector and other brands come to mind :D
MASSIVE SOLO AT 3:06
we really need some clips of these basses, and the Devin Townsend guitars you guys made, PLEASE. for fucks sake.
Nice
What does the finish feel like? Wood or Metallic?
well it sounds like wood, but the finish is more metallica
The asking price of ~8K€, as per the pricelist, simply cannot be justified for me
Its a custom shop. These basses and guitars are usually made for someone who has already dropped a large sum of cash on the instrument. It is getting more and more difficult for guitar and bass companies to stay afloat with the decreasing amount of demand for guitars and basses. I've looked into this as a business idea before and it just doesnt seem to work anymore. Most companies nowadays are either already established and have funds to work with, or they make a set amount of instruments a year and make larger profit off of the instruments they custom make for people. Warwick seems to be doing both which is kind of interesting, but also might be vital for them to make money. Its kind of sad that demand has fallen for instruments like guitar. I'd love nothing more than to own my own guitar brand, but it doesnt seem to be a smart idea to try.
The bass is brand new and looks like it's 100 years old!
For a moment i thought that a guy was peeing on the bass
hey man! what are u doing?-meh just building a bass for robert trujillo of metallica, regular stuff you know....
Cool
The bass design is quite attractive, the rusty color and the artificially blackened hardware look interesting. but I think that the overlay of a metallic shade is superfluous there. I would remove it.
how much its cost?
+Burger Berger please take a look at the pricelist on our website: warwick.de/en/Warwick---Pricelists--Warwick-Masterbuilt.html best regards, Michael! :)
Something like that is very expensive? I don't mean this in particular, in general.
Pd: sorry form my english :/
I want one
it is
kinda tuuuuuu sick
you guys need to add more tags to all of your videos, that would help a bit!
Crazy :-o
zombie apocalypse bass
I hate my life
it's ok man. I have a cheap ass squier bass as well
Your avatar is truly glorious. Where can I find more like it? Reply with links please =)
It's a shame that this bass guitar isn't made with a 24 frets neck and is a five string bass guitar
Hi there, this is a 24 frets Bass. As for the number of strings, the Streamer Stage I is available from 4 to 6 strings version. ;)
@@FramusWarwickOfficial I have a fender quilt top 24fret five string bass with bassline pickups active I like to string my bass E.A.D.G.C and I am looking for a bass guitar that is 24frets five string with a single coil and a humbucker in the bridge position active and passive switch and sounds great clean and distortion I need the body thick and heavy duty and I like maple neck and maple fret bord and hip shot tuners I don't want a bass guitar that feels little and like it would break easily I have a ibanez gio gsr206sm six string bass guitar and I don't play it much because it doesn't feel solid
Интересно почём такие красотки
Andy C Saxton OK
Please enlighten us all with your idea of a better bass guitar than Warwick.
It's 4 string.
Is Warwick actually recruiting engineer ? Are you offering some internships possibilities ?
I would love to be part of this company, at least discovering the making of a bass in visu !
saxton, check him out
This song sounds kinda like some Andy Saxton jams
Hello good people of Warwick. Since I love your instruments I have a request to make. Can you please give me one of you're instruments for free. I would really like to have one but I don't have the money to buy one and I don't think I'll ever have so you can see my problem there. Thanks a bunch! :-D
Spector?.... matter of opinion there.....
Has anyone tried doing a laser etching Warwick branding on their skin? Lol
Come ON, you don't show the finished product! For fucks sake.
The rusty finish is sick though. Totally sick.
AWSEUM
The body looks really small.
It was a little chilly in there.
If only i had a couple thousand dollars...
Warwick base is made in Germany yes a real nice but the kind of base they made for Robert who can afford that except for people that are millionaires or corporate muckety-mucks it like collecting musical instruments but for the average musician today can't afford that kind of money
2:10 *jizz al over* i don't know you guys but that part of the warwicks for me is the most sexier..instrumentphilia? where? :p
Its better without paint..
In my opinion..
Anybody needs a kidney? I think I need money for a bass...
UsiNg gloves so you dont cause any "damage" to the bass XD XD XD
Everything was nice until The "Rusty finish".
I can 'distress' your instrument 4 extra 'authenticity' by dragging behind my car on a gravel road, burrying it in mud, & smacking it with rusty chains B 4 pissing all over it 2 blend the awesomeness & seal it in with clear coat = a mere $1,000 gets U all this + a signed certificate of unique pose factor =D No 2 quite alike! Please specify if U would also like yours dropped from a tall building.
would look better without pickgaurd
Top notch technology and quality, but damn... it turn out being a very ugly bass.
Your comment is hilarious. Though I do get where you are coming from. No, they don't 'Sucks dik'... There are countless basses out there today, I have played many.. Yet all these years later, the ONLY bass that I can identify in a track almost everytime is a Warwick, even unplugged, their woody tone is just unmistakeable. The question you should ask, is why other brands who apparently 'hand carve', charge so little? Bit suss huh? :p
Cant say Im a huge fan of that "Rusty" look.
Take a beautiful Instrument, and make it look like poop. Like it's broken and old or suttin.
Like a fenders fake relic job. Hey kids, theres nothing wrong with having a beautiful, shiny new instrument.
JMO I guess..
The rusty relic thing is getting so old
DON'T DO IT!
those tuners look fuck old
+vinayak chadha lol..of course they do because this is a "rusty" signature model.
+murilo ninj nobody wanna by a 2nd hand lookin bass
+vinayak chadha You must be mad. "Relic" instruments are much sought-after and very expensive.
+vinayak chadha correction- that finish doesnt look appealing at all
+vinayak chadha I agree, I'm not a fan of the rust and the pickguard. I quite like the relic instruments from the Fender Custom Shop, though.
Sorry not Sorry...the finish looks like Diarrhea...I wouldn't touch it.
