as a bassist I can only dream to be able to play bass from warwick, I like watching when the staff from warwick demonstrate the ability to produce masterpieces from warwick, thank you for making this kind of video the warwick team even though i can't afford to buy one of warwick's works because I'm just a street musician who doesn't have a lot of money to have one of Warwick's works but at least I'm presented with the best bass-making video in the world .... thank you warwick team

yeah, they are pricy here in Norway as well... I was lucky and found a used thumb NT which was in near pefect condition!

The Dolphin 4 and 5 look cool. But the 6 looks ridiculous! Make the body a bit bigger guys!
I love Warwicks guitars but man do they waste a lot of wood building them.
Not really. CNC makes it very efficient
Warwick makes beautiful instruments, but to say they are "handcrafted" isn't exactly accurate. It looks like 75% of the work is done with a cnc machine.

Alonso Barbero Asencio maybe you should pay attention. Hand carving would never produce the accuracy. The finish is always by hand. I'm afraid you do not know anything about instrument building

I understand the pros and cons of mass production but I think it’s misleading to laser etch “Handcrafted” on the back. “Hand-finished” would be more accurate.
Hmmm.... you charge a hell of a lot of money for what is mostly a CNC made instrument. Someone's getting rich.
If they were handmade, they would either cost far more or the business would not be sustainable. I could build a Dolphin as well-made as Warwick, however the cost to you would be in the order of €6-7k and your waiting time would be at least three months. Of course they are profiting. Do you expect them to be a charity or make only a little more than flipping burgers?
@@TristanJCumpole Masterbuilt Dolphins start at €5600 without any electronics or custom options and the lead time is 9-12 months. To get the bass built with Nordstrand products and a 5 piece wenge neck/maple(or some other combination) would bring the cost of the bass to €6660.
I submitted a quote request for a 7 string Dolphin with wenge neck, dtuner, Nordstrand pickups, Bartolini preamp and a 35 inch scale which is not custom for neckthrough Warwick and the total quote came to €12,636.09.
All that being said, I don't have a problem with a company aiming to make profit and I also believe that nothing is overpriced if people are willing(not forced) to pay for it of their own free will.

BTW, They can spend more money on woods or parts instead of wasting their time and money on ‘hand-carving’ bullshit.
Having build several instruments by hand, I can tell you that cutting and routing is, by far, the easy bit. Sanding and finishing, is the real hassle and that is, in fact, done by hand in this video.
