wow this is the show me and two buddies took acid at. Volta took over with such a powerful set the music totally overtook any nerves i was feeling beforehand. Such a great era of Volta, there sets were glorious during this time. Needless to say one of the more memorable nights of my life. RIP Kyle!
Even if you dislike Cedric's vocals, you have to give him credit for failing upwards. He's up there trying to balance rocking out as hard as he can while also improvising and attempting some of the highest ranged vocals. He's up there constantly rolling a dice
i somehow managed to get to the guard rails right at the center of the stage. i was in complete disbelief through out the show. also my chest was hurting for like a week after that cause of all the people pushing and shoving.
Thanks so much for posting this! Anyone has a lossless audio source? I saw them in Cologne that year and they nearly played for 3 hours! TMV will always be one of my absolute favorite bands.
Hey I went to the Cologne show aswell. The full show is on UA-cam and even features some footage I filmed from the front row. A lossless format doesn't really make sense because the audio is taken from an inherently lossy radio broadcast.
@@irregularmana6216 haha I was in the pit, but that not where i lost it... When i was in line to get in, my friends inquired where the nug was... I checked myself and i had dropped it. I was a bit intoxicated and I think I dropped it as i was getting out of the car. Oh well, to whomever found it, i hope they enjoyed it.
the only complaint i ever had about Thomas (and not necessarily him) is the tone of his drums specifically that fucking clicky kick. But dude, Jon.....cmon man........
Cedric started taking vocal lessons around 2004 which improved his voice significantly. After that his ability to hit notes was proportional to how much he moved around on stage. You can't sing that kind of music properly while also running around far away from the monitors, jumping around, dancing etc. He was very reserved on stage in 2005, which was when his singing was at its best. Check out my other upload of their show in Berlin in 2005. The 2008 tour was much more energetic and Cedric was going crazy all the time.
@@MathematicianRecords Hahaha. Yeah I do. But his voice is always really different live and he has real trouble hitting the notes. I've made tons of art, I'm a big MV fan and I've sang in bands since I was 13, I think I GET art. I'm just wondering if anyone has a clip of him hitting those highs live. I wonder the same about Chino from Deftones, he used to hit the notes, now he doesn't so much.

I had this show burnt to a CD. So glad to hear it again

hes actually most out of tune on this in his lower register
love the chances Cedric takes with his melody lines
one of the best shows i've ever seen live. Other one also being TMV, from atlanta 2005 (?) at the tabernacle.
I bought this bootleg in Mexico at a flea market back in 2010! ‘Still have it!
Killer setlist! Saw them in Richmond on Tuesday! They still got it!!!
Holy fucking shit that is a dream setlist
holy fuck the audio is great quality.

Thanks fie the upload

@@n.senada Fair enough, but YT does always apply its audio codec to the source that is being uploaded, so a slightly better version should exist?
@@lenni-hazels It does, you can download it from tmvarchive.com (it's even in FLAC though not 100% lossless for above reason)

had tickets to Salt Lake May 19th 2008....then it was cancelled for unknown reasons! they were playing the exact first 8 songs from this same set list
Thomas pridgen is on fire here
This was on Jan 30th 2008. How do I know?! (besides the video description) it was on my birthday!! and I was fucking there!!!!
i was gonna say, i swear it was in jan.
was about to mix the sound board with video clips then I saw this. Thanks you for taking the time. Awesome job
Man i was at that show. Amazing set. Thanks for taking me back in time!
Thanks for the upload.
Love it

@@alvinduran5540 ha yeah I remember I got there like an hour before the show hoping it be a short line but nah people were already there lol
Is there any ANY chance you could share the audio? I lost all the 2001-2009 bootlegs on a dead hard drive, save for a hand full of shows
It can be found on The Marble Shrine. Link in description.
N. Senada It’s back up?!? It had been down for the longest time. Thanks man!
@@Xiuhtocatl Yeah, it's not complete yet, but a preliminary version with most of the boots is already online

@@TheFBK69 Thomas was amazing but Theodore was perfect for them and Cedric has gone on record saying they regretted losing him.
Dude is a douche.
No one compares to Theodore
Having seen them both, they’re amazing. Jon Theodore had a command and presence like no other drummer I’ve witnessed live.
I'm looking for one video where Cedric hits all the notes right, has he ever done this? Is his voice damaged?

I mean.....seeing where they came from (at the drive in), I don't think being pitch perfect was ever a goal.
