I've also had this song for years, labeled as "Track 2" by a band named Ent, a Carson McWhirter project from 2000-2002. Someone sent me a bunch of demos and live tracks from them. From what I gather he played guitar or Warr guitar. They had a bassist on tracks Carson played guitar. I'm not sure this is actually them, it's the only track with Zach Hill (Ian Hill is their main drummer) and it's got a different vibe. Hope that helps someone figure it out.
