I still will never understand why they didn't make it as a Saturday Night Live attraction - even if they kept the same concept it could be a "race" through Studio 8H and have a tribute to all the classic characters that were created throughout the 50 years. It would've been so much better.
There's an ongoing joke in my friendgroup that I am the #1(and only) Race Through New York fan who literally loves it more than anything, I haven't been on the ride in over half a decade
I have no idea why, but I always feel pleasantly happy when I ride it, and I try to ride it whenever i visit. Regarding the unthemed building, I see countless tourists have no idea what on earth is in the building, or who jimmy fallon is.
A Race through New York could make an AMAZING attraction. Think how many Universal properties are set in New York! It could be a movie lover's Easter Egg Hunt. JF is the problem. Universal, when it hits, hits because its attractions are appealing to a GLOBAL audience. As Londoners, we didn't know any of the inside jokes from Jimmy Fallon's show...and our fellow "passengers" (the one and only time we experienced this attraction) seemed to feel the same.
they should put the Secret Life of Pets ride from Hollywood here because this park needs another family-friendly dark ride, and it also fits in the theme of New York because that is where the movie takes place! and they can make a separate pathway entrance for horror nights to the soundstage! they did it with Fallon they can do it for this!
I don’t mind the ride, I like the lobby area and it’s a chill simulator. Sucks that twister was replaced by something not as cool but I really don’t mind it
The last time I was on this ride, the screen abruptly went black and the ride stopped. The park crew at first said sit tight, it’ll be up and running soon. Immediately after they said that, they pretty much kicked us off and said have a good day. And my only thought was “thank God I didn’t have to sit through that ride”
I hope with the success of *Twisters* and its no doubt impending sequel will be enough to show Universal incentive to cave in this abomination. Twister and Twisters deserve to be honored as proper disaster film legends. They’re driving the genre.
Fallon is a prime example how I question this ride got green lit into being a ride, let alone closed Twister (I get it for Twister but at the same time) what a horrible trade. At least Supercharged is funny AND enjoyable Fallon is just boring, dumb and I’d have more entertainment watching paint dry than ride that turd In fact I’ll go one step further and say I’d rather get stuck on Its a small world at Disney for 4 hours than ride that hunk of junk If universal cleans up Studios, this is the ride they NEED to close first after RRR and Simpsons close to make USF better than before. Do that then work on the other screen rides. Also I don’t mind Supercharged the ride is fine I don’t get the hate for it
They could always re theme it. It’s just a massive motion simulator with a massive screen. There are two I believe. Wouldn’t be hard to turn it into just about anything.
I feel like the big problem with this ride is that if you’re not any familiar with Jimmy Fallon, then you’ll probably be confused with this ride. After watching this video, I just learned that the concept of the ride was based on a segment of his show. See what I mean?
They need to replace this attraction with Secret Life of Pets ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. It would be a great transition from Illumination Blvd and New York.
The pre-show area is very much a Tonight Show museum - even Conan O Brien's short stint as host gets a spot, and it makes sense because there was a Tonight Show With Jay Leno experience at Universal once.
While not a popular opinion, I think Universal needs to be fully redone, once Epic Opens. It is such an old, out dated park with so much wasted space and potential. I understand all the reasons why they can't shut it down for a few yrs and redo it, but they should of they want the park to survive for another 30 yrs.
This ride sounds terrible. If you want a Jimmy Fallon experience, go line up and see a free taping of his show in NYC. The fact that they recreated 30 Rock and the waiting areas in 30 Rock with all this care seems absurd. Also who are these side characters? Yikes just about any other I.P would make a better ride.
It's quite the problem with IP rides. If people are not familiar with the IP at least a little bit it can ruin an entire experience. Other IP rides set in fantasy or sci-fi people can at least have a general understanding of the world. But the tonight show is not any of that For example when I rode The Indiana Jones attraction Disneyland I hadn't seen the movies yet but still thought it was a good ride
The fact is, Jimmy Fallon just isn’t that funny. He wasn’t that funny on SNL and he’s not funny as the host of The Tonight Show. So while the racing part is kinda fun, and the movie is pretty cool visually, the ride, much like Jimmy, underdelivers.
I think it's fine, Every ride doesn't need to be a high thrills ride. Sometimes you just want something more chill. Both the ride and the queue is pretty chill. Conversely, I hate the Simpson's ride it just feels like they are banging you around in a box for no good reason and Fast and Furious is by far the worse IMO with the motion just plain bad and the video confusing and cheaply done (The scale is silly). At least this one you see some New York sights and it doesn't bang you around for seemingly no good reason.
One of the top worst rides along with fast and the furious in orlando. Imagine fast and the furious and they make a party bus ride for it. Worst decision ever.
Man please PLEASE do a video on Transformers the Ride. A ride you mentioned in this video! It’s one of my personal favorite rides (which is biased because im a huge TF fan) and it would really make my day to hear your thoughts on the ride! Specially since you worked in universal. I’d love to hear what you as an ex employe know about it
100% agree! I feel like I'm one of the few international guests who knew who Jimmy Fallon was, and even then idk all his characters- just such a boring 'ride'!! Also nice video I like your stuff, subscribed:)
Back to back garbage attractions at the Studios park. The new Minions attraction is also a miss….they really need an overhaul at Universal Studios Florida…it’s just a mess.
This attraction sucks. But for some reason my grandson likes this attraction. I think that’s because he gets to go on it by himself. Lolol Thanks for the video.
This may be a hot take.... but i feel like this ride is dragged down a bit F&F and Minions.... I actually enjoyed this more than i thought i would, but the constant screens make it feel all too similar. I feel like the depth to the story issue that you talked about, is kind of it point.... just a simulator to sit back and enjoy the sights of New York, with a ton of silliness stacked on top. Not saying it's the greatest attraction, but i feel it would be better received without all of the other screen based rides. Ultimately, this will be replaced at some point, as i feel that Studios is going to have to practically turn into a new park to compete with Islands and Epic.
This was one ride where I knew I would hate it so much, but when I finally rode it, it wasn’t so bad. However, I would not waste my time going on it again. F&F was definitely as bad as I imagined it would be lol
I actually enjoyed the Jimmy Fallon ride. The 3D works well and the motion (especially in the space scene) feels smooth and responsive. I've never had to wait in any line for that ride, so I haven't had any experience with the virtual queue. Also the room before the ride entrance is a nice place to chill with AC and Jimmy Fallon videos.
Only been there once...this was oddly my favorite of the screen rides...maybe because of low expectations and my enjoyment of the queue... And I haven't watched anything Jimmy has done since leaving Snl...
I completely disagree with this take. As someone familiar with but not really a huge fan of Jimmy Fallon and his show, I think it's a fun and light-hearted attraction. Also considering I've actually been to 30 Rock in New York, it's a great recreation, true to the real thing down to the smallest details. To each his own I guess, but there are definitely worse attractions than this IMO.
That ride is just complete horse manure, I went on it once & never again. I would rather due a 1 hour queue for Storm Force Accelatron over at Islands than ride this garbage with it being a walk on.
There are soooo many rides that need to be replaced at Universal Orlando. Jimmy Fallon is definitely at the top of the list. Rip Ride Rocket is on its last leg. The Simpsons ride sucks. Men in Black is old and needs either redone or replaced. Fast and Furious probably ties the Jimmy Fallon ride as worst in the park. Really hope that once Epic opens up, they start to gut this park and replace a bunch of these old outdated rides. I live an hr from Universal and visit the parks several times a year. At this point, I usually will only spend an hr or so in this park. Love to ride the Mummy, and the Harry Potter ride is awesome. Outside of these 2 rides, I could really care less about anything else in this park. Use to love Rip Ride Rocket, but it has become so rough that it's really not that fun anymore.
In terms of size and footprint of the ride I feel like this is much better then fast and furious. It’s a good break the way the line is laid on where you can sit down and stuff and the ride is fun enough, tbh it’s better then the Simpson’s too
One theme park enthusiast whines, the rest whine about the same thing: I don't like IPs, I don't like Jimmy Fallon, I don't like Kong. People clapped when I rode it. 🙄
I’ve literally just started to draft a script to film my first ever UA-cam video and why this ride is the best ride in the park. As a teaser… Reason 1) has the best AC/Distance from Park Entrance ratio!
I still will never understand why they didn't make it as a Saturday Night Live attraction - even if they kept the same concept it could be a "race" through Studio 8H and have a tribute to all the classic characters that were created throughout the 50 years. It would've been so much better.
Because you’d have to redo parts of it every time cast members joined and left to keep it from becoming obsolete.
There's an ongoing joke in my friendgroup that I am the #1(and only) Race Through New York fan who literally loves it more than anything, I haven't been on the ride in over half a decade
No way! Me and my buddy always act like it’s the greatest ride there too 😂
how many times have you been to Universal Studios Florida (actual Studio side, not just IoA) in the last half decade?
@aegisofhonor a good amount, we have season passes and live in florida
@@alexandercole2555 that's bc it SO totally is!!! Hashtag the nightmare fuel panda is literally my Mickey Mouse !!!!!!
(This is a joke.)
There are SOO many better rides. I would even say I enjoy the charm of Simpsons more than this.
Still better than the Fast and the Furious ride. At least stuff actually happens here.
Then you must have no morals or like boring rides
Ride in the back on Surcharged
Low rider experience
Or he has an opinion that’s different than yours. Ever think of that?
I don’t thing there is such a thing as “a huge Jimmy Fallon fan.”
THere are huge Jimmy Fallon fans, but that doesn't translate to an amusement park ride.
I have no idea why, but I always feel pleasantly happy when I ride it, and I try to ride it whenever i visit. Regarding the unthemed building, I see countless tourists have no idea what on earth is in the building, or who jimmy fallon is.

Even those of us who live here don’t understand his jokes.
@@douglasfreer 😆
They should redo it as a ride through all the closed attractions.
they should put the Secret Life of Pets ride from Hollywood here because this park needs another family-friendly dark ride, and it also fits in the theme of New York because that is where the movie takes place! and they can make a separate pathway entrance for horror nights to the soundstage! they did it with Fallon they can do it for this!

It’s a Small World catching strays out here
The question on my mind is "Have they gotten rid of it yet?"
If only it had been a Ghostbusters Race through New York.
They could always re theme it. It’s just a massive motion simulator with a massive screen. There are two I believe. Wouldn’t be hard to turn it into just about anything.
My brother & I enjoyed the pre show thoroughly more than the underwhelming “attraction”
I feel like the big problem with this ride is that if you’re not any familiar with Jimmy Fallon, then you’ll probably be confused with this ride. After watching this video, I just learned that the concept of the ride was based on a segment of his show. See what I mean?
There's tons of people who are familiar, realize what a massive douche he is and how boring this ride is just to stroke his ego
Not a Fallon fan, but it's one of my favorite attractions. Especially in the heat & rain of Florida.
They need to replace this attraction with Secret Life of Pets ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. It would be a great transition from Illumination Blvd and New York.

I'd be interested to hear what you have to say about Simpsons the Ride
I love how so many folks say that universal is going to better than Disney.
Jimmy Fallon?!?! Seriously???? Lol
It's quite the problem with IP rides.

I wish Universal would drop Fallon already. Hate him on the studio tour in Hollywood.
I never knew there was a digital queue because it’s always been a walk on when I’m there. I didn’t even know there were pre shows
At least it's not Fast and Furious Supercharged
Universal was at risk of closing around or just before 2018, mere years after Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley opened?
It happened long before 2018; it was just explained to me in 2018 when I started working there.
It was never going to close. It was just going to get sold off again
This is literally the only ride I have ever gotten motion sickness on 😂
Went on it once. It was alright. Short wait. Break from the crowds and heat. Kind of fun.
I’m going to Island of adventure for the first time this January. Do you have any tips for me?
Ask for elevators. Your feet will be dead by the end of the day if not.
I definitely recommend making your way to Velocicoaster and Hagrids first off you’re a big coaster fan, as those lines get long early on.
Go to universal studios and do rip ride Rockit 10 times instead. My record is… 12ish times in a row
Tied for the worst ride in all of Universal with Fast and the Furious. I'd rather stare at a brick wall than ride these.
when i tell people who know nothing about universal that they have a jimmy fallon ride, they’re honestly perplexed, as they should be lol
The fact is, Jimmy Fallon just isn’t that funny. He wasn’t that funny on SNL and he’s not funny as the host of The Tonight Show. So while the racing part is kinda fun, and the movie is pretty cool visually, the ride, much like Jimmy, underdelivers.
Does the ride still use a virtual queue? Every time I've gone to the park recently, it's just had a posted wait time. Same with F&F.
I dont care for fallon but i actually enjoy this rode for some reason. Premium AC and a smooth ride. It provides a lot of relief on a hot florida day.
My friend... You are so close to the right answer. It's up the midway a bit and to the left...
Digitial Queue is Universal's version of Disney World's Lighting Lanes.
This a strong second as the worst ride in the park. We all know #1.
I think it's fine, Every ride doesn't need to be a high thrills ride. Sometimes you just want something more chill. Both the ride and the queue is pretty chill. Why are the graphics so bad in fast and furious ride and the Simpson?
We’ve never watched jimmy fallon but we love it ,,agree the walkthrough can be a bit tedious,,but we’ve always walked on it
Great video, i’m from the UK and not got a clue who that Jimmy is😅 i’ve just subscribed and can’t wait to watch more
He’s just an American Late Night Television Host with the fakest laugh you’ll ever hear.

100% agree! I feel like I'm one of the few international guests who knew who Jimmy Fallon was, and even then idk all his characters- just such a boring 'ride'!! Also nice video I like your stuff, subscribed:)
I seriously think I’m the only person who likes the fast and furious ride. My family loves the jimmy fallon ride tho and I don’t
This ride does well on guest surveys. It’s fine really
Not a fan of Fallon, and when his staff revealed his bad behavior on set, that was it for me. Its difficult to like this ride.
Back to back garbage attractions at the Studios park. The new Minions attraction is also a miss….they really need an overhaul at Universal Studios Florida…it’s just a mess.

Can you please do a video on villain con in this series? Because I think villain con is one of the worst “rides” at universal
That ride is just complete horse manure, I went on it once & never again. I would rather due a 1 hour queue for Storm Force Accelatron over at Islands than ride this garbage with it being a walk on.
not to mention how terrible the tram tours are now..his narrative is boooooring.
Love the ride personally

We thought😊 it was fine. Who gives a shit really.
