donkey kong cars are gonna have slight stadium seating and are slightly tilted forward, so i think even the people in the back row will be able to see the track
I actually think it may be nice to be in the second row. Sometimes the first row can see the track too well, which could hurt the illusion on this ride.
There was once a rumor a very long time ago (early 2000s) about a Ride coming to islands of adventure that featured a huge castle and was extremely similar to the concept of monsters unchained. I believed they transformed this initial idea into Forbidden Journey once they acquired the harry potter IP. This would also explain the scariness of Forbidden Journey. I say this to say I believe that monsters unchained is a ride that is over 20 years in the making and now having experience with the brand new ride system that was used in forbidden journey, Universal will absolutely blow us away with this ride.
@@AccusedJah yes, thanks to you I found the original forum from 2003 that was titled “A 'Van Helsing' Robocoaster for Islands of Adventure?” I replied with the link initially but I think UA-cam auto deleted my comment.
My brother figured out that if you play “test drive” as soon as the music starts on hagrid’s magical creatures: motorbike adventure, it literally syncs PERFECTLY!
I went on the MarioKart ride, waited in line for hours and was so disappointed lol. I agree with what he said about people maybe expecting it to be a faster kind of ride. I mean I wish it was, it would be more immersive if it was like you physically got put onto a racetrack. Instead, it kinda felt like I was just playing mariokart in the slowest way possible while also having blurry visuals. I can just play it at home
this video made me so excited for the park!! ✨ and so nostalgic... the best part of the old dueling dragons was talking smack to the other side in the loooong ride up before the drop you were also able to actually pick which dragon you wanted, last time i went to universal, one dragon was for express, and one was for regular queue back in the day, my family ALWAYS picked the blue side 🐉💙
Dueling Dragons was unbelievable when it did duel. Was sad to see it go, but its replacement is even better imo. The fact you didn't rank Star Dust Racers at #1 is shocking. That coaster has the potential to be a top 10 coaster in the world once it opens. I'm so glad I live only an hr and half from the park. We will definitely be getting a premium tier season pass for its opening year. Drove by the park 2 weeks ago and was just blown away by the scale of this park. Not to mention all 3 hotels look unbelievable especially the one that connected to the park. The dark universe looks insane and is my most anticipated portal. As a Florida native I'm so glad Epic is coming soon. That way, when everyone is at Epic, I can hopefully enjoy Islands of Adventure with fewer crowds.
Haha. You're fooling yourself. Epic universe will attract more first time theme park goers who will go to all three parks. If anything, it will mean the entire universal resort gets even busier!! Good problem to have
Another thing that Star Dust Racers will be able to do is light up at night. It won’t be the tracks but the ride carts. But I agree that the park will bring more people and new park attendances from people who have yet to attend any kind of amusement park. I went to the Island of Adventure when Dueling Dragons was still in operation, but my brother went on it without me and now I’m regretting not trying it.
Can't wait for the Ministry of Magic ride!! It supposedly uses a similar ride vehicle to Spiderman, but with a larger vehicle and a massive lift base. Apparently the ride cars look like Tower of Terror vehicles, and will be able to move up and down about 20ft.
I’m late to this, but I agree with your #1. My mom and grandma had no idea about Harry Potter. To this day, Harry Potter lands/attractions are their favorite. I quote “the best themed areas ever.” I believe this will become their number one area/ride now
I myself am most excited for The Dark Universe section. My lady is most excited for the Ministry of Magic. We BOTH are looking forward to Super Nintendo Land.
I like what you said about the Yoshi ride: It’s nice to have a chill but also highly themed ride made for everyone! I feel like theme parks mostly tend to create chill ride experiences for small children or families, but there are so many adults who don’t want to ride roller coasters, which means lots of guests get stuck doing slow moving indoor dark rides that are geared towards kids. I hope in the future theme parks think about this further and push to have even more super fun and immersive chill rides for all ages (i.e. Navi River Journey, Soarin, Hogwarts Express, etc.) because whether you’ve got a health condition that prevents you from riding the Velocicoaster or you’re just scared, adults need variety!
I hope the ride they said is going to be the scariest ride they ever made was like the tower of terror where not only does it have very scarry animatronics and things, but the final scare is dropping a hundred feet to finish off the scare
Splash Battles are awesome. I did one called Battle Galleons at Alton Towers and I would call it a top 5 ride at the park. The sets were elaborate on that one and the interactivity makes it so much fun, so I have high hopes for Fyre Drill.
Dueling Dragons in its prime was top notch! Our lists are similar but Monsters Unchained is my number 1! I cannot wait for Epic to open! I plan on going for HHN next year and to experience Epic for the first time so I am hyped
Ranking rides and shows that you haven’t experienced a single time… like a kid saying they hate broccoli without ever trying it… yeah this makes a lot of sense.
Can’t wait for Epic Universe! Would definitely agree that Battle at the Ministry should be the first ride with potential technical difficulties, especially since this land is rumored to be months behind and it’s the most advanced ride. Hopefully it doesn’t continue the Harry Potter technical difficulties curse like Hagrid’s, Forbidden Journey or Gringotts 🤞 Great video & ranking though! 🔥
We went to Universal for the first time in 2011 (I took my daughter for her 11th bday) and we got to ride the dragons while they still dueled! Was so sad when they stopped and even sadder when they were torn down. I do love Hagrid's, but I honestly liked Dueling Dragons more.
I've been on the Bricksburg water ride and I got drenched. It was a rainy day so I thought it wouldn't matter since I was already wet but I was wrong. My pants were sopping wet. My daughter who was 4 years old, didn't like the ride. She cried a little after the bucket of water got her soaked. I really hope Fyre drill is not that bad.
Very excited for Epic Universe. My family and I plan on visiting Orlando from Maine for Halloween 2025. For the first time, we will not be going to WDW and will instead be concentrating on Universal/Epic Universe.
For me SR looks to be by far the best ride, but I think #2 will be CotW, Also SR will not be a family coaster, it just has a low height requirement, it’s a Mack Hyper
I rode Dueling Dragons like a year after it opened.😃 Omg im so sorry you missed it. There were SO many neair misses with your feet( other people's feet. It had an AMAZING queue. I believe part of it was animated with lights and it told the entire backstory and it was in a castle and it was amazing. If it's any consolation I've never been to any Harry Potter park😢😂❤
i’m soooo excited for epic universe. mainly dark universe. i can’t wait to see what they do with this land and ip. i’m scared for monsters unchained, mainly because we don’t know what it’ll look like. is it going to be more of a universal screen ride or will it actually be animatronic heavy. they say it’ll have animatronics. but how many will there be. i’m super excited and im gonna ride is multiple times (unless it scares me too much the first time) no matter what. overall it’ll be great no matter what.
If Stardust Racers is even half as good as my memories of original Dueling Dragons, I am gonna ride it so many times! Considering I only live like an hour away from the parks, it's a little embarrassing how much I just live vicariously through your channel instead of visiting them, but I think Epic Universe is gonna change that and actually get me out there again. I also had recently seen someone very negatively mention the Mario Kart ride from when they did it in California but didn't go into detail, and seeing your thoughts on it helps explain why they hated it. I was absolutely expecting a fast, frenetic ride, so to hear it goes slow is antithetical to the very idea of doing a ride based on that game.
I was disappointed in that ride lol. I wished it was a fast ride as he said, like an immersive, actual racetrack sort of thing. Instead, it was moving along very slowly, shooting digital shells around. Ngl, playing the game at home would’ve been more fun. But it’s probably entertaining enough for young kids
Like Islands of Adventure too many attractions in the open air that will have closures during lighting storms. They really needed to build enclosed show buildings that are not weather impacted. They have a legacy of failures at opening so its good to see them testing the rides hard.
Love HP world at universal. Was underwhelmed by gringotts and the screens on forbidden journey make it hard to enjoy now. I hope the ministry ride makes up for it. I cannot be more excited.
Tbh I was kind of disappointed with the Ministry of Magic announcement and it seems Battle at the Ministry might mimic Gringotts in my mind and I really hope it’s not the case and that I’m proved absolutely wrong when I get to experience it. I’m VERY excited for Dark Universe tho!
Actually a theme park show would be much lower in budget compared to a broadway show. The effects used on broadway cost significantly more than universal would be willing to put into a constantly running show. Now that would change if they just had specific show times throughout the day, but assuming it’s something consistent that needs to run again and again then we might run into problems. Broadway shows run 2 times a day usually which allows them to put a ton of money into the one use effects.
I put Dragon Racer’s Rally as my bottom ride. That just screams puke machine waiting to happen and will be the only ride I don’t go on there. Otherwise I’m looking forward to all the rides there.
Check out time traveler at silver dollar city in Branson, Missouri. I believe it is the exact same ride system as course of the werewolf. Definitely in the top 5 of my most exited for rides at Epic.

Nothing will ever compare to the Epic-ness of Dueling Dragons and the cue for it. I love Universal parks but I hate that they take away rides that people love but leave rides that people literally hate... such as Fast N Furious and the Simpsons ride. Ugh. Side note we need more adult and scary rides. If people want more kid friendly rides, go to Disney.
