I have a passion for theme parks and believe they should be discussed in terms of what makes them both good and bad. However, I want to focus more on the theming of attractions and how it can make or break an experience.

We'll cover its historical impact, fan favorite moments, and the technological advancements that keep this attraction thrilling visitors to this day.
Best safety instructions ever!!!!!!!
Men in Black or the Jimmy Fallon ride? I’ll take Jimmy’s ride please
Do they still have the "Ragtime Gals" barbershop quartet in the pre-show? When I went through the attraction, back in 2018, the pre-show consisted of four actual, live singers on stage performing some pop music, including some hip-hop rap music, converted into the style of a barbershop quartet. The performers were legit talented, and it was rather hilarious to behold! Yes, the actual "ride" sucked. It was, no doubt, the WORST attraction in the Universal resort area. But, I like the Ragtime Gals bit soooo much, I considered just watching them a second time, and then skipping the actual ride part. (Unfortunately, time constraints prevented me from doing so.)
The best juxtaposition at 5:41.
I think this ride is fine for what it is but its obviously not the greatest by any means. Still wayy better than Supercharged.
I always thought if there was ever a Tonight host who would actually fit in a ride, it would been Conan. His humor and style in a ride like that would've made it enjoyable
I actually like the NBC building facade (NYC vibe) and nostalgic studio theme inside. I think they could actually do more interactively with the internal area-they have a band stage and could have live activities or performances. But the biggest thing imho is that it seems like they could easily update this ride to a newer race or NBC/Fallon/SNL action event. The footage all looks to be drone shot combo w/ CGI anyway. Reshoot new scenes/story then sync it with platform the audience sits in. Seems this can be accomplished in a simulator then uploaded to the ride. A refresh could do wonders.
Boring ride. Might as well have been in a Movie Theater
ITS BETTER THAN FAST AND THE FURIOUS
There was an idea to bring VQ to Hagrid's, and the queue was originally designed for it, but I'm guessing, based on the fact that there is still no express, the popularity is too high even for a good quality VQ.
The two most event rides universal has made are heavily screen based. They have absolutely not learned their lesson. Just look at how badly they dropped the ball with Mario kart
twister sucked btw
when i tell people who know nothing about universal that they have a jimmy fallon ride, they’re honestly perplexed, as they should be lol
I last rode it in 2009 and totally loved it
Back to the Future
I never knew there was a digital queue because it’s always been a walk on when I’m there. I didn’t even know there were pre shows
maybe the downgrades are a slow goodbye to this ride. Maybe there trying to persuade people who love it to not feel as bad saying goodbye to it, which leaves room for a lot that could replace. also, what if people were allowed to walk around that outside area as a land of not using anymore.
I almost got to ride this last week but the ride broke down just as I was about to get on.
Why are the graphics so bad in fast and furious ride and the Simpson?
Went on it once. It was alright. Short wait. Break from the crowds and heat. Kind of fun.
I have to give Disney a win because they have access to Agatha, Scarlet Witch, and essentially now all extension of the horror side. Marvel should lean back into featuring Carnage along with Shriek, Hobgoblin and Demigoblin, Mr. Sinister, Half-Life, Madman, and Scream.
In terms of size and footprint of the ride I feel like this is much better then fast and furious. It’s a good break the way the line is laid on where you can sit down and stuff and the ride is fun enough, tbh it’s better then the Simpson’s too
They could always re theme it. It’s just a massive motion simulator with a massive screen. There are two I believe. Wouldn’t be hard to turn it into just about anything.
I worked for Golf Channel in Orlando for 18 years. It was acquired by Comcast/NBC, and I gradually experienced the company becoming more and more corporate. Simple tasks suddenly had a lot of steps and red tape, any many of my friends who worked there for decades and helped build the company were laid off simply for the sake of “new blood”, to hire someone straight out of college to work for much lower pay, or to just have an unpaid intern. I was staff for years, and eventually laid off myself and had to start freelancing with no benefits. The company finally was moved to Connecticut, where NBC Sports is based, after it was established and thriving here, the mayor even named the street after the company, and NBC had just done a multi-million dollar renovation of the entire building. Needless to say, I don’t have a very great opinion of Comcast or NBC anymore. The changes at the Universal parks have sort of followed suit with these corporate ways, and the Jimmy Fallon ride is right in that vein. I was actually in the audience on his show in 2022 at 30 Rock, and was not impressed. It felt very cold, Fallon basically ignored the audience between segments, and he seemed to just suck up and go along with any corporate idea. I hate that this is how so many companies have become now.
I don’t mind the ride, I like the lobby area and it’s a chill simulator. Sucks that twister was replaced by something not as cool but I really don’t mind it
I think it's fine, Every ride doesn't need to be a high thrills ride. Sometimes you just want something more chill. Both the ride and the queue is pretty chill. Conversely, I hate the Simpson's ride it just feels like they are banging you around in a box for no good reason and Fast and Furious is by far the worse IMO with the motion just plain bad and the video confusing and cheaply done (The scale is silly). At least this one you see some New York sights and it doesn't bang you around for seemingly no good reason.
I dont care for fallon but i actually enjoy this rode for some reason. Premium AC and a smooth ride. It provides a lot of relief on a hot florida day.
Every description of this ride omits the sound of crashing footsteps between Kong encounters, indicating that the giant ape is following the tram.
This is literally the only ride I have ever gotten motion sickness on 😂
and this ride doesn't have any meaning to non-americans.
I'd love to see your video delve into the issues more. Felt like you were just getting into the neat of the video and then you wrapped it up.
The pre-show area is very much a Tonight Show museum - even Conan O Brien's short stint as host gets a spot, and it makes sense because there was a Tonight Show With Jay Leno experience at Universal once.
loved this show man!! the bourne show now is just as impressive tho imo
The ride is EXTREMELY outdated lol surprised it even still exists tbh. classic tho
this ride is WAYYYYYYY too short man. thats my biggest complaint. not even worth a 30 min wait imo, let alone the 3 hours i waited when it first came out.
I saw this show in person many years ago and it was absolutely the best show that the park ever had. It was outstanding and amazing. Truly mind-blowing. Far, far better than any of the cheap shit shows and attractions they have today.
I had no idea they gutted everything that made this ride unique. So glad I passed it up a few weeks ago now.
I love this ride actually.
At least it's not Fast and Furious Supercharged
Digitial Queue is Universal's version of Disney World's Lighting Lanes.
I definitely remember hearing the Beetlejuice music playing on this ride lmao 😂 Dad & I loved it
They need to replace this attraction with Secret Life of Pets ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. It would be a great transition from Illumination Blvd and New York.
Ironically, the one ride that everybody thought was going to be a big disappointment that year (Frozen Ever After) turned out to be a bigger hit than Kong.
I actually really like the ride
The fact is, Jimmy Fallon just isn’t that funny. He wasn’t that funny on SNL and he’s not funny as the host of The Tonight Show. So while the racing part is kinda fun, and the movie is pretty cool visually, the ride, much like Jimmy, underdelivers.
We thought😊 it was fine. Who gives a shit really.
The best part is Conan o'Brien.
This ride being a longer version of the King Kong 360 segment from the tram tour, in my opinion, is the biggest reason why this ride is a huge disappointment and letdown.
Boring? This is one of the best rides outside of Diagon Alley.
